Extremely, horrifically dirty. Lost a phone under the chair a few months ago, it slipped through the gaps on the side of the chair when reclined. Handfuls upon handfuls of trash from under the seat needed to be sifted through just to find the phone. No wipes to clean it, either. Gross!! Disgusting place. You're sitting under years of trash swept under the chairs. Check under your reclined seats as soon as you enter your movie for garbage! Keep antibacterial wipes on standby incase it happens to you - they don't offer any for items that come into contact with their hygienic laziness, despite grease and debris being evident on it. My family has been coming here since it opened, and it is definitely a great movie theater in this area. The seats are super comfortable and the theaters are always clean. Recently, I've seen Wicked and Mufasa here. You can order food/drinks ahead on the app or in person at the bar or ordering counter. They deliver everything right to your seats and you can select the time of delivery. The food is pricey, but you can get a full meal here. I would say the pricing is comparable with other movie theaters, but the variety and food quality is better. I love their chicken sliders! The sweet potato waffle fries are also good... Ticket price is cheaper than regal and amc for Saturday nights. Big comfy seats that recline. The kids who bring the food to the seats are nice and helpful. You can order food and alcohol from a full menus. You can order before or during the movie and it's delivered to your seat. The platter seemed like a good idea in theory but was subpar. Not much food for the price. 3 boneless wings when they're 1/3 of the platter. Fried pickles have a weird seasoning flavor. Super thin so they're overcooked. Absolutely awful experience at Movie Tavern Exton for the 9:15 PM screening of Devil Wears Prada 2. We placed an order around 9:40 PM for a Dr Pepper and popcorn and waited nearly 50 minutes with nothing delivered. We finally had to leave the movie ourselves to figure out what happened. The manager's response was unbelievable. Instead of apologizing, he blamed the ordering system and questioned why we "didn't check sooner" because everything was already closed. Excuse me? We paid for a dine-in movie experience. Customers should not have to leave their movie and track down food they already paid for. To make matters worse, we missed about 15 minutes of the movie trying to resolve this issue and NEVER even received the drink we ordered. One employee, Sam Biely, was the only bright spot of the night. He stepped in, tried to help, and even offered to make popcorn despite the manager literally telling him "No, it's closed." Sam still chose to help anyway and showed more professionalism than management did the entire evening. He deserves recognition. The manager at this location should not be running a theater. Rude, unprofessional, not customer centric, and clearly unconcerned about customer experience. Still waiting on the refund. After reading the other reviews, it's clear this location has ongoing issues. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I really enjoyed my experience with the movie tavern as the staff were quick, quiet and so nice and the place was clean when we went. The only complaint (even though I expected this) is the PRICES of the food and drinks are NOT matching up to those tiny portions. Went dropped like $60-$70 on food for two people for portions that aren't even much. So first of all, it's a reason why this place gets 2.8 stars. I like to say that I have had some pretty OK experiences here.Newt is the man I think he might be one of the owners. But other than that, it's been kind of downhill. Every time we have gone back has been something else the last time we got a totally different order than what we asked for and then when they brought it out, it was cold. We talked to them about it, and they set us up with free tickets to a movie. now this is where it gets even worse we waited to use tickets for a new movie which was thunderbolt and we drove 20 minutes to get there when we got there. The lady proceeded to tell us that we could not use our free passes that we earned from their previous mess up on new movies. We have to wait for a movie to be out two weeks before we could use the passes. And honestly, I think this is a very unethical practice. It doesn't make any sense considering that movies are gonna be the same price two weeks after they come out and we earned those free passes from something that they did prior. I love this movie theater and I've always gone here but lately the service has been INSANE !! The last few times it's taken forever for our food to come to our seat and my fiancé has had to go ask to check on it . This time the food didn't even come out . When I asked to speak to a manager about this at the end of the movie , the guy said " oh this always happens " um are you kidding me ?! I did get a refund but be for real now . Went here for the first time earlier this week. We did not order food, and everything went fine. Went here today (Saturday) for a matinee (just two of us; reserved and paid for our seats online). Ordered food and a glass of wine ahead of time online and paid for it. When we got to the theater, 5 mins before the assigned movie start, some guy was sitting in my seat (which I had reserved online) and I had to ask him to move. How rude. When you reserve seats online, people can check to see which ones are open, so why would he take a seat someone else had reserved?! There were plenty (and I mean PLENTY) of other seats empty and not sold. Then we got our food (pre-ordered online) and two items were delivered, but not the glass of (expensive) wine. The server when asked said someone else was going to bring it to us soon. Finally after waiting a long time, my husband went out to inquire about where the wine was that we had prepaid for. The staff seemed clueless, so he bought me (another) glass of wine to replace the one they never delivered.. $$$$$ wasted. It goes without saying that the food and wine is extremely expensive. The serving tables attached to the seats were surprisingly dirty; and had obviously not been wiped between showings. The floors beneath the seats were filthy, and the railings on the stairs were extremely sticky. Probably will not go to this theater again. Only went here because they had the one particular movie we wanted to see. This place can and should do better. read more

