He is also a descendent, for anyone who is interested, of Major General Eugene Asa Carr, who graduated from West Point 19th in a class of 44 in 1850, and who fought in the Civil War, winning the Medal of Honor for his heroic action in the battle of Pea Ridge, AR. Dr. Carr is a wonderful doctor, but alas, it is now for naught. He has decided to retire. His last day of seeing patients will be on December 12, 2017, and he's already all booked up.

It's a nice little Private Practice in the Encino complex among other small Medical Offices. The employees of always been helpful, friendly and efficient. I've had several nurse practitioners come and go through the years some I have enjoyed some were just my nurse practitioners. It's usually not very crowded, not long of a wait and you can usually get same-day appointments. It's in a great location right off of the freeway with plenty of off-street parking and directly across from the pharmacy how convenient is that? Although the staff has changed throughout the years the care and attention from the doctor and nurse practitioners have not changed. There's plenty of seating inside this little office with a television, wager station, plenty of magazines to read and beautiful photography decorating the walls. They do have after hours doctors on staff and you usually get a call back very quickly. I would recommend this office for someone who is looking for a reliable doctor or an efficient nurse practitioner but don't become too attached to them because they seem to come and go often. I would not like to recommend this office because I enjoy it being small and not crowded and being able to get same-day appointments. So to Roundup this review its a great office, great staff, great nurse practitioners and a great old grumpy Dr.

I came to the appointment with several serious concerns, including alarming hair loss, persistent sleep issues, low energy, difficulty losing weight before an upcoming surgery, multiple out-of-range markers on my recent bloodwork, and ongoing problems accessing the patient portal. One of my biggest concerns was that my TSH level had not even been checked, despite the fact that Dr. Tran changed my thyroid medication at my previous visit. Throughout the appointment, Dr. Tran seemed more focused on typing into her computer than listening to me. She offered no meaningful discussion, explanation, or solutions regarding any of my concerns. Every issue I raised was essentially brushed aside, and the appointment ended with a recommendation to simply return in three months. What was most disappointing was her demeanor. She came across as cold, disconnected, and frankly rude. As a patient, I expected a physician who would listen, ask questions, and help me understand what was going on with my health. Instead, I felt completely disregarded. At the end of the visit, I told Dr. Tran that I would be looking for a new primary care physician. Her only response was, "OK." This was one of the most frustrating medical appointments I have ever experienced. Patients deserve to feel heard, respected, and involved in their care. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with Dr. Tran.

Things like patient centered care, Reiki practicioner, and blending the spiritual aspects of healing with routine medical practice. I felt encouraged. I went to her because of ongoing symptoms after an accident. I asked her if she thought Reiki would help me. She said she only does Reiki on her family. She took my height weight and blood pressure, listened to my symptoms and told me to go to an acupuncture clinic or talk to a surgeon. She refused to work with me. I was in and out of there in ten minutes. What are medical schools teaching these people. I have had several similar experiences in the last few years. They gloss over your symptoms, take a lot of notes, do not examine you, and then refer you to a specialist. What we need are the old time country doctors, someone who listens well, communicates clearly, explains everything, has technical skill and lots of common sense. My advice is to cease being a "patient" and become a CUSTOMER. Remember you are the customer, you are paying these people, it is your body, you have autonomy, and the sovereignty of your body and mind must be respected.

But her medical practice is not patient-centered, it is Dr. Thal-centered. She does not respect her patient's time or schedule, only her preference for doing things. She is on auto pilot. I have a really busy schedule and have told her I cannot have a one-and-a-half-hour wellness check, yet she insists I stay the whole time, sit there, and listen to the same schpiel every single time. Word for word. I could recite it back to her. And it is not tailored to me. My 17-year-old daughter is told the same exact things. It has become a joke in our family. She refused to shorten the visit and got angry with me when I told her I only had half an hour once. With all this time spent, you would think she would know my medical history and me like the back of her hand, but she absolutely does not. Or at least she would have time to find answers or suggestions with helpful direction whenever we come to her with questions, because we are paying her an extra concierge fee on top of health insurance and co-pays, but she definitely does not. And the one time I did have an out of the norm issue at an appointment she talked me out of doing anything about it because she was sure it was nothing and IT WOULD TAKE A LONG TIME.
