They have local muso's playing Friday and weekend nights for tips, even the odd board game night I believe. They're small and do have quite the clientele, so it's advised to book ahead if you can. Best of all, and for which I praise them to the skies, is that they're allergen-aware to an unusually high level, almost everything on the menu has at least gluten-free options. The GF fruit bread I chose for brekky was actually really good (any of you aware of the crisis state of GF breads will understand the rarity of that statement). It's homemade, chock full of fruity goodness, and the coffee was large and satisying. The food was the biggest disappointment! I had the morrocan breakfast. It was bland with a capital B. The turkish bread with soggy and thinly cut, under several pieces of moist pan fried, thick unseasoned eggplant. I don't think the dish was spiced at all and there was so salt and pepper on the table for us to at least add some flavour to the dish with. ... about as far as the beautiful spiced dishes of Morocco as you can get.

I had heard great things about the coffee here so as i took my first sip i was anticipating a brain exploding experience however i received a mouthful of lukewarm mediocre coffee. Then came the food, the spaniard toastie was a toasted cheese sandwich with chorizo sausage and the smashed avo was 2 pieces of sourdough with avo, tomato and feta which i added a poached egg to. The food.. while the toastie was delicious i was a little disappointed with the smashed avo. The name of the dish was smashed avo so here i was expecting a substantial amount of avocado however what i got was a small scraping of avocado on both pieces of bread which was over powered by the amount of feta. IGA is like the younger, more modest version of Woolworths and Coles…read more Their stock has less variety than the other two supermarket giants, understandably, BUT (and it's a big 'but').. their prices are way lower, their produce is fresher (Woolworths 'the fresh food people', my arse) and, arguably most importantly, their staff are much, much friendlier. I'm not sure why Woolworths and Coles staff constantly act as though we're doing them a favour by shopping there.. but they do. IGA staff don't. IGA staff give you a bright smile, ask how your day was (as in, REALLY ask, and wait for an answer, rather than just rattled off some pre-determined sentence as instructed to by their superiors) and generally act like they give a hoot.
