I was a patient at another office. I was experiencing a dental emergency and my office told me they were just too busy right before Christmas. My condition worsened and I was just worried I was going to lose my tooth. I figured I would just start calling offices and hope they might be open. The lady who answered the phone got me to Shandy to make an appointment in an hour. Amber and Larissa were the assistants who helped me. Dr Lybert and the hygienist Lindsey all helped me. I was in tears and everyone was kind and understanding. Lindsey was absolutely a saint with giving anesthetic and Dr Lybert was so amazing getting me fixed up. I would recommend this office to anyone I know is scared of dentistry or someone just looking to establish with a dentist. I'm so amazed by everyone and the treatment I received. I can't thank the office enough for how well they treated me. I am on the way to improvement! read more

Over priced ; rude to IHS and VA patients. Long wait in lobby with no privacy for patients receiving bad service from office personnel.

Nothing but a money-making machine. I was there for a crown, and I am so sorry I went there. I will NEVER go back. First: Overpriced. Second: The clinic was so fully-booked that the dentist, I believe Dr. Carlin is his name, was extremely rushed, speaking with me as though he's had a hit of amphetamines. He and the assistant didn't want to visit a bit, get to know me. Not at all. I felt like a bug. They've got too many patients and too much money to make to be truly civil. The dentist's instructions for aftercare sounded like a disclaimer at the end of a pharmaceutical commercial. Third: They charged our Health Savings card a 3.95% fee, treating it like a credit card. That is BS. They stole almost $40 from our health savings, in addition to getting $1800 for a crown. The finance manager claimed it was the processing company, but I happen to know that at the clinic up in Ruidoso, this fee was waived. I have the paperwork to prove it. Fourth: On my return visit to have the crown cemented in, the assistant was icy. Superficially polite, and quite passive aggressive in her mannerisms and way of speaking with me. Fifth: The help out front obnoxiously rude. One truly feels that one is intruding. Sixth: Their fiendish cancellation fee? How can that be legal? They fill the spot with another person immediately. My finally analysis? They are money-grubbing creeps. read more

Again, my daughter had an appointment for 1030 am. Wife tried to cancel 23.5 hrs before the day prior. They were not flexible at all with the $75 cancelation fee. Never will step in this place again. I had a similar incident. They call to remind you a week prior. Not the day before. Why be so money hungry? Dentists usually make more than some MDs. read more

We come here as a family for both dental and Ortho. Service: Always awesome! No matter what we're going into the office for they are always friendly and attentive. Dentists are good but the policy of charging $75.00 for a missed appointment even if you call because of illness is crappy. It seems they are more concerned with scheduling than keeping clients. beware of their policies before you go. I have been a patient for over 15 years but Dr. Westover, the original owner, has lost his mission to care for the medical needs and thinks the $75.00 is more important to keep clients from canceling. Look some where else before committing to this clinic. They are more concerned with scheduling than your needs. Dentists are great but customer service is the worst experience. They are ridged, at times rude, and even snippy. As I said, after 15 years I am going elsewhere. I just don't need the abuse from office staff. Also, I have always been on time for appointments but they have not offered the same. I, on occasion have waited 40 minutes before being called, but I didn't charge them a late fee. read more

They are super organized, the staff is always friendly, and knowledgeable ( which helps when your not a huge fan of dental work) I've never had a reason to complain since I've been coming here. Ive had crowns and whitening taken care of and their prices are reasonable for the quality of care and products you receive. Never been to this Dentist office before and talked with Jose on the phone and got me in same day. Everyone was so pleasant and I had an extraction that went like clock work. The Dentist did a great job. I felt nothing! They also take Care Credit which is helpful. Would recommend without a doubt! read more

