Wonderful snowshoe. Good and steep. Great views. Easy access. Enjoy this hike up a mountain with a well marked trail through the woods.

Mt. Sugarloaf in South Deerfield has been and continues to be an important landmark in our lives. This park located near the Connecticut River is an amazing spot to view the surrounding area. Our favorite time to visit this park is in the fall when the views of the foliage area incredible. Looking over the little town of Sunderland is beautiful and completely picture worthy. Our next favorite time of the year is winter. This is when Mt. Sugarloaf is covered in snow and they string the visitors post with lights to resemble a tree. Overall, this is a must visit park in Western MA if you want a nice view of the area, or if you want to BBQ with a view in the summer. Just a tip, there is parking at the top, but sometimes it can be completely full.

Mike's maze is on the middle left on the far side of the river.

We hiked this a few years back. It was only a mile or so but had interesting topography, red clay cliffs and nice large red oaks. We recently drove up to the top. While the viewing tower does offer decent views, it is in my mind overshadowed by traffic noise from Rt. 91 and Rt 10. You are also looking down on many houses , businesses and a sewer treatment plant. I seek solitude when I hike and this can't delver. It's good for what and where it is though.

a favorite walk when i find myself driving around and need to stretch the legs a bit. it's two steep switchbacks to the top, a good burn if you move fast, and a place where folks love to bring their dogs or their friends from out of town. the view from the top is phenomenal in any season and classic for new england, with the bridges over the winding river, the church steeples, the mountains in the distance and all the patchwork farmland. few years back my man asked for my hand at the top of the tower. it was a glorious moment that will long outlast the disappointment of a relationship that didn't quite work out. picnic areas, restrooms (wish they were open in winter), coin operated lookout binocs. i haven't done the hiking trail, just the paved walk to the tower. will be trying that this spring. note that in winter, the paved trail is NOT plowed, so you will need appropriate footwear, as it can get icy. bring your squeeze, bring the kids, or bring the dogs, and enjoy!

This State Park is a great place to swim during the summer as well as spend time barbecuing with friends. Whenever we go we make it a point to show up early in the morning, set up shop, and do nothing for the rest of the day. They have a ton of different picnic areas and a centralized beach area with bathrooms and a food trailer. They also have space to play soccer and a few different horseshoe pits. The park also has some walking trails that provide a great space to connect with nature. A few things do need to be said about the park. The first is that you should plan to show up early on busy days such as holidays because at times there can be limited parking. The other interesting fact is that you should plan to have little to no cell service while at the park. This is great because it ensures that you won't be bothered, but good luck checking in.

A guy let us park in his yard for $10. It was pretty filled up, but, it was still comfortable. Great sandcastle sand, clean bathrooms, and GORGEOUS scenery. We stayed until the lifeguards left at 6. The beach was open until 7:30 though. We will definitely be going again! We were so glad to have come across this gem.

Located in the village of Florence, the 150 acres of land were given to the City of Northampton by Mrs. Fannie Burr Look (widow of Frank Newhall Look). Mr. Look had been a long-time resident of Northampton and the chief executive of the Prophylactic Brush Company. Operation and maintenance are dependent upon the trust fund, visitor fees, grants, and gifts. Owned by the city but operated as a non-profit organization, Look Park receives no funding from the city or state. The park contains a number of notable features including walking paths, an outdoor amphitheater, tennis courts, baseball and softball diamonds, a miniature golf course, paddle boats, playscapes, a spray park, a wildlife center, a sweet shoppe, covered picnic areas, covered bridges, and a miniature railway. I recently visited Look Memorial Park with my family. I first visited the park last summer with my older son. We had so much fun that we decided to return this year with my wife and younger son. We first set out to visit the park's 5,000-square-foot spray park. It was a hot day and my two sons had a blast exploring the various ground jets, bucket dumps and water umbrellas. After a change of clothes, we explored one of the playscapes and the wildlife center. What we were most looking forward to was a ride on the park's miniature steamer train. Manufactured by Wichita, Kansas-based Chance Rides, the miniature train is a replica of the circa-1863 C.P. Huntington steam locomotive. The train runs every half hour on the weekends and rides last about 10 minutes. The train is transformed into 'Santa's Train' during the Christmas holiday season and it can also be rented for birthday parties. The train ride was easily the highlight of our park visit. We look forward to visiting Look Memorial Park again and again!

I wish management would be more proactive about notifying incoming guests that many park services are closed before paying to get in. We also went to the sweet shop to get root beer floats, and paid $11 for two root beer floats that were actually half full. I would recommend the place for people looking to enjoy the scenery, but apart from that the experience was lacking.

People that I come across are always pleasant. The "bears den" is really neat. Only complaints would be the amount of people that drop bags of dog poop on the trail, a pet peeve of mine. Honestly, I'd rather you just left it without the bag. Doesnt really make sense why someone would go through the effort of using a bag just to litter it. But that small annoyance doesnt stop me from going back. Overall the area is well maintained.