Movie tavern has been our go to Theater for all our Marvel movies (and we only go to Theaters for Marvel movies) (Shoutout to fellow Marvel movie fans). Normally we will go between Exton movie tavern and Flourtown movie tavern. Who doesn't like a sit down meal and drinks to go with their Movie right? It is a lot better than going to AMC or Regal where most of the options are unhealthy snacks. Not to mention reclining BIG comfortable seats and superb surround sound speakers. With that being said, We've been to Exton location couple times now. Is pretty well kept compare to other locations. For the most part the experiences have been positive, only issue we ran into was not getting the correct condiments for the food we ordered. Latest Marvel movie we saw was Dr Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness. Speaking of Food, the ordering experience has been changed. Instead of having waiter and waitresses constantly walking by obstructing views. After Marcus Theater took over, they decided to implement in App ordering only, to me this is perfect because 1 - They minimize view obstructions and 2 - You don't have to worry about your waiter and waitress not being able to hear you and get your orders wrong, especially if you arrive late or during when loud commercials have already started. On top of all that we don't see people using their phone lights to sign checks anymore during the movie, it can be distracting if you're just there to experience a good movie. Everything needs improved. First, matinee tickets totaled over $55 for 3 people. Next, ordering at the seat has been removed. You have to order from the app. Which kept erroring out for us, so we had to leave our seats, go wait in line in the lobby, to place our order at the counter. $24 for 1 soda, 1 popcorn & sample size M&Ms. A bit later, only half our order showed up. The other half was never recognized even though we paid for it. I stopped one of the severs, who told me to go back out to the lobby to check. They had no record, made me grab the receipt, Finally gave me the rest of the order. Not one apology. Now I know why people wait for movies to be available on HBO. read more

I came here the other day with family to see Fantastic Beasts and use up some Movie Tavern GCs. We got our tickets and were on our way into the theater pretty quickly since we went during a afternoon weekday show. Our server made every one feel comfortable as she tended to everyone in the theater. Our order came out accurately but I do feel like my Margherita pizza could definitely been cooked longer. (Every slice I picked up bowed and everything slid off) We've been to the movie tavern in Collegeville and liked the fact that this theater had reclining seats. Sound quality was good and we liked the fact that the rows are staggered so that you aren't struggling to see over the heads of the people in the row in front of you. We didn't get drinks but there is also a bar in the lobby area. They had themed drinks for the Fantastic Beasts movie which was cute. Good theater. read more

They left the lights on for our entire movie. It was so distracting I can't believe they don't even pay attention to what's happening in their theaters? They also don't take orders at your seat anymore you have to download their app and then schedule a time for your food or drinks to arrive which was very confusing. Why is there no option to just order food and have it arrive when it's ready? Who is planning to have their popcorn delivered at specifically an hour into the movie? read more

Birthday celebration turned into awful, Manager named "Phil" screaming at the birthday boy not to run the 5 feet down the hall to catch up to his 7 friends. Then kicking him out, causing crying of course, because he took a step after he screamed at him. So used to this kind of ignorance, but never have gotten this treatment at the movies!! Never!! And never had a racist yell at my kid. And then, as the kids tried to make a plea for him, the Manager called the cops on 11 and 12 year olds!! Really?? We always have a great time at the Movie Tavern - it's the best way to see a movie in the theater! The seats are very comfortable - and preassigned, so there's no issue with seating - and the theaters are small so no issue with crowds, unwanted talking during the movie, etc. Tickets costs are very reasonable considering the First Class experience. The post-COVID food ordering app took a couple visits to get used to, but now we order when we're ordering our tickets, and our food arrives at the theater when we do. The food menu is comprehensive and reasonably priced, and the bar drinks are fantastic - the recent Malibu Barbie created for the Barbie movie premiere is delicious! Staff is always very friendly and professional. This is the only place to see a movie! read more

So normally I am an absolute fan of Movie Tavern, but seems like the Exton location- with the fancy seats, is getting sloppy with the food. Last time I was here our order "somehow got deleted" even though we put the credit card as soon as we ordered so that they don't have to disturb us later. Later the manager says that it was not deleted but they got slammed and that's the reason we were the only ones in a packed theatre that did not get our food until the last half hour of the movie. Today, it's not a choice anymore to pay now or later. You have to pay NOW and it seems like it's been a policy for 2 years says the same manager today. I don't think I'm coming back here. Online ordering and app was not working so 15 minutes into the movie my daughter then went to physically get popcorn and dinner for the 3 of us and everything was closed. So disappointed. Should have have stayed close to home, saved myself gas $, time and been able to treat the kids to snacks during our movie. Nice seats with food trays attached, press a button on your tray and here comes your waiter. The food is ok, a bit pricey especially the drinks. Service was good, next time I will try the popcorn instead of ordering an entree, which was a bit messy. Had the grilled chicken sandwich which must have had a lot of sauce on it, difficult to pick up as it was sliding all over the place, tasted ok tho. Lounge in the lobby with tv to watch and a bar. There were people in our paid seats. The manager didn't know how to handle it. So I left it alone as to not embarrass my small son. We moved our seats. Later, I had to argue to get free comp tickets. The manager was young and not personable. The other manager was just as bad. This was the worst experience at this movie theatre. The popcorn was hard and cold. Please go somewhere else. I go to this theater ALOT! The food is delicious, the theater is always very clean, and the staff is welcoming and courteous. I especially love the $5 Tuesday deals, burger and pizza specials. I recently had an issue with the app where all my info was gone, I didn't have my ticket info and could not figure out how to resolve the issue on. I emailed corporate and within a few hours they had completely solved the problem. I am so impressed with how quickly they resolved the issue.
