They have a very attractive outdoor area, but we were a little warm from sightseeing so we decided to dine inside. The vibe inside is very attractive; I'll call it techno chic, (think lots of glass, dimly lit with nice accent lighting). I had a crispy chicken sandwich with fries. The sandwich was good. Nice location, with a menu almost completely different from the ones in Toronto?! Which was surprising! However, we got here on a Saturday night and we were literally THE ONLY table at the restaurant! No other customers at all were in either the main dining room or the lounge! Something i've never seen at a Moxie's! Especially in Toronto, where you'd wait at least 30/45 minutes to get a table on a weekday! Very strange! They even sent their waitresses home, and the bartender was by himself, he served us drinks and ran our food for us.. When asked how come it's dead like this, he said yes it's oddly strange.. Came here last night for a late second dinner with a school club. Since it was a later dinner for me, I did some research beforehand to see what would be the healthier options that I could order, and settled on the Asian Chopped Salad, with dressing on the side. I was originally skeptical at the price point, questioning whether a salad with nappa cabbage and chicken would warrant the $17.75 price. However, when it arrived, I was blown away by the portion size. There was an unbelievable amount of healthy vegetables (nappa cabbage, shredded carrots, cucumbers, celery, red peppers, edamame, and some cilantro). The waitress had warned me beforehand that there would be a strong cilantro flavour, but I found there to be none at all. The dressing was very tasty, but I barely touched it by the end. It was overly salty, and I'm so glad I had asked for it on the side! I can't imagine how people can get it on their salad. My friend, who ordered the potstickers, likewise complained that her order was too salty. I guess sodium is a major issue in chains like these... The chicken, although good, was similarly salty. That being said, the flavoring level was perfect, and I thoroughly enjoyed each chicken piece. In fact, I saved them all for the end, promoting the waitress to ask if I was vegetarian, haha! I give this place a 4-4.5 rating. I feel like I used to be a regular here. My friends and I would come for drinks, birthdays, bigger celebrations and just to have dinner and connect with one another. I moved away for a year and came back.. and it's quality has gone down a bit. They have nice elements SUCH AS: - Free mini dessert for your birthday - an upstairs little hall for about 50 people. The location is "free" and you just need to pay for the food and drinks.. etc. It's a nice space, semi open with view to the first floor and you are able to bring your own music... so yes, you can dance with your friends and loved ones. Nice place and atmosphere. Real chill vibe and nice staff however the down fall would be the food Had the calamari, shrimp linguine and, steak and shrimp set. Calamari was not the best. Breading was soft. The garnish; the fried Serrano pepper and ginger were chewy and tasteless. Added a unpleasant rubbery texture. Shrimp linguine was very interesting. The pasta was salty and almost vinegary. Couldn't taste the tomato sauce at all. As the sauce seem to be watered down. The shrimp was cooked well. The lobster tail tasted like the grill it was cooked on. Burnt. The dish came with a side bread. Not sure if it was suppose to be garlic or buttered bread. But I do know it was chewy. Required a bit of a yank to rip the bread. Steak and shrimp set, steak was cooked to medium rare just like asked. Quite a chewy cut of meat. A bit salty. Shrimp was cooked nicely. Potato side was ok. Plating was plain and boring Had drinks there Pineapple soda and strawberry Margarita. Tasted like what I wanted. I liked both drinks. A nice refreshing carbonated pineapple drink that came in a large glass. Strawberry margarita was made with tequila. It was good. Ps: ate everything because I grew up not to waste my food. I came here for my friend's birthday the other day and had an A-OK time. As a college student the place wasn't my vibe. You can definitely find more older individuals here, especially around dinner time. I ordered the Lobster Tail Liguine and my friend got a steak sirloin. We both thought the food was decent, service was a bit slow, and that this is somewhere we probably only might come back once or twice in the next two years of undergrad. When I first thought about going to Moxie's I had the impression that it was going to be way to overpriced meals and small portions. but with my recent trip here I was pleasantly surprised, it is almost the exact opposite of that. First off it's downtown so the parking is crap but they do have some kind of validating thing I'm pretty sure. When you walk through the doors you are immediatly greeted by eye candy everywhere. If it's not from the cute girls in stripper dresses as waitresses it's the absolutly beautiful decor! I mean wow this place looks nice and there are big booth's everywhere with a lounge as well! We came in on a Monday night (P.S $3.99 pints of beer special on Mondays) and we were immediatly greeted at the door and brought to our table. It wasn't too busy at all but we did come around 630. Almost right