We are SO glad to have had Rika Taylor as our Realtor. Here are a few reasons why:…read more 1. Rika has an eye like a hawk and she thinks out loud. Every house visit was like "going to school" because Rika analyzed everything (from the foundation to the gutters to the windows, etc) and explained what she was seeing and why it would matter to us in the long run. She was upfront and candid about flaws and things that would turn into future projects. We always felt in great hands and knew he had our best interests at heart. 2. She was patient and met us where we were in terms of our knowledge of the home-buying process. Over the course of our working relationship, she spent hours on the phone with us, walking us through different scenarios and helping us ensure we had everything financially to seize the right moment when it arrived. 3. She's savvy! She knows her market inside and out and, when we did find the right house, she helped us craft a solid, strategic offer that landed us our dream home! We would recommend Rika to our family, friends--anyone looking to buy a home in the Asheville area!

Last November we purchased a house in Weaverville, the Real Estate company that represented the…read moresellers was Mosaic Realty and the agent was Leann Bound. During the negotiation and subsequent sale, communication with our agent was extremely slow and we couldn't shake the feeling that they were playing games. We were told there were "multiple offers", "the sellers were very difficult to get hold of" and we only heard that our offer was accepted after waiting several days and finally providing a deadline. It made us feel manipulated throughout the process. Not the main reason for this review as it gets worse. A 2023 Kawasaki Mule side by side was included in our Purchase Agreement and was to be conveyed to us and was included in the contract purchase price. At closing, our attorney said that they had a document confirming the vehicle had been paid off and was free and clear of any liens, however they did not have the title, but expected it to be sent within the week. We closed on the house and waited for the title. Nothing for months. We finally contacted Leann who said it was not her job to follow up with the sellers and refused to give us the sellers contact information. We began contacting the owner of Mosaic, Michael Figuera and he basically gave us the run around and after a couple weeks of texts and emails he finally replied: "it was not his responsibility, stop contacting him, he was a real estate agent and anything else that conveyed with the contract was not his or Leann's concern"! After further research, we discovered that all we needed to obtain the title was a Bill of Sale from the sellers. I asked Michael Figuera one last time to contact the sellers for this and he replied that he had already done so, the sellers "don't want to be bothered and to stop contacting him". Months after the sale, I was able to finally get the contact info of one of the sellers and sent an email requesting the document and letting them know what we had been through with the DMV and how we'd asked Mosiac repeatedly to intervene and contact them for the document we needed. Shortly after I sent the email, the sellers responded immediately and said they were very surprised that the issue was not taken care of and that Micheal and Leann had never contacted them about it! They were very apologetic and quick to respond. So we finally received the Bill of Sale and were able to get the title from the DMV with no help whatsoever from Mosiac Realty and only encountered obstruction and a dismissive attitude. It's inconceivable that they were both complicit in doing everything they possibly could to not help when it would have been so much easier and professional to honor the terms of the contract in the first place and attempt to help us get the document we needed. What a horrible experience!

Our family ultimately decided not to put our house on the market, and such I can't give a full proper review to describe the whole experience. However, I will provide my account for the two months we worked with Lenoir. In a nutshell she was fantastic and provided one of the best experiences I've had working with a property agent of any kind. From the very beginning she was extremely attentive to our desires and talking through what was realistic in what we wanted to accomplish in selling the house and worked with us every step of way to conduct a thorough inspection of our own and helping triage all of the necessary things we needed to fix as a result. She was also fantastic in consulting with us on what we needed to improve aesthetically to make the house show well, and after we finally completed that work, we definitely agree that she was spot on with her recommendations. Ultimately though, she just has a great disposition and was fun to work with, and had no problems at all coordinating with us irrespective of whether we were in town or if we remote and available by email only. If we do decide to list this home in the future, she is the very first person I am reaching back out to.

Founded in 1968, Preferred Properties of Asheville agents have earned a sparkling reputation for integrity, professionalism, and unmatched customer service. We care deeply about Asheville, and consider our clients our neighbors, or our potential neighbors. Indeed, with two offices in the heart of downtown and Biltmore Forest, we are very much a part of the neighborhood. But perhaps the best testament to our service comes from the people who we share Asheville with. Ask anyone who has done business with us what the experience was like, ask anybody in town what kind of neighbors we are, and then ask yourself, "Are these the people I'd like handling my real estate business?" We're confident you'll answer, "Yes!"
