Today we had a wonderful experience with work performed by American Tree Care, LLC. We had a HUGE…read moreshrub job consisting of approximately 25 yards of hedges which required cutting sides and tops cut about 2 feet down. Very tight area next to pool enclosure. In addition, we had an extremely tall overgrown tree where limbs were extending too close over our roof and electrical service lines. Rob was our point person. Came out and gave us a quote promptly. Workers arrived straightaway and dutifully cut down the shrubs and tree limbs in record time. They had to work on our neighbor's side, and conversed with him accordingly. Even the owner of American Tree came out to ensure proper handling of our job. We were so IMPRESSED! At completion, all debris was cleaned up and cleared. Sorry to say but Adam is unreliable, does not complete work as contracted for " as written by his…read morewife Jackie" and does not stand behind his work. Adam seems willing to start jobs but then runs out of gas, cuts corners and doesn't finish them as contracted. I asked him to dig out around a home I just purchased to remove top soil and wood mulch, move ALL the sprinkler heads away from the sides of the home and then install pond stones over a good weed barrier. This home is wood frame with stucco exterior that has the usual cutback at the bottom. It's important to keep that cutback clear to avoid termites. When they started the job all appeared to be going well. I had other work to do so I wasn't watching them constantly. At one checkpoint Jackie was telling the crew to keep the stones away from the top of the cutback...as I requested. When Adam told me they were finished I did a quick look but didn't closely examine the entire area. After paying him in full I tested the sprinklers only to find a huge gusher on the first zone. The line was cut during the digging effort. Adam's "sprinkler guy" never bothered to check the system and neither did Adam. Fortunately they did come back a few hours later to fix the issue. The next day I started work painting the exterior and noticed 4 sprinkler heads had not been moved, just buried under stone. The stone was also piled up covering the cutback in many areas around the house, included the places that Jackie had cleared up earlier. After 2 weeks of text message excuses for not returning, it's just silence. I finished painting but had to move the stones away from the cutback myself and I'm stuck having to find another contractor to do the work I already paid ANJ to do the first time. In the meantime I've had several neighbors ask who I used for the work and was I satisfied.
