Filled with Northwoods charm, the Main Street Inn is unequivocally Crandon. My house was having…read moresome work done so we needed a place to crash for two nights. I called ahead and booked a two full size bed room. When I called I asked for the cost of two nights I was told $65. Sold! (In case you are wondering, yes this was too good to be true later on.) The room is small but clean, with the exception of a few cobwebs on the AC system. The walls look hand decorated with rustic designs an some wall art. The room feels a little cramped but it had large windows that helped bring in some natural light. One star was lost because the shower was terrible. I was told they recently cleaned the shower heads so I dont know if that had anything to do with it. The pressure kept changing and was so weak I could barely get the soap off my body. I ended up just running the tub to rinse off and the drain piece floated up from the bottom. BRING YOUR OWN SOAP AND SHAMPOO. They offer bars of soap but they were awful. Also when you turn on the main light it makes this constant very loud humming noise. You stop hearing it after a while. One of those most frustrating experiences was checking out. I called to ask where to leave my key and asked why I was emailed a bill for $143 when I asked for the amount of two nights and was told $65. I specifically asked because for $180 plus tax I could have stayed at the best Western with a pool, hot tub, and free breakfast. I truly asked how much for both nights and the call was scratchy so I am giving the benefit of the doubt. When asking for the cost of two nights i expected a total, but was apparently told the cost of one night. It could have been the call but I think its quite shady to say the cost of one night when asking for the cost of both. The managers wife then proceeded to ask how stupid I could be, and I lost my temper. I am writing this review from a much cooler head because the owner did come to our room and apologize for his wife's childish behaviour. She eventually came out and made an insincere apology as well before stomping off. He offered to refund the one night but I don't like undercutting small businesses and declined. I personally will not be staying here during future renovations and will pay the little extra to stay in a more spacious room and better amenities. If you dont plan to spend any real time in your room this would be a good spot to save a few bucks and get the bare bones.

Didn't hear a peep through the walls and floors, so there's that. Lots of hot water and plenty of water pressure too, one of the upsides of older hotels. Smells like someone died in the hallways even through my mask! Not sure what's up with that and from the other reviews it looks like it's an ongoing problem. Less tolerant types would be upset to stay here. Checked in late and left early, never really had the chance to hook up my Xbox or to check Wi-Fi.

We were given keys to a room, but when we opened the door we found the room had someone's items strewn about, including a suitcase on the bed. This should not be possible at any hotel, let alone a reputable chain. Rooms must be checked and confirmed empty before they can be sold to another person, and a room must never be sold while occupied. The next room provided was nice, and the staff was so accommodating. I'd love to give it a high rating, but there is no way to overlook such a severe problem. I am hopeful this was a fluke, but such an incident can only happen if there are significant problems within multiple levels of both staffing and management; clearly beyond the fault of any single individual.

We…read morewere referred to Crystal Bell by a friend who said the B&B is charming and the owners are wonderful, even that didn't prepare us for the amazing experience we had at Crystal Bell. Donna and Mike renovated the entire house and put their personal touches in the most thoughtful ways. The place is meticulously cleaned, decorated, and organized. We were greeted with home made cookies and offered wide range of delicious drinks by Donna, followed by a tour of the house when Donna and Mike shared with us the history of the house, it immediately impressed my husband and I how much they love to host their guests and how much they love the place. They have VERY high standards for themselves on the experience they want their guests to have. They have everything you could ever need on a trip ready for you where/when you need it, Mike even offered me a leg pillow! The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfy. The next morning, our breakfast was egg ham croissants, rhubarb shortcakes and grapefruits, all sorts of beverages options, and to top it off, each of us were given a piece of freshly baked pastry for our long drive back to Chicago. I use Yelp frequently but rarely wrote reviews. I feel compelled to write about Donna and Mike and their lovely B&B. Highly recommend this place for a home away from home, whether for a girlfriend weekend getaway, family reunions and other group functions, they truly embody MidWest warmth and hospitality!

She takes great care of the cabins and always has great suggestions when you ask her about anything local from food to activities. The property is great for walks and there's some horses and donkeys to check out too. Our dogs always feel at home on the ranch. We love to ride ATV trails and Spur of the Moment has trail access. You ride from your front door to anywhere you like in the area, no trailering. On our last trip we brought a side x side and all the great trails permitted our lager machine. All of the meals we ate out we did by riding our machines to and Ann supplied us with maps so we knew where we were going. The trail system has so many local and long distant places to go to it's good for beginners as well as veterans. Last thing that we've always enjoyed is the other guests. The Ranch is not only good to ATV'ers it's VERY horse friendly. On a busy weekend you can have all types of guests and on every trip we've done it's never mattered what you're into, people are just friendly. It's flat out relaxing.
