I only meant to start out with a 2-hour tour but enjoyed the challenge so much that we went for an extra hour and it was a great personalized tour. We did just over 17 miles and I plan to come back at some point, hopefully for snowboarding lessons too.

We paddled through sun, rain, and hail, all in one trip! Epic, I tell u!! Our guides, Marcus and Robby were the best! Super cool dudes who were super knowledgeable! They kept us safe and made the experience such a blast! Colorado had the lowest snowfall this past winter so the river was really low and rapids were on the slow side. Make sure to check river flow and CSF levels if u decide to book this adventure so that u're not surprised by the low flow. The river only clocked in at 620 cfs when we ran it, so we didn't have too many big rapids and drops, but it was a very technical run and such a blast to experience this ultimate and wild experience with my hubby!!

River guiding is clearly in her blood and the generations of river guides in her family must be proud. She is equal parts expert guide and fun banterer. If you're 8 or 80 or somewhere in between like us, you'll appreciate how Kaia gets down. No disrespect to any other river guides, but if Kaia doesn't win MVP of the week, they got to scrap this system and build back from the bottom up. On the other hand, there was one guide reportedly named ZB that was a complete vibe killer. If that guy wins, they also need to revamp this whole operation. Hope he enjoys a nice Dante's Inferno from Barber and the Bookcase and rethinks his approach to River guideship.

We drive up from Chandler Az 3 times a year to ski at Purgatory (well my son went to the dark side and snowboards) and it occurred to us to bring the broken board with us (damaged at Flagstaff). He brought the gear, snacks, lunch and a plan! He's incredibly knowledgeable about the outdoors and we loved learning from him about the area, plants and wildlife. We can't wait to go out with him again and try paddle boarding. (He might even convert us to try rock climbing). Can't say enough great things about Colin. As a family who are new to the area - we learned a ton and can't wait to send our friends and family out with Meraki also!

Destiny in the front office is nothing short of amazing. She's knowledgeable, courteous, and genuinely helpful--she reminds you of what great customer service used to feel like. And then there's Richard (aka "hernia guy"), who literally busted his gut helping folks out. He may not have lifted over his weight class for me, but he absolutely went above and beyond. I needed a couple of straps to secure a pallet on my trailer, and what did Richard do? He walked out to his own truck and grabbed a couple of his personal straps for me to use. He didn't know me from Adam--but that's just the typical MO for the whole team at Target Rental. If you need to rent anything in Durango, do yourself a favor and go see these folks. This is how customer service is supposed to feel.

The land was so extraordinary, the food was better than some 5 star restaurants we've been to, and the staff were down to earth and friendly. The owner of the ranch ate with us at almost all of our meals! Granted, we came during the pre-season so there weren't as many guests as usual, all the same, it was a real treat. Our cabin was so sweet and comfortable! It has everything you need, but not so much that you lose the ranch feel that you came for. We went on a full-day ride up a mountain, the views were as breathtaking as you you would expect, if not more so! The horses were very tame and well behaved. The wranglers were accommodating. We had a special day with the utility-man and his son, fly fishing. They have stocked ponds on the grounds full of huge trout that they are happy to cook up for you if you want! OH and I couldn't write a review of tho place without mentioning the humming birds! They have several feeders out on the porch and there at least a hundred (it would seem) Humming birds zooming by! They are so sweet and not a nuisance by any means... We thought they were so cool!! This place also offers mountain biking and other mountain activities in addition to horse back riding! We will be back! This place is worth every penny and every minute it takes you to get there! GO!

I went on an…read more'adults only' week and although I hadn't ridden in years, the wranglers perfectly matched me with a horse and my skills soared under their guidance. The riding started with scenic walks but progressed (based on everyone's ability) to challenging rides up to a 10k ft peak. The food was fantastic, not 'fussy' but delicious. hearty and plentiful. The cabins were as expected, although the bed was really firm. The shower was powerful and hot and perfect to come back to at the end of a 6 hour ride. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper because the squirrels party all night long. No TV's, internet or phone service in the cabins but you can use wi-fi in the main ranch house. My only phone signal for the week was at the top of a mountain. Then again, I took the trip to escape it all. At WTR, I learned to ride with confidence, rope, sort cattle and more. I also made some international friendships (the American West and cowboy culture is well marketed overseas). This vacation fulfilled my cowgirl dreams and the one thing I didn't expect... to leave the ranch in tears. Best vacation I've ever taken!
