I recently had cataracts removed from both eyes by Dr Denwood. Dr Denwood is very knowledgeable within her field and her evaluation, surgery and post care are second to none. She explained every aspect of the procedure to you at your level of knowledge. Her bedside care pre, during and post surgery was fantastic. She has a very calming demeanor and if that is not enough, she personally calls you the evening after your surgery! Dr Markoff and the staff at this facility are amazing. I highly recommend them to anyone needing cataract surgery. They help patients when other doctors won't. Had a man in the waiting room with me, unhappy with his cataract at another facility, they told him they wouldn't do any more to help him. Mountain eye stepped in to help him. My neighbor went to the same facility as this other man and can now hardly see. I am trying to get him in here. read more

No, I do not recommend this business. I walked in, made my appointment, and waited the two months for that appointment. The day of the appointment, I waited in a long line for more than fifteen minutes. My turn came up. The woman at the desk had a hard time finding me, though she confirmed she had my information, she saw "patient canceled". I did not cancel this appointment. I would not recommend anyone waiting two months for an appointment when the reliability of having that appointment is slim. read more

I can see better that I have in years. I can't imagine giving Mountain Eye a lower rating that a five. My exam was the best I ever had. Surgery was a success due to Dr. Denwood. I have been a long term client at Mountain Eye Associates but encountered a billing issue where I thought insurance might not have been filed properly. I called the billing department on the old bill and asked and they hadn't received insurance payment. While I was waiting on insurance to respond, they turned the bill over to a collection agency. You don't treat long-term clients like that especially when just two days earlier they had indicated willingness to pay the bill once they determined what was going on with the insurance. When I called into the billing department very irate, I received a rude billing agent who would not let me talk and talked over me. I will not return to this establishment. Great doctors. I went in for my annual check-up in February 2022. Dr. Markoff decided to use a laser tool to remove a cataract in my left eye. I left almost blind in my left eye. I have spent $3500 out of pocket to correct, but the damage is permanent. DO NOT allow this man to treat you. read more

Took my mother in law to Mountain eye today. She had broken her glasses so they got her in the same day (amazing!). She has dementia and gets confused easily, everyone was so nice and patient with her! Her glasses are going to take 3 weeks so they used an old pair of frames and put her lenses in so she could see until the new ones are in. I recommend them to anyone needing an eye doctor! read more

I love the practice and the opticians in the optical department but the lady who sits behind the counter in the optical department has zero personality and never looks up even while talking to you. She is rude has a "I could care less" attitude. She is not like the rest of the practice and can make your visit somewhat of a downer. The opticians will work with you until you are happy and I love that. They lost a star because of the one lady. She's been there each time I've been in and it affects the tone for sure! read more

This review goes back a number of years, Dr Markoff examined my wife and prescribed glasses with prescription. She had the the glasses made there at Mountain Eye Associates and paid about $650. She never felt the glasses were correct. Later when she had cataract surgery Dr Markoff said "oh heavens you have astigmatism, why didn't I catch that". The prescription for the glasses was wrong, and we asked for a refund. His response was " I can't do that because you have cataract surgery" SO WHAT, SHE SUFFERED FOR MONTHS WITH THE WRONG GLASSES AND DR MARKOFF REFUSED TO MAKE IT, AT LEAST THE BEST HE COULD AT THAT POINT WITH A REFUND. Worst eye exam experience I've ever had. We were there for almost 3 hours for regular eye exams, and didn't even get glasses fitted- they told me to come back later. The doc must have had me confused with another patient and gave me the wrong information until an assistant interrupted to correct him about my prescription. I've been going to this optometrist nearly all my life and I've seen Dr Markoff every time I've went since I was 4 years old. He did wonders with my eyes and caught a lazy eye early enough to where he could correct my vision best he could and prevent me from going blind in said eye. Last time, however, it was a different story. The office called my home phone at 4:30pm one afternoon in April when I wasn't home to try to schedule my exam. When I called them the next morning at around 9:30am I was told- and I quote: "Sorry, but the month of May isn't in our system. Call back tomorrow" I called the next day, same answer. I called nearly everyday for about 3 months only to be told the same thing, only the month's changed. June's not in our system, July's not in our System, September isn't in our system (They skipped August). I felt loyal to Dr Markoff and wanted to see him if possible, but the final straw was when I was told that "Seniority is something we have to take into account because Dr Markoff is a very popular Doctor. You can't just call in and expect to see him." Apparently seeing the same doctor every year for 19 years doesn't count as seniority. I like to think that maybe Dr Markoff thought I wasn't a high priority patient with issues he needed to fix, which I would have been fine with, except no one would say so. If you can get in the door, go for it. Positives: Great Doctor. Great place. Negatives: Poor front staff. Poor scheduling system that doesn't have more than one month in it at a time. read more
