I suggest that if you want a veterinarian who is willing to communicate with pet parents as well as…read morereally care for the welfare of your pet, then you should look elsewhere. The low marks are mostly for poor communication from both Dr. Hill and his office staff. I also feel this office works like a production line rather than as a caring pet physician. Dr. Hill still mostly does mostly drop off appts, and my in-person visit had to be booked 2 months out as they only have a few in-person visit slots. He also does not provide visit notes like our previous vet did. I would be fine with a drop off visit and a phone call, but the call never happens, at least in my experience with this office. Example 1: My dog Penny needed an x-ray of neck/shoulders for pain. When I picked her up, the receptionist handed me Rimadyl for her to take with no explanation. I asked for the x-ray report which she said isn't available to me. She offered for Dr. Hill to call that evening which I readily accepted. He never called. I didn't receive a diagnosis for her pain until a year later at our in-person visit. Receiving that diagnosis is the main reason I waited for an in-person appt this year Example 2: I dropped off my dog Buddy for dental cleaning October 2022. When I picked him up the receptionist handed me two different painkillers and an antibiotic and said take until gone. No other post-op instruction, either verbal or written. I asked why the need for meds and found that Dr. Hill had removed 5 teeth! I was quite upset at that; my dog had shown no signs of pain either to me or when he saw Dr. Hill for annual exam just 4 months earlier. Five teeth! Because I was upset, I spoke firmly but not loudly, I was allowed to speak with the technician - that doesn't happen otherwise. The tech said all 5 teeth were abscessed. I still don't believe all 5 were bad. Dr. Hill called me that evening and, apparently because I questioned the need for 5 teeth to be removed, he was firing me. He said that "You join a long list of people fired from his practice". My first thought is why have you fired so many patients? My second thought is that he has messed up with a lot of other patients since he fires you when you are unhappy with something he has done. I had been unhappy with Dr. Hill a long time and had made a conscious decision to change vets after the dental cleaning so the bad feelings would not transfer to the new vet. I am sorry I made that decision rather than changing vets prior to the dental, and my poor Buddy paid the price. Please think of your pet and find another vet.

They are now doing business under the name Collegiate Peaks Veterinary with Dr.Pierce…read more On January 2nd we took our perfectly healthy cat into Dr.Pierce for a routine teeth cleaning. What happened next is nothing short of horror. The tech giving the anesthesia screwed and killed our cat. I can't put into words how much grief we have and how much we miss our fuzzy family member. Everyday we wake up and he's not here greeting us with his snuggles and silliness and everyday we are reminded of this senseless mistake done at this clinic. What's even more frustrating is there is little a person can do to get any justice other than leave a lousy review. It's business as usual for the clinic with no consequences. When we said our goodbyes to our cat before his cremation Dr.Pierce's arrogance was over the top when he came out to my car to confront us about warning anyone not too use his clinic. Still saying he's the best vet around. He was hesitant to fire the vet tech and to this day I am not sure if the tech is still there but not. This situation just left us feeling like he cares much more about his reputation and making money than he did about killing our cat. I just hope this never happens again in his clinic because I can't tell you how much it hurts to put your trust into a vet and then literally have them kill your pet. To be blindsided by the sudden death of our pet is a heartache we shouldn't have had to be put through and it's unforgivable.

Leads me to believe he's prescribing expensive medications to ensure his recurring revenue stream at the cost of trusting patrons. After research I found that he recommended the wrong dose for my dogs size anyway!! I've actually had more caring interactions from the mega pet company than I did at his office. Was our first time meeting them and they did not even introduce themselves. We won't be back!
