I worry that this credit union that I have been a part of for decades, has a huge customer service…read moreproblem. Their system of helping members that come in for loans, notary, etc is very broken. I have been waiting for 45 minutes to get a document notarized but they messed up their list of who to serve next - even though I showed them their mistake they said I have to wait while they help several other people that came in 15 to 20 minutes after me. I am going to miss my window of mailing this off overnight. - these employees don't know how to triage the needs of the members. They all have looked at the list and have seen all that I need done is a notary but still they don't care. One loan officer played with a clients kid on the carpet for five minutes while my timetable is ticking down. Not impressed at all at the level of people here.

I subtracted 1 (one) star because they do not have a dedicated mortgage specialist at the Kaysville location and the numbers I was provided and left voice messages with did not call me back. Also, it is a bit weird that when you have a question they want you to schedule an appointment, come in, and talk in person with a banker when you just wanted your question answered on the phone. However, they are really good a following up and calling you if you did not make it in to see them. A complaint about Wells Fargo, not this branch, is that their Credit Card division is separate from their regular banking. So if you walk into a branch location for a credit card question or issue, the best the bankers there can do is call the exact same phone number you would have called at home and go through the same process you would have gone though. But it is nice that they are still willing to help regardless and represent you.

I say…read moresomewhat because the reason they denied me wasn't for a lack of what I made every month, nor my credit score, or my excellent payment history. It was because they couldn't verify my employer. How they verify is by literally googling the name of my employer and his company name, and if nothing pops up with his phone number, they deny the application. I'm a tile setter and make really good money. It's my boss and myself, no other employees. Everything my boss does is word of mouth and has never had to advertise. We do excellent work. When they told me they couldn't find him on google, I asked if they tried looking up his Entity #. Their response, "No, because we have to find his information on our own. We cannot use anything you give us as it could be falsified." And that makes sense, except for the reality that I could literally go online and create a fake website in minutes with any random phone number and call it "my bosses company here". That's not verifying information in anyway shape or form. An Entity number is a government issued number for licensed business and can be verified with a simple search in secretary of states website of whatever state the business is in. That cannot be faked. When I said this, they still said that it doesn't matter, because they weren't the ones that found it, that I was the one that lead them to the secretary of states website, and therefore is no verification.
