Students won an award for their science work. Northern is a fascinating example of STEAM--science, technology, arts, music. Northern offers ballet, classical music, and classical Chinese dance, along with the humanities and science programs. We visited an arts studio on campus, too, with student's skillful work displayed. A parent spoke of how flexibly the faculty designed course work for his sons--one was extremely good at math, and they let him advance into a much higher grade to do challenging work. Another was extremely poor at Chinese, and the school found two others who were novices and created an ultra-beginner class just for them. If only all schools could do such things! It's good to see a school restoring and using the abandoned Beaux Arts buildings that had become so blighted. Glad they preserved the graceful proportions and aged brick of the old buildings, while making it modern and bright inside.

There are several qualities that this facility has. The facility it self is out of the way for me, and I pass several daycares on my way from work to home, but the travel ( an extra 15 min. locally) is worth my peace of mind. First off, the staff deserves a round of applause! You will NEVER find a center that fosters team work like New Wonders, Val & Melissa are a burst of positive energy. Every staff member always looks happy and engaged with the children, it makes me feel like I am leaving my baby with " grandma" in a way. They provide lunch, and snacks, they have a musician/dancer come in each week and interact with the kids. My boys ALWAYS go outside for walks/play. They have a camera system, so you can watch your babies online from work or on your cell phone. They have an online portal where you can read daily notes, and see pictures of your baby's milestones. I just saw a picture of my 3 month old doing tummy time and holding his head up :) Sorry for the long winded post but I'm sure if your looking for care you care to read what locals have to say. My kids are my heart, and I don't have to worry at all with them here. BTW: I only had 1 instance where my older son was sick, and he was here for 2 years so that IS expected and normal. I never had any concerns regarding cleanliness. They care about the upkeep and you will see beautiful art work posted on the bulletin boards. They do annual class photo's, fundraisers, etc.

That peace of mind as a parent is truly priceless as I work all day long. The staff are caring, warm, and inclusive to all children. They've created a safe environment where my son has been able to grow and build connections with staff and kids. My son looks forward to seeing his teachers each day in his class and all of his friends. He is happy to go, comes home smiling, and has formed strong bonds with both staff and friends. We appreciate all of the updates we receive and enjoy seeing daily pictures of what he did throughout the day.

From the very beginning, the staff at Prime Time made that transition so much easier for me. They showed such genuine kindness and patience with both me and my baby. As a new mom, I had a lot of worries--especially when she was having trouble eating at first. Instead of brushing off my concerns, they were incredibly attentive and reassuring. They kept a close eye on her, communicated with me throughout the day, and worked with me to make sure she was comfortable and getting what she needed. Their level of care and understanding meant the world to me during a time when I was already feeling emotional about being away from her. Knowing that she was with people who were nurturing, patient, and truly cared about her well-being gave me so much peace of mind while I was at work. They created a warm, supportive environment not just for the babies, but for the parents too. I'm so grateful for the love and attention they gave my daughter during such an important stage of her life. We enrolled our daughter in classes after reading so many wonderful reviews about this school. We…read morewere excited to meet the staff and see what our daughter would be doing, as we had in other schools that she had been in. After being delayed for 4 weeks due to construction, and then being told the week before the school had actually moved, we arrived to a new building with no little to no parking and no signs saying where the school was. When we finally found it, we were greeted with a mask mandate that wasn't communicated, and a room that was a quarter of the size of their old space. These things we could deal with. It was what followed that completely soured our opinion of the school. The man at the entrance simply told about the masking and then told us that we could leave and didn't have to stick around. While he was polite, we were confused. In other schools, we more than welcome to wait and watch our daughter enjoy her class. When we told him we wanted to wait, he got annoyed and immediately got the owner. When she approached us she explained that they don't allow the parents to wait and that we should use this as "free time" and that we could come back five minutes before class ended to watch. She then basically pushed us out of the building. This wasn't communicated before hand, so our daughter was upset by this. Once we assured her we were just outside, we left to find other parents waiting in the parking lot just as confused and irritated as us. One parent went back in to complain, and instead of being gracious and helping we later heard the headmistress aggressively complaining to her staff about the parent, fully in front of the children they were supposed to be teaching. When we went back to watch, the instructors were already cleaning up and the headmistress had to tell the instructor to go back and show us what they had taught our daughter. We were greeted with a 5 minute stretching session that showed us nothing that our daughter didn't already know before going into the class. Between this all this, the complete lack of communication on the staff's part and the fact that the classes are 30 minutes long, which is half the time other dance studios are offering at twice the price, this studio does not hold its value at all.

I completed an engineering degree here in the early 2000s and today I am a rocket scientist. The staff and professors at the time were awesome and I built the foundation that set me up for my entire career at OCCC. I met some great people there, a few of which are still lifelong friends. Don't underestimate community college, I'd do it all over again.

Patricia Sullivan from the nursing department she usually teaches Nursing 2 has been changing…read morestudents answers on test for years. The School is aware of it and has done nothing about it.. All the students that have failed nursing two should have their test reviewed. There really should be a class action suit against this teacher and the school.
