YES, there are a lot of rules and for a good reason!! If you don't want to come here to only swim or play Marco Polo, go somewhere else. (You can't roughhouse, do flips, splash, give "piggy back rides" ", partake in any game the involves breath work, etc.). Many people were told by the lifeguards where were rules on what was acceptable in the pool, which has yet to be found on the website. There are bathrooms, changing areas, showers, and a free splash pad outside the pool area. There is a designated food and eating area, but l've notice people "claim" the tables, even when not eating at them. Very inconsiderate for others who want to sit in the shade or eat. ****And note to patrons; PLEASE STOP SPRAYING YOUR SUN BLOCK NEAR THE FOOD TABLES. Sprayed food doesn't taste good

As a Middletown resident, I'm always looking for fun, family-friendly activities to enjoy with my…read morechildren. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this pool to families with kids. The splash pad is great, and the pool itself is beautiful, but the environment doesn't feel welcoming to children. There are so many restrictions--no running, no splashing, no touching, no diving, no jumping--that it feels like kids aren't allowed to simply enjoy being in the water. Expecting children not to splash while swimming is unrealistic and takes away from the experience. What made our visit even more disappointing was the attitude of some of the staff. The female lifeguards were unpleasant and came across as rude throughout our visit, while the male lifeguards were polite and respectful. My 14-year-old daughter even felt uncomfortable because one of the female lifeguards repeatedly gave her dirty looks, despite her not causing any problems. Families should be able to enjoy a public pool without feeling like they're constantly being watched or made uncomfortable. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and works on creating a more welcoming atmosphere for children and families.

A 5-star private social club in the Platinum Clubs of America, it is situated on Whitney Avenue near the Yale University campus, and two blocks from Ingalls Rink and State Street (home to Modern Apizza, our favorite in the Pizza Capital of the World). The New Haven Lawn Club offers five comfortable, spacious overnight guest rooms and one suite, a main dining room seating 200, and a grand ballroom seating 300 that was being used for a wedding reception the night we stayed there. The fitness center and four squash courts are open 24x7. Outdoors, there is a pool, toddler pool, eight Hart-tru tennis courts, two paddle courts and a playground. Guests enjoy free parking and wifi. We enjoyed pre-game cocktails in the bar off the Grill Room, accommodating 100, where lunch and dinner are served Wednesday-Saturday, and where seasonal Sunday brunch and supper are available. A unique feature of the club is art exhibits hung in the rotunda outside the Grill Room. Rebuilt in 1931 after a fire destroyed the original two years earlier, the clubhouse was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 2003. It also is designated A New Haven Landmark by the New Haven Preservation Trust.
