I just moved to the area. I moved here because I have family here and where i was living before rents for the elderly were up to 1450/a month. With gas prices off the charts no one has the gas to travel to places that are supposed to be cheaper. So in the long run it all evens out. I'm very happy to have discovered this store. And until gas prices come down I won't be going to the bigger grocery stores anytime soon. The meat and fresh produce is just that fresh. Good place to shop. read more

As with most businesses these days, hiring children who haven't been properly trained for customer service, the service rendered by the young manager is less than desirable, is reflected in the employees actions but she's cute, there's always that . Store is very clean , especially rest rooms in comparison to Weis in Dallas where it's constantly an issue, not to get off track but customer service there is lacking big time. Is why I'm trying mountain fresh. They have a wide variety of fresh meats you can't find at Weis, occasionally see a brown package but overall am satisfied. Selection could be wider however sharing your space with a hardware store probably limits space availability. Good, close parking, carts always organized, always clean in store. I'd recommend. Not many other choices, so customer service probably isn't considered an issue. I'd definitely have a talk with your little, snippy manager though. The world doesn't revolve around her, as she appears to portrait. Her management seems more important than a costumer. Example; I stood in a line with no cart and both arms filled, behind 3 others for approx 20 mins, she clearly saw me, I left another lady go in front. When I finally got to my turn, she pulled clerk, said this lane in now closed, sending me 1 lane over, where I waited behind 2 more people being checked out. Rather than allow 5 minutes to check out, as much as 1 person can hold in arms, the 5 mins overtime the employee would have made to convenience a customer became more important than service with a smile. . As a first experience with a grocery store, 10 minutes from my home, when I'm considering a change from Weis, it was less than desirable. One bad apple can't spoil the whole bunch. The Mountain Fresh Supermarket on Rt. 118, Sweet Valley/ Hunlock Creek is a quality market. I enjoy their meats . They are good quality. I manage to shop there once or twice a week during the summers I spend in the area. They have a good selection of produce and grocery items. While I cannot get all my purchases there I can get most! Who can say more? By the way- I am the one who buys most , if not all , your Malbec wines! It is the only Hong I drink! Thank you for a job well done! read more

WOW is all I can say. The customer service? I can not even describe how rude they are. To be fair, a lot of the employees are very friendly but somehow I get stuck dealing with some snot nosed kid or a stuck up older lady who seem to be on power trips and think good customer service is beneath them. Today is a prime example. I went to buy some chairs this morning. First she was put off because I wanted different colors (which meant we had to unchain all the chairs, unstack and restack some of them). She seemed to be struggling so I figured I would help and started to pull the chain through on the other side of the chairs to get the ones I wanted from that side of the stacks. We got to the last chair and she was pulling it up. I was restacking the ones I didn't need. She jumped back and grabbed her hand. I thought she pinched her fingers. I immediately asked if she was okay and she yelled "NO I'm not okay, you just slammed the chairs on my hand!" I then realized that when I was putting the chairs back on the stack I must of scraped her hand. I apologized profusely and instead of her being even slightly graceful and understanding it was an accident she chose to act like a spoiled child. This is an older woman by the way. I then told her flat you she should learn better customer service for one and also accept an apology when it was clearly an accident. Then she accused me of throwing the chain at her face and slamming a chair on her hand. To be clear, I was on the other side of the stack of chairs and I was holding the chain against my stomach so I could put it through the arm of the chair to unravel it to get the chairs I wanted. So how exactly did she take that as me throwing it at her face. I literally laughed at her feeble attempt at making it seem more dramatic than it was. Her hand wasn't even red, so I doubt I scraped it that bad. But even so, I would never hurt someone deliberately & was truly sorry. After all that, I figured she might have calmed down and I still asked her if she was okay. She walked back in the store without acknowledging me at all. I was left standing on the sidewalk with six Adirondack chairs to put in my vehicle with no help from anyone! I will NEVER go back to this store. I will NEVER recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to be accused of something they didn't do. These managers/employees should follow owners example because every time I've ever seen him, he has been over the top friendly and seems to really care about his customers. I doubt he would have been very impressed by this woman actions this morning. Thanks to her, they just lost another costumer. I'll drive to Dallas or Tunkhannock before I go back here. Sad, since it's less than a half mile from my home. read more

Small, limited selection, high prices, meats so-so, fresh veggies not great. Convenient but that's about it.

Going through much needed long drawn out expansion project. Store is improving but the fruits are usually on the cusp of being spoiled. Check-out kids are untrained but trying. I've shopped at this store since day one and I haven't looked back. All you need to do is look at the parking lot full of cars and the bag loads of groceries being loaded in trunks to know this store has it all. Great service, they hire a really good bunch of young people to work there, that are very helpful. You actually look forward to saying Hello to them when you shop. They will take special orders for you and even carry a few of your favorites at your requestI Excellent quality meats at good prices. Plus, you can always count on some type of good steak being on sale in the summer for the grill. As far as the produce section goes, I haven't found good produce at any supermarket so I don't slight them for it. Unless its potatos or onions I shop produce stands. Benefit... you bump into a lot of friends and neighbors when your shopping! read more
