Twice we saw girls look at the tour group and roll their eyes in disgust and while on tour there wasn't a single friendly hello from students walking around the campus. It's a shame because Marist has some great programs and was close enough for my son to come home once in a while. They say you can't make a second first impression and vibe from the current students we saw walking around just didn't make the place seem like the right fit. I'm 100% SURE this isn't the entire student body, but it is what it is. The search continues...

Continuing leads to the end of the path into grass and then into woods, there is a dirt path which leads to the Hudson River, which is extremely narrow covered with plants, making it quite frustrating for those who aren't in great shape, be aware. Not a bad place to explore this area.

This is a great college in upstate New York. I have visited here several years and enjoyed my time…read morethere. The campus has developed over the years with new buildings and restaurants. Every time I come up there is something new. I love seeing the fall foliage here and the bright happy spirits of all the townspeople. It is right next to the wonderful town of New Paltz with its bustling nightlife and restaurants. You get the full college experience in a couple miles. It is easy to walk around and do everything you need. It is far enough to get away from the craziness of the city but still be able to enjoy yourself.

I was accepted to four schools and chose this one, and it was absolutely the right choice. My professors are very supportive, I love my cohort, and our practicum coordinator is great. I had to take undergrad statistics there before applying to the master's program (my bachelor's is in a different subject), and my professor Glenn Geher was really helpful. This might sound hyperbolic, but it's rare in life to have something turn out even better than you hoped. I feel very lucky to be here.

Great education events or just a beer at the egg where they are teaching students to brew! They have a little market store with foodstuffs as well as various options like homemade pizza, noodles, baked goods and smoothies. We really enjoyed the shrimp and chicken quesadillas with Mexican corn and it was reasonably priced for the quality of the food. Staff was so friendly as well.

Update - it got worse. When leaving the building to go to the next part of the tour, the guide did…read morenot wait for me. I took the elevator down and they just took the group on the stairs and took off without waiting. So I had to leave. I took the issue to admissions and they had nothing to say. If you have any mobility needs don't go here. Nope! Came here for a campus visit and the guide mumbled something and then took the group off at a fast pace, to climb three (or four) flights to the lecture room. Zero access for people with disabilities. I raised with them (as it was not accessible for us) and the first question asked was "did you fill out the form for people with disabilities?" Yes we did. But that is all you got? They say in other reviews that this college is too "woke." How about not woke enough?

My main objective is to comment on college's housing crisis. There is severe shortage of on-campus…read morehousing. Students after freshman year are not guaranteed on-campus housing and therefore many students are faced with problems finding a place to live. The area surrounding campus is rural where housing supply is scarce, unaffordable and inconvenient. Bard is a residential college, however the percentage of its students living on-campus is much lower than other residential colleges. This issue has persisted for years! The administration has failed to address this crisis. I would not recommend enrolling there. The academics might be ok, but there will be no campus life whatsoever. Do not just take my word for it. Google it. Do your research.
