We put out a request for quotes on a fence replacement. We received several quotes over the coarse of a few weeks. The cheapest quote was $4,600. The quote we decided to go with was $5,400. The quote Cesar provided was $12,600. That's nearly three times as much as the cheapest, and more than double the median. That's for the same work, the same labor, the same materials, and the same structural design. The only real difference was that I solicited the quotes for the other contractors, and MY WIFE requested the estimate from Cesar. Why the vast disparity in the quotes?
