Never received a written response to any communication from the website inquiry box, or direct emails. After several calls "oh, yes received your email two days ago. We will get back with you. Never did. Finally we drove to Oh Be Dogful facility (not impressive), and decided to give up dealing with them. History: We visited CB for three days in July, 2021. Multiple attempts to board our two dogs, multiple emails and voice mails. Sent all pet records over prior ... left us hanging until "day of" and finally received a voice mail they couldn't accept our golden, until she received her booster shot which was one month expired. No problem if we'd received some feedback prior, we could have easily updated her shots. Wished we would have initially dealt with Dog Cabin in Gunnison. It was just blindness on my part - thinking Only CB. But Gunnison is an easy commute from Almont (where we were staying) and close enough to Crested Butte. BTW our Dog Cabin experience was EXCEPTIONAL.

When I asked if there was another dog daycare around the area that she could refer me to, she rudely said there's one in Gennison but with a tone said, "but If I were you I wouldn't take my dog. They have a fantastic program set up for residents and visitors to the Aspen area where you can go and take the dogs for a walk, or a hike or spend the day with them at the park or your favorite coffee shop. Each dog is equipped with a coat that lets everyone know that he's "ADOPTABLE". That's what brought us in to just "look at" the dogs... The cages for the animals are large and clean, there is a HUGE area in the back with giant boulders that the big dogs can run up on and overlook the Aspen airport as well as the whole valley. The area where you can meet your prospective adoptee is also huge with park benches, a tree, balls and doggie treat so you can really hang out with and check out how your dog is going to behave. To help with funding they also offer grooming and boarding on premises. I think this place should be the model for all other shelters everywhere.. Just an amazing process and facilities. We couldn't be happier with our mixed breed lab pup.

The shelter is completely kill-free, so animals come from all over the states to be sheltered here. Adopting is easy, and the pet comes neutered/spayed and with all its shots. You can go and help socialize pets, or take them out for the day, a simple walk, a hike, or even take one home for the night! All of these animals are great souls who just want someone to love and be loved by. The facilities are wonderful and have been completely revamped from what they used to be. Located right across from the airport, it is easy to get to, so stop by and say hello! Maybe you'll walk away with a new family member!
