Was quoted 123 a month for personal, and they'd get back to me on business accnts. I said great is that the best rate around/competitors they assured me it was so I gave them my card # for deposit. 10 mins later I get a call from another agent with BETTER coverage for 82 a month. I go to the store tell them this and ask to cancel that policy, The guy gets a very aggressive tone and expression and nearly yells"we're not interested in doing that" I'm a young business owner, I laughed thinking this was a joke as I was discussing 3+million dollars of policy coverage with him moments ago. And he just stared at me in awkward silence, got up and brought back two papers sign here sign here. I asked about the office insurance and he just says, we aren't going to do that, we don't want your business, leave, now. Which is fine, I hope they don't want anyone else's business either. Stay away from these guys, better coverage for almost half elsewhere. Just unbelievable to me, it's business. Best rates usually get the business, sounds like he knows he's not beating anyone's prices, or even going to try for you, just wait for the next sucker to call. Hope this helps someone!

They do tricky stuff to get more money from you…read more A while back they said I could get cheaper car insurance if I also opted for a life insurance plan. So my car insurance went from $100 to $70 with $25 in life insurance. So it seemed like a good deal. However when I cancelled my car insurance they didn't cancel the life insurance. And when I tried to cancel the life insurance I had to submit a cancellation form in person, which was denied 3 times for various reasons. Bottom line, I think they were playing tricks, and they might do this sort of thing if you ever try to make a claim.

I read all 100+ pages of our loan information and there were things in there no one bothered mentioning and I wouldn't have known about had I not read them. On the other hand I don't think any other company I could have worked with would have told me any more than First Colony did. So as far as a business goes, I would consider working with them again. As far as being the best business to work with, I don't know if there is such a thing. It's business and every business is in business for one thing, money. The loan officer I worked with was professional and kind and answered all my questions promptly and professionally.

When I paid this loan off there was a $6 lien change fee however, because I paid off the loan the next business day she did not mail out my title to the DMV. She still charged me $6 for a lien change that was never processed. She initially said it was a documentation fee which was again another lie.I just wonder who is keeping that money? They called me today to re-open my account. When I tried to ask her about that $6 fee she got super heated and hung up the phone. Their rates are WAY HIGHER than any competitor I went too!
