I stumbled across Hunter. The course is in excellent shape. The fairways were maybe a little soft from the rain but thick and lush. Some of the greens were faster than others, but that's golf. Unfortunately, I played about as poorly as I have in the year since I took the game back up, but I can hardly blame that on Hunter. The staff we worked with were absolutely wonderful, especially Paul, Peyton, and Parker. Peyton worked tirelessly throughout the event to help orchestrate everything and make sure every detail came together perfectly. No matter what we needed, they never told us "no" - they were incredibly accommodating and genuinely cared about making our vision happen. The food was fantastic, everything ran smoothly, and the room looked beautiful. Overall, the event came out even better than we could have imagined, and we are so grateful to the entire team for helping make it such a special and successful day. We would absolutely recommend Hawks Landing for an event!

We made the mistake of thinking this place operated that way. As our experience proved they don't, we left. We waited. We tried. Seven minutes, to be asked - do you need something? True story. We won't go back. There are other great places in this town who will show attention to patrons and not treat us as if we are intruding in them.

They clearly haven't been rolled at all this year. Also, the rough was absurd. Couldn't find balls that were clearly in play. One of my associations had a twilight golf event here and Miner Hills was terrific to deal with, they easily worked with us on the catering and food service. Super reasonable cost for golf and carts, and we dealt with some very nice people at the pro shop organizing the evening. Yay, I'm a fan!!

A short 9-hole course that's not as easy as you might expect…read more Miner Hills is a family run course (and driving range) that has a very friendly staff. The atmosphere is laid back, as this is very much a course that's welcoming to the general public. It's a Par 30 with six par 3's and three par 4's. Every hole is under 300 yards. However, the par 4 7th is straight uphill and the par 3 before it plays close to 200 yards uphill from the white tees. The course is kept in fairly good condition and there was a crew leaf-blowing when I played there. It's hard to play with a yellow ball and hit into all those leaves! While there are not too many hazards here, most of the fairways and approaches are relatively narrow. There are some small greens too and the slopes can be tough to judge. The prices are fair, but when I saw a deal of $9 for 18 holes and a cart (seriously?!) on GolfNow, I could not pass it up. I believe the rate is usually $21 or so. The cart also had a lot of pep. Probably the fastest cart I've used on any course! I will be coming back here in the future!

The course is usually in pretty good shape. There is only turf mats and your not supposed to hit a driver off the driving range because it's very short. The biggest issue is the hills on the course. Where everyone looked out for one another, and treated eachother well. This is certainly no longer the vibe, the staff is very unfriendly and lack common golf knowledge. Every morning my email is getting blasted with a new set of niche rules, everywhere you look, there is a sign explaining new rules and things to consider. This is a community of people who have been golfing here for 15+ years, it would be nice to get treated as such, rather than having every move watched and reviewed by these new corporate policies.

So, for me, a 9 hole, par-3, public golf course where I can play night golf and throw back a few cold bruskis is the perfect place for me. I am not concerned with the quality of the greens, difficulty of the course, depth of the rough, or any of the other things real golf enthusiasts might care about. "Easy" golf courses are challenging enough for me as it is. That being said, Highland Greens is the only lit golf course in the C-T. There's something really cool about playing night golf that makes it more fun (probably because if I suck I can just blame it on the fact that it's too dark). If you're a casual golfer who is looking for a place to go, or if you've always wanted to give it a shot but were afraid of looking stupid, this is the perfect place. And since it'll only run you $13-15 for 9 holes, it won't break the bank either.
