Brought my recently purchased Lexus gx460 with 220K miles in to A+ on May 15 because of a "clunk"…read morethat could be heard inside and outside the car as well as actually feeling it. Was told that I would have to pay $800+ just to leave it with them but as long as they fixed the clunk for that amount I would be happy. When they called me the next day they gave me a pitch about the cost of Lexus parts and that there were codes indicating that the transmission and rear differential needed "servicing". They then told me the cost would be $8700 and I was shocked and asked if I could come pick up the car and they said they would have to put it all back together. I then asked if this would fix the "clunk" and he said he would guarantee it. On May 23 I paid the invoice and as soon as we drove it off, the "clunk" was still there....I returned the car on May 26 and now it is June 1st and the car is still at the shop still broken. So what they worked on did not fix the problem, should I have to pay for it? Do repair shop have carte blanche to say anything with a code needs overhauling?

He had some guy do something to the the wiring in my truck, crazy. I took it back a month later and he said he didn't know what the issue was but whenever it broke down to call him lol. I spent $1000.00 for that advice. Now it's been over a year and im still dealing with the same sensor. I've had several shops tell me to take it back to him and have him do the repair he was hired to do, but I don't think so. Be careful and make sure you get a print out if the work he does.

When I inquired about the reimbursement of $147 for the repair due to the fact that torque arm was one of the parts manipulated in Wendell's repair......... Was told to hold, was disconnected, and was ultimately told they'd call me back. I said I was coming to get it and take it someplace else and was told I couldn't. Then I was advised that the transmission has been taken to a different shop because they didn't have a mechanic there. "TRANSMISSIONS" is part of their name, I wasn't told they didn't have a mechanic there that could rebuild a transmission. I called around and they had a great price for alignment for my small wheels - only $69…read more I came in and they did it then asked if I wanted the "steering wheel reset" for an additional $85 after discount, and they said it would help a lot with driving. Not knowing any better, I agreed and paid for it all. Totaling to $154. I come to find out later that the steering wheel reset is supposed to be a step in the alignment process and the steering wheel reset doesn't actually affect if the car pulls to the left or right. Basically I got taken advantage of as someone who didn't know any better. Not coming back.
