(stated by her herself) "Its baseball, kids get hit" "we're both not gonna agree on anything" "I'm missing my granddaughter game" the list goes on but I have realized how unprofessional at just public communication about concerns of any of the players if they are hurt or what is really going on her fields that she claims that she is the boss around there! I just don't know how organization such as that one still operating with such a foul leader just like any other company in the world. They all will continue to have their downfalls and voices will never be heard of the true concerns from parents.. ps my boys have autism so just let that soak in as parent so I don't recommend this place at all.

The facility is very well maintenance and features a very nice soccer field with a track going around the field. The bleachers have seat back seating actually which I haven't seen at any other local Louisville high school athletic field. The rest of the facility has a few softball fields that also seem very well taken care of and the whole facility just seems very modern and updated. Features a beautiful brick clock tower as well. Overall a great place to take in or play an athletics game at. Very beautiful facility with comfortable seating and solid concession pricing and options. Mobile ticketing available through an app as well.

It has nice scenery and birds to check out in trees. It's a clean and well kept park, and there's usually something going on with people playing ball or getting some exercise. It's not a huge park, but it has a good mix of activities and is a great place for the local community to gather. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the St. Matthews area.

Sports complex - There are two baseball diamonds with covered dugouts for the players and bleachers for spectators. Adjacent to the diamonds are two regulation sized soccer fields with goals. There is also fields appropriate for younger athletes. Central to the complex is a concession stand run by volunteers in the community. A wide variety of beverages as well as snacks are offered. Some of these include sodas, juice, water, hotdogs, pretzels, nachos & warm cheese, etc. There are restrooms located in the same building as the concession stand. 2. Rachel's Fun For Everyone Park - This past year RFFEP became a reality to our community as well as its founder, Rachel Ritchie. The park is fenced in so as to contain the children and prevents them from running into the parking lot. The intention of the park is for our special needs friends within our town and neighboring towns as well. The equipment includes swings, slides, a rock-wall, seated zip-line, seesaws, tactile toys, benches and most importantly a soft surface pad to protect our friends from injuring themselves and allows wheelchairs/motorized/walking aides to travel safely from each piece of equipment. The park is for all of our little friends. 3. Parking - There are parking options available adjacent the park as well as the outside perimeter fence surrounding the soccer and baseball fields. 4. Picnic tables and over head cover are available for picnickers and travelers and are adjacent to recreational vehicle hookups. There is plenty of shade, walking areas and a stream that runs parallel to the park where people often fish. Each year the park hosts Vine Grove's Fall Festival, Bluegrass Festival, organized run/walks and other events. The only reason why I rated Optimist Park at four stars is because the bathrooms are small, sometimes messy, not stocked with soap/paper towels and does not offer a changing table.

They have had numerous events such as a music festival and let the local JROTC have an event there. The only issue I have is that the very back of the park is filled with graffiti, some including slurs. They have a soccer field that is maintained fairly well for youth soccer but the baseball field(s) are rarely used except for practice and a local match between police and fire fighters. Overall a good place to visit, but be wary of the loud train that comes by every once in a while. I would rate it 5 stars if it was not for the graffiti.

The park has a football field down decent sized basketball courts a playground and small splash park water area. The park itself isn't maintained the best. I've stopped in here a few times while doing work in the area. It's never too populated. Playground is pretty fun. I happened to have my second oldest daughter with me today so she played for a bit and had a good time. Overall a solid Louisville metro neighborhood park that's hidden a bit. But I'm sure the locals and the kids at the boys and girls club make good use of it.

Also has an excellent track and field event location. They have a reasonable set of stand for spectators. The School Lacrosse team plays their games there. Our Granddaughter is on the Varsity so we will be attending all her home games starting next week.
