During a recent excursion with an out of town friend I discovered "The Shop". A lover of all things…read morethrift and consignment I was thrilled to find this gem in the heart of downtown Nederland. What can I say, the sale rack just outside the store drew us right in. Upon entering the shop I was surprised by it's size (it spans two rooms). Additionally the shop has encased jewelry as well as locally made jewelry featured near the cash register. The shop featured day to day clothing, work attire, warm weather gear, accessories and footwear. Unfortunately I didn't get to take as much time as I would have liked in the shop (after all I had an out of town guest who refuses to wear second hand clothing). I was surprised indeed by all the great finds, locally made leather earrings, astronaut Cabbage Patch Dolls (Lila Brandy my cabbage patch doll would have loved a little astronaut friend), cowboy boots, and loads of outerwear. I'll definitely drop in the next time I'm in town, after all this shop is just steps away from my favorite Nederland Cafe (New Moon Cafe and bakery).

They redid their pricing; which was previously by type and now by item. The tags talk about returns, but the store is final sale. And yesterday in the middle of the afternoon they decided to close their fitting rooms forever. Their restroom is also closed. Arc Thrift continues to reign supreme in CO.

We have dropped many things off here over the past 10 years. The items we have donated include…read morelarge pieces of furniture, clothing, decorating items and miscellaneous pieces. They are consistently nice and I think they do a really good job of trying to accommodate all donations. I don't blame them for being selective and rejecting items that I think are perfectly useful. Their explanations make sense and I respect their position. We are very fortunate to have this business serving the Fraser area.

Sigh, Second Chance used to be my number one when I was in the Evergreen/Conifer/Pine area. They always had deals, friendly staff and treasures galore. But oh how the turntables have turned.....no more. They had a new manager come in and I think she thinks she's running a tight and efficient ship but I don't agree. She has limited the number of bags you can donate and in turn, the quality of the items of the store have gone down. I wish they would have more signs about prices and/or deals of the day where you can see them and that the Mens section wasn't on a completely different level (very tucked away) than the Womens. There's different associates working/volunteering there but it doesn't appear that new manager trusts anyone with checking people out when they want to pay. Thrift stores are usually a happy place for me and Second Chance gave me a case of the sads this past time I visited.

I go on Sat., 50% off most tags day. I always find something, might not be on my list, but always something. I especially like the layout, its is easy, large signs designate the areas and clothes are by size AND color, so easy! We often find brand new, tags still on clothing or items like the hydration pac my husband found today. We have found brand new, never worn pants and jeans for him as well. This place is the best for fake florals, especially if using outdoors. My score today included the exact pillow that matches one I already have for my bed, SWEET!, and a cute little RAE DUNN vase for a dollar! This has been my go to thrift store for many years, and so thrilled to discover the ones here in CO.

Your prices are ridiculously high make no sense at all. You have shelves and shelves of flower…read morevases, most of which are crap that came with delivered flowers. They're worth virtually nothing, yet you're charging $3.79 and similar. Put the crap on the lower shelves and charge $0.25, $0.50, $0.99. Have the things that are actually nice on the upper shelves. But don't charge 379 for a used vase unless it's actually of some value. Your employees don't wear name tags. The 20 something rude man needs to be fired. You know who I mean. Far too many of your items are broken. I constantly find empty boxes or containers because the items have been removed and stolen. People rip open bags of multiple items and take out what they want, obviously not paying for them since they don't have price tag on them, leaving a partially full bag hanging there. You have a severe stealing problem. I could go on and on about this ARC Longmont. There is zero security in this place and it needs it, desperately. I'm done donating and shopping here.
