I was short 80 cents and was going to go to my car to get the 80 cents, but a wonderful staff member said she would take care of it. This Dr denied my prescription for my service dog because he said I was looking for a new clinic. Why in the world would I look for a new clinic until he denied me the prescription for my service dog. Yes, I said I would have to look for someone else if he refused to fill any medication for my service dog. I did have to take her to Mountain View Humane to get her spayed due to my disability and lack of income. I thought at one time Blacksburg Animal Clinic was the best! This is not the case after DR Watson bought the clinic. He actually spoke with me on the phone as well and was very hateful and domineering. I tried to explain and he said he would send my medical records to whoever I wanted, then blocked my number as I only had a few hours to choose a new vet. I then emailed him to try to explain because he wouldn't give me a chance to speak on the phone when he called back. I said I'd have no choice to report him to the state board and DCA. He just gave me a hateful answer and then proceeded to tell me to do as I see fit. It's like he doesn't care! Who wants a vet like this?

By the early afternoon one of the veterinarians rang me, and went onto express she had contracted an ear infection. He administered some medication, and explained I shouldn't have to worry moving forward. When I picked her up she was clearly feeling much better. Since the visit Millie has been just fine. I'm most thankful for everything the folk at BAC did for her. They are officially Mill's vet! Thanks again y'all!

During the physical exam, instead of asking me to assist with restraint, which has worked well with other veterinarians, Dr. McCormick began pinning my dog firmly against the exam table in an attempt to control him. My dog became extremely distressed and ultimately urinated and defecated during the restraint. The level of force used felt excessive given that his anxiety and reactivity had been clearly communicated. I had to intervene and remove my dog from the situation. I understand that reactive dogs can be challenging to examine, but I expected a more collaborative and low-stress approach. Based on this experience, I will not be returning to this clinic.

I had to call multiple times to get the test results from Companion. I felt like I was a bother - not a client. Dr Fabrizi there was the only one who did at least acknowledge the symptoms.

I requested something that would last longer since I was shipping out in a month. They finally gave me bravecto which last 3months. I then had to write two different checks because the woman upfront wasn't paying attention to the total nor was my bill itemized. I have no idea how much the visit costed. I called before I showed up and was never informed that they only accept cash or check. Would have been nicer to know that before hand. During the week I had to wait before they could see him, he really went downhill, and died the very next day after that vet visit. The mass on his side was a cancerous tumor that grown so large it had taken up all the space in the lower part of his body. I felt something was not right the day I first saw that bulge on him. Dr. Butler discovered after a few check-ups that she had a polyp that needed surgery to remove. Throughout her appointments leading up to and the day of the surgery, Dr. Butler and the techs were wonderful with their care and treatment of Vera. They are incredibly kind and take the utmost caution with making sure that the animals they treat are as healthy as possible. Today I took Vera in for her first post-op appointment. Dr. Butler had been called-in on her day off for another patient (which caused a delay in Vera being seen) and personally decided to stay and see Vera herself. I was immediately called and informed of her decision and then within 15 minutes she called to let me know that Vera seemed to be healing quite well and would bring her right. Dr. Butler brought Vera to my car and informed me that there was no charge for appointment today, as a result of the wait time and "what a good patient she is". I am so grateful that this clinic exists and that not only are they the most wonderful staff, but they are affordable too. I am a student in the area and Vera is my first pet I've had on my own and I would not have been able to have the success I have with her without All For Paws. I would also like to point out that all of this has taken place during the COVID-19 crisis and that this clinic has done a fantastic job adapting to appropriate health and safety practices while still providing quality care. Dr. Jordan correctly diagnosed a critical condition and began to treat him. He had to be moved to a hospital, but I credit Dr. Jordan and the staff with saving his life.
