Ive driven dozens of different models and brands of motorscooters for over a decade. I know what's what after 50,000+ miles of scootering. My two absolute favorites are the Lance Cabo 200i (169cc Fuel Injected) and the Genuine Buddy KICK (125cc Fuel Injected). Both get unreal mileage and will hit 50mph+ easily, especially with Cabo. Axel is the chief mechanic on the team and runs a tight shop. Always takes a minute to explain the repair or modification and gets it right the first time. John is just a gentleman-business man. This company is listed on the razor website as a service center. They are refusing to fix a flat tire and flat out said it's not worth their time. I'm not looking for free and this is ridiculous. Look elsewhere and don't waste your time. Updated response: John thank you for your response. It is because of your company policy that I was diverted to Custom Scooters in Plano. They were more than willing to assist and could quickly reassemble the tire after replacing it. Their fast friendly care was just fantastic. Axel is a great guy. Knowing it was close to closing time, we called to let him know that we were almost there. He waited for us, then took the time to let us try on helmets. Moxie Scooters is awesome- I was gifted a scooter from my brother who gave me a ballpark $ on what it should cost to get it running- these guys came in on the lower end of his prediction. The fact is, Mr. Raimondi's employee Gene told me flat out that the owner would not talk to me so long as THIS REVIEW was on Yelp! Seriously! I also recently discovered the Moxie Scooters charged me $20 for an inspection when I bought the bike but then never gave me a sticker. Again -- seriously. Luckily the guys from Vespa Dallas caught it before a police officer gave me a ticket. That means I am out the part owed, the work owed, $20 for inspection, gas to and from his place, and TONS of time trying to get the parts and services for which I PAID. Seriously. read more

The mechanic here was great very friendly and helpful. We were ready to buy two scooters but the owner wouldn't give us the time of day. Even when the mechanic asked him pricing questions for us he still ignores the questions. I will never buy a scooter from here. Juan, my mechanic,Mohave me a thorough explanation of what was wrong, and the price was very fair. I took it out for a long ride and it was even smoother than it had been in the past. Bad service. Only good if you want to buy a scooter and never come back. If you are going here for repair service forget it. You're better off finding a youtube video of how to do the work and trying it yourself, you'll get a better quality of work. They don't answer phones or email, and drag their feet on everything. This is hands down the best scooter dealership in the metroplex. I started my scooter hunt at a Vespa dealership in Dallas, and let's just say that it turned something that sounded fun into buying a car. I was a little perturbed by hidden fees so I came out to visit John at Moxie and it was a great process from the get-go. Moxie charges no hidden fees, just sales tax and the necessary state mandated inspections and registrations. They will also work with you on the price of the scooter. Great inventory, great selection of different brands, and they even offered to delivery the scooter after I bought it for just the cost of gas to drive it out there. I went in to look at scooters on Tuesday, and went in Wednesday to buy and I was out driving my scooter within two hours. Do not waste your time with either of the Vespa dealerships, go straight to Moxie and you'll be glad you didn't waste your time. I should mention that they do not sell Vespas here, but they do sell the Stella which is just as good a scoot at a little lower price. I bought a Buddy 125 myself. read more

First of all, John Raimondi (the owner) is one of the nicest, most honest, and calmest people you will ever meet. He opened the store as an enthusiast because his kids were into scooters, and now that his kids are full-grown he carries on with good manners and charm. When my lady and I were shopping for a scooter, the choice we faced was either to buy a super cheap Chinese no-name brand, or to get a super expensive European make. Moxie offers a price point that splits the difference. They sell scooters by Buddy with a 2 year full warranty, and the difference between these and the Chinese knockoffs are obvious even to the untrained eye. When we had a problem with the scooter, Moxie took care of the problems and it didn't cost a dime. Addressing some of the other reviews, John has had to cycle through some employees over the several years that I have known him. Owning and running a full-time non-franchised small business on the scale that he does cannot be done without solid help. His current team is friendly, courteous and prompt. The show room is packed with all variety of scooters, and the service is very fast. They only time I had to wait any length of time was when they had to order a custom colored part from the manufacturer overseas, which was a free warranty replacement. If you buy your scooter from anyone other than Moxie in the DFW Metroplex, you will be doing yourself a huge disservice. Just go down and talk to John and you will see what I mean. Nope, not a place I would go back to. I took my scooter in for oil change and I knew the carborator would need to be cleaned, what I got was a broken mirror and the scooter wouldn't start. After a few days, I got it back running worse than before and a bill for 900.00. They made me pay for the broken mirror too. When I took it to another place, they fixed everything for 35.00. And they said they have gotten a lot of people from that place. read more

I was looking for a dependable scooter for my son to get to school and work. We looked at several on CL and a few other sites before I accidentally stumbled onto Moxie. I called and spoke to John, he explained what he had in my son's price range and what my options were. He made a mistake when we were on the phone and immediately let me know when I called to do a follow up the next day. He was incredibly honest and made his mistake right! You don't see ethical people running businesses nowadays, but so far, I am very impressed and grateful for the help, service, and courtesy that John has extended. Often times people only leave reviews when service is bad which makes it harder for people to get new business in. I think that John is solid in ethics and willing to go that extra mile. I would never buy a scooter from here again. When I went in "shopping" they were exceptionally nice and eager to sell. When I returned to pick up the scooter I bought, they couldn't give me the time of day. I paid cash in full for the scooter I wanted and was told they would call me when it was ready that afternoon. After waiting a full day and a half with no word, I called them and was told that it had been ready since the day before. They had three contact numbers, yet nobody had bothered to call. After two days of use, I discovered the gas gauge and speedometer didn't work. I called to tell them, and they were very rude and condescending. I was asked if I knew how to read the speedometer and gas gauge. I took it in for repair and, once again, wasn't notified when it was ready. I called several times a week to check on it and was told they were waiting on parts. After three weeks, I finally got the ok to pick it up. The gas gauge still didn't work (I ran out of gas driving down the road) and the speedometer was still off by 7mph. I called again and was told I would just have to adjust to it. When I took it for the 1st year inspection, they made some adjustments and returned it to me with no oil or gas. Once again, I broke down while driving down the road. I called and was told they couldn't explain the problem. At this time, 2yrs now, I have given up any hope of them ever fixing the lemon they sold me. I would warn anyone to buy stay clear of this place. read more

With the economy and gas prices the way they are, I decided to purchase a scooter for local running around. Right now, I can only speak for the sales portion of my transaction with Moxie Scooters - but I will say that my experience thus far has been EXCELLENT. First of all, Moxie is a SCOOTER DEALER. Not a motorcycle dealer who sells a few scooters on the side. So they really know their stuff. Believe me, that's important. The employees are friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable, and John does whatever he possibly can to ensure your satisfaction. They have a wonderful selection of scooters to choose from - that was very helpful for me since this was the first time I had ever looked at them - I was able to see a lot of different manufacturers, models and power levels. Nobody ever hovered over me or made me feel pressured or uncomfortable. Moxie has a very "small town" feel to it - I was amazed to find that some of the folks givng me friendly advice and chit-chatting were not employees, but established customers who had just stopped in to say hello and visit! Incidentally, I'll be picking up my new "scoot" tomorrow... I'll post updates here once I'm an experienced rider and have visited the service department -only for routine maintenance, of course!
