Either way, I wanted to visit this grocery store and it was a good stop. It seems like a high-quality store, but the prices weren't unreasonable. In part I wanted to stop just to check it out but when I learned that Pennsylvania is the snack food capital of the country, that sealed the deal. They have an extensive bakery with lots of stuff, including some that I don't tend to see at a grocery store bakery, like the macarons that I picked up here. They also sell fudge, another unlikely grocery find. It's a grocery store, so of course they have what you're expecting to find, but their chip aisle did seem extensive. Or maybe that it's just that I've never seen flavors like honey jalapeño and others before. The staff was friendly and efficient. Shopping was pleasant. If I lived in the area this would be my go-to grocery store.

First off let me say and take note here that when visiting in the state of Pennsylvania, when asking for a cool beverage drink it is called "Soda" not Pop. I encountered this comment of humor back in 1993 from dear relatives who corrected me when I was offered a beverage while visiting other cities such as Kingston and Edwardsville. This well known store has everything you could think of or need on a daily or weekly basis. The employees are residents young and old, and greet shoppers when walking in the doors and shopping throughout the isles of many departments. I hope all my photos are attached properly to get an idea that Weis is the place to grab and go for needed weekend party supplies and food or weekly shopping. Note again as I type this Weis does NOT carry to sell Beer or Wine (Yet) but stocks and sells their flavorful Birch Beer Soda which I bought 3 - 12 packs of 2 flavors to take back to Michigan. Beer and Wine is pending here in July. Another favorite sweet item that I MUST buy are the delicious in many assorted flavors and boxes of "Tastykakes". The company is currently headquartered in Philadelphia and manufactures the line of snack foods. These tastykakes can be stored in a cabinet/cupboard up to 2 months for those who eat sweets slow and savor.. not I that is. Also we have stored them in the freezer for longer months double bagged for less temptation or weight gain. LOL. I know some Meijer locations here in Michigan do carry these butterscotch delights, cupcakes, twinkies, jelly filled, Krimpets, etc. but the high stock is here at Weis. There is a seafood, meat and deli department here and small area with bakery goods. They sell other handmade items outside in the parking lot and areas inside the lobby from local residents or nearby cities. I am thrilled to stop in here to spend my Michigan money on great products made in PA before leaving back home. FYI : In closing I just text messaged my cousin and she has confirmed that this Weis store now sells Beer & Wine finally instead of shopping at the Outlet store. I'm sure this store has been busy lately with the hot weather and vacation fun with faithful customers now spending more money to add to their food shopping bill. I will be looking forward to shopping here again soon in the Fall or ? to buy my favorite Pennsylvania beer " Yuengling" !! "Sweet Cheers" to this Weis location in Mountain Top, PA ! P. S. I am rating this business 4 stars instead of 5 because I need to wait till I purchase my beer = this year or next year! :)

I was given a specific cutoff time to finish adding items to my cart and complete checkout, but the store began shopping my order well before that deadline. Because of that, several items I intended to purchase were suddenly unavailable and I was told they couldn't fulfill my full order. What made the experience worse was how dismissive and rude the interaction felt when I tried to ask about it. If customers are given a shopping deadline, the store should honor that time instead of starting orders hours early and then blaming the customer for missing items. It completely defeats the purpose of offering online ordering convenience. Very disappointing experience and poor customer service.

Today we purchased stuffed clams, crab cakes, and a large salmon fish head. We roasted the fish head spiced with fresh parsley, curry, salt, pepper, dill, and lemon juice along with heirloom tomatoes. See photo for picture. Yes, the salmon head was enough for two at lunchtime. We loved it! We are having the crab cakes and stuffed clams tonight. The seafood department is a favorite of ours, but let's not forget about others at this fine store. Fresh produce is always just as they claim--fresh! The selection is broad. The meat and deli departments are noteworthy--varied cuts of beef, poultry selection galore, sliced cheeses/meats, and unique salads. Note that homemade shrimp salad is at the seafood counter. Now skip to present day...Still the friendliest grocery. During the covid-19 social distancing, employees are taking all precautions. Owners John and Debbie are actively engaged with customers and staff, making regular announcements, spending time on the store floor, etc. Plastic screens are at all registers. The store is clean and orderly. Easy access along Route 93, plenty of parking, a nearby pharmacy, and a few restaurants with carryout make this an ideal grocery stop. It is the friendliness of the staff and owners that make it so nice to shop there. I for one don't want or need the big flash or pomp that many NEW grocery stores hype! I like the friendliness, kindness, and good work ethics I find in Gould's!
