My wife and I relied on Yelp reviews to contact Mountain High Painting and obtain a bid to paint our 3 story mountain cabin. Jeff Hall, owner, arrived on time with two co-workers and provided a bid. We accepted the bid and were being placed on their schedule when Covid-19 hit. Jeff kept in contact during the shelter in place order and kept giving us potential start dates once the shelter in place order was amended. Our cabin is a three story cedar cabin that we know hasn't been painted or stained in the 24 years we've owned it. Natural discoloration occurred over time and we were concerned that to cover the discoloration we would have to go dark, very dark, like possibly Darth Vader dark! Jeff provided the product to provide coverage and retain the natural grain of the wood. Success! We found Jeff and his crew to be professional at all times. He stayed in contact, responded to emails and telephone calls, prepped the house, stained, painted and cleaned up without any issues. We had the most wonderful experience having Jeff Hall paint the decks and stairs of our vacation home in Pollock Pines. we started with an estimate appointment that went very smoothly. Jeff was prompt, communicative and very pleasant to deal with. They were booked months in advance, so the work wasn't done until October (2-3 months after estimate was given). But being a second home, we weren't able to be there for the work. We had no hesitation to give him and his crew access to our property since it was exterior work only. The best thing is they called me 3-4 times before starting to give me an update on timing of the work. his wife, Dawn, who also works in the company, was also fantastic to deal with. the work was done to a very high quality and they only use Benjamin Moore paint, which lasts longer than many other brands. I was in search of a painter to stain a huge 2,000 square foot deck. I went to The Paint Spot to inquire who purchases the most stain in this area. They provided me with four names and I interviewed all four. I selected Jeff at Mountain High Painting because he showed up on time to bid the job, and was the lowest most competitive in pricing. I spoke with his wife/scheduler Dawn who was so professional and friendly. She set my expectations properly on what the job would consist of and approximate time for completion. Jeff and his three person crew arrived on time, and I found out that two of the crew were his adult sons. They knew all about their industry, and the love and respect that they gave Jeff made me so glad that I chose them. They did everything that they promised, and the job turned out even better than I had hoped! They worked so hard and didn't cut corners (removed all of the prior stain - sometimes sanding on their hands and knees when it was hard to remove). They applied the stain on their hands and knees which allowed them to make sure that every board absorbed the stain, that the stain got in the gaps between the boards, and there were no stain drips on my items stored under the deck! I am scheduling them to come and paint my entire kitchen which is a room that I spend quite a bit of time in. If you have to wait for them it is worth the wait! read more

Working with Jeff was very easy. He was prompt in coming out to give me an estimate and then provided it to me right away so I didn't have to wait. He was a couple hundred dollars more than the lowest bid but a friend had used him before and really liked his work. So glad I used him. Two days before starting he came over to mark each area with the color of paint and make sure we were on the same page. He said it would take 4 days to complete 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, laundry area and kitchen ceiling and pantry and well as some closets. He was right on time which allowed me to continue with the other house preparations for putting the house up for sale. He left the work area very clean and found no areas were the paint dribbled on carpets or floors. Would definitely use Jeff again if I was staying in the area. read more

Also used a great sealant first on the deck to further extend the life. They also painted interior oak kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Used a primer that really smoothed out the grain.