From Jose who got me in on the same day for an urgent appt (!), to Andrea, Barbara and Dr. Walker, the treatment I received was professional, compassionate, thorough and extremely gentle. The office has a wonderful energy - positive and kind. They came up with an excellent (and comfortable) solution to get me through until I can come back for a crown replacement. They take their time to do things right, explain what they have found and worked with me to figure out the best approach that would fit with our schedule and budget. The dental hygienist doesn't listen to a word you say, everything that comes out of her mouth is very condescending and rather snotty. The office hours are 8a-5p, but heaven forbid you call at 4:30 or 15 minutes after opening time! They won't answer the phone. They should just say our hours are whenever the heck we feel like it. read more

Called Mountain View after our orthodontist quit practicing. Scheduled a visit to have retainer checked and look at other retainer options. Told them when I scheduled that we would have to do the retainer removal that day as my daughter is in college and would be leaving town the next day. We did not get the retainer off that day and were told to schedule when she came home for break. Scheduled the appointment. The minute I hung up the phone, received a text message that the time had been changed. The day of the appointment were called and said we had missed our appointment. People's time is valuable and this office staff has no consideration for it. The staff treats you as if you are less of a person because you need their help. I can't really comment on the orthodontist. He seemed fine, we saw him one time for about 2 minutes. I would not recommend this practice. Staff was open and super friendly! Very professional! It was a Blessing! Rooms were open corridors. The Dental owners children were able to play and run around today at least. We were treated with utmost respect. No surprises! Rooms were bright! I was able to check on ALL 3 of my children NO Problemo! Today there was a bouncy house. Coming from FW this was refreshing! Maybe in future they would consider Kid themed Murals, wifi, coffeebar & accepting Dental discount Programs. This staffs overwhelming Generosity gave this mom Peace of Heart!!! read more

I went to Mt. View Dental many, many times for so many teeth for so many months in 2019 and 2020. They wanted me to get a bridge and filled lots of cavities. And they urged me to get (another) root canal in Las Cruces, which I did. And yet as it turned out, I finally found out that they and a dentist in Las Cruces and another in Alamogordo were all bad. There was the need to have all that work done and pay all that money, and spend so much time. I finally did not do more work that they wanted to do (surprise, surprise) and went to a good high quality office in the Dental District up 29 floors above Tijuana, B.C. Then the truth came that the work urgently required was bogus! Merely a dark area. It's said that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Well, money IS power, and it corrupts. Yes, the people there at the office were nice to get my continue money. So now I do not trust American dentists or whatever specialty they call themselves. In the almighty dollar is what people trust, and it doesn't matter who, at least here in the U.S. - family included. Sorry, but that's better than not knowing, and now you know. read more

Dr. Westover made my day today! Last night my three-year-old son fell and hit his face on the tile and knocked a tooth out of place. I called Dr. Westover on his after hours cell phone last night and he was very kind and empathetic to my situation. After looking at a couple pictures that I sent him he advised I come in for an x-ray today. I was worried about paying out-of-pocket for my sons appointment as he was not in rolled in our dental insurance yet. When I came in today the staff was amazing and Dr. Westover did a great job working with my son and diagnosing him. He ended up giving us an amazing discount even though my son was not covered by insurance! Thank you Mountain View dental and Dr. Westover! read more

My wife retired from the Air Force on 1 April 2019. Knowing we would need dental insurance, I called Mountain View Dental in March 2019 and asked the young man who answered the phone what dental insurance plan they would recommend for good dental coverage if we enrolled as dental patients at Mountain View. He recommended MetLife High, so that's exactly what we did, effective 1 May 2019. First week of May 2019, we called Mountain View to schedule routine semi-annual dental cleanings under our new MetLife coverage. Mountain View easily verified our dental insurance, but then dropped a very unexpected bomb on us...they had absolutely NO new patient appointments available until mid-September 2019! A 4-month wait for routine x-rays and cleanings. This is how they run a professional medical practice? Of course, we made the appointments they offered in September 2019 because everybody says Mountain View is the best dental show in town, but our first impression from the delay in care is not positive. I suppose we'll see what happens in September 2019 after that initial exam and cleaning. read more
