A client of mine was moved to this facility for hospice care. When I visited her, she was always clean and calm. She was not over-medicated and passed peacefully. Mountain View CC staff collaborated well with the hospice staff assigned, and supported my client's wishes. The building itself is clean and did not smell of anything in particular, which is nice. The hallways are wide, light and airy, the staff friendly and helpful. There always seemed to be something social/interactive going on for patients who were able to participate. I am heartbroken and truly disgusted by the way this facility is treating my mother and other residents. When we chose this place, we thought we were investing in a loving, safe environment where my mother could live out her golden years healthy, happy, and cared for. At nearly $100,000 a year, we expected nothing less than dignity, comfort, and quality. Sadly, that isn't happening. Recently, I was shocked to learn what has been happening with meals. Since a new staff member took over in the kitchen, my mother and others are being served substandard food that is nowhere near acceptable. For breakfast, residents don't even get butter for their toast anymore. Instead of coffee and juice, they are given watery, powdered iced tea. What they call a "meal" is appalling--something like a single teaspoon of eggs. It's absolutely unacceptable. When families like mine put our trust--and our hard-earned money--into a facility like this, it comes with the expectation that our loved ones will be cared for with compassion and respect. Instead, I see my mother unhappy, deprived, and even losing weight. That is devastating to witness. If something as basic as food is being compromised, it makes me fear what else might be going on behind closed doors. Elder care is supposed to be about dignity and humanity. It is one of the highest responsibilities in our society--to care for those who can no longer fully care for themselves. To treat vulnerable people this way is not just shameful, it borders on abusive. My mother, and every resident in this facility, deserves far better. Families make enormous sacrifices to provide comfort and security for their loved ones here. What is currently happening is despicable, and it needs to change. read more

They smell like hot piss 24/7 the workload is a task away from slavery. All the residents look sickly, the nurses are always complaining and in mood and miserable. Its nasty . Sad that the state would rather make money on citations then close the doors of less than mediocre facilities that are no place to live out your last days. You can smell the facility from outside. I personally had to keep walking outside for fresh air. The trash bins should be cleaned or something. I wouldnt recommend working or putting some body you say you live in there. Just close down bleach, pant, really demolished and start all over would be best. No losses not being apart of this company. I should have know when I found out it was part of Torrey pines. Amazing facility and amazing staff this nursing home has come a really long way. Residents and staff are well taken care of.

Don't judge this facility by the exterior, it's what's on the inside that counts and bottom line they have wonderful staff who truly care about their residents. I can say from experience they listen to residents and family, and when I had concerns they were addressed My name is Teri Engel and I am the guardian of a resident at Mt View Care Center, she has resided there for over 10 years. This small long-term care facility is located on the outskirts of Boulder City. Every time I come into this building the residents are always really engaged with the activities going on in the dining room. So nice to see Most of the staff seemed very friendly and talkative to the guests coming and going out of the facility. C major highlight of this facility I have to say is the rehab staff!