after that our waitress came to the table for drink and app orders . The service was very quick and friendly, always around to bring whatever you need from more drinks to more kethup. I ended up ordering the veal & pancetta burger from the new spring menu and I'm so happy I did because it was probably the best burger I've ever had. The meat was perfectly cooked, very tender and juicy, and it came with the usual burger toppings but with chipotle aoli sauce which was amazing! My girlfriend had the seafood linguine and I tried a little bit of it and I must say it tasted amazing as well, I would definatly get that the next time, or any pasta for that matter they all sounded soo good, lol. The prices arn't outrages either, I mean the service is excellent, the decor and atmosphere is top notch, it's located right downtown on Richmond st. The waitresses are smokin hot and the food tastes amazingly good! What's not to love about moxies if you ask me? Great experience. I came here with my parents as I'm visiting them for the weekend and we had a great time. The food was really tasty and the manager (Chris) had excellent customer service. The guacamole was so good that we had to order two servings. Our server was great and knowledgable as well She took the time to explain the menu and gave us tips on what to do in town. Went to Moxies after a youth hockey game at Bud Gardens. Big group of kids and parents. Moxies staff came through in spades! Our server was friendly, fast, efficient and never panicked when the bill wouldn't print properly. I ordered the Beef Vindaloo and LOVED it! Just the right amount of bite with a lot of great flavor. I have been to Moxie's more than once and this visit was just as I expected. I had the White Zin Sangria and it was delicious. An excellent size compared to other sangrias I have had at other places. The amount of fruit in the glass was also impressive. I ordered the Turkey Club, which was average. I have had turkey sandwiches with a LOT more meat on it. They did however remember to omit tomatoes and the fries were delicious. Other than that I really don't have anything bad to say but nothing really stood out either. Appearance: The restaurant is attached to a shopping centre so curb appeal is seriously compromisedm. A view of the parking lot from the outside deck isn't much of a selling feature either. That said the interior is slick and modern. Tables are well spaced and the bar adds an important visual element. Food: They present an upscale menu but serve only slightly above average food. Portions were all substantial and not a single one of the guest had any complaints about their meal: nor did they really have any compliments. Service: Once again merely average service. After presenting our meal, our waiter disappeared for some time. That would really be our only complaint though. Went and met a friend there with a couple of her friends. Was pretty good and enjoyed the night! Its not the first Moxies so I knew what to expect, or so I thought. The server was very friendly, took our orders promptly and got our drinks fast. I got a local beer and the Beef Dip (Drool) so good. Probably the most entertaining part was that) as it was a London spot, there was a drunk guy who was sliding down the stair rails. When they tried to stop him, he ran around (literally) the entire location, jumped the bar and grabs someones drink, and kept running until he eventually got outside. This location makes parking a nuisance, but the decor is swanky and they do their best to accommodate food intolerance/allergies. The service wasn't especially friendly, but I've certainly had worse. I've been here 3 or 4 times and the food quality is consistent. It's not terribly exciting but it's probably better than many other chain restaurants. Its a nice location inside and out, centrally located in the heart of downtown. We came here for lunch and I got the tuna salad which was good, big, filling, but I felt the tuna portion was small. And it was 30$ with tip and tax, which I think is a lot for a lunch salad. Overall - I think this is a fine place, there's nothing wrong with it, but I think there are other places in London with more charm. People seemed to enjoy their food and I know from previous experiences that the desserts are really good here too! read more

The space is SO amazing! It's beautifully laid out. But the food is what matters right? I personally wasn't crazy about the drinks. They weren't bad, however, they weren't AMAZING. Average speciality cocktails. Bruschetta was so good. Tomatoes flavorful and bread perfectly toasted. I had the steak and baked potato. Extremely savory that I would actually suggest not trying to finish your dish and maybe save some for later. Overall, amazing experience there. Perhaps when I'm 45 and rich, I'd appreciate this restaurant more, but as a broke student, Moxie's isn't the best place to go. One word: EXPENSIVE. A few friends and I decided to have lunch here one weekend. The restaurant is large and absolutely stunning. Definitely an upscale restaurant, don't wear t-shirts and shorts, just pretend its prom night and wear your fanciest clothes. The servers are all hot blonde chicks which makes me feel slightly uncomfortable knowing those girls have to work in heels (the pain!) This restaurant is more of a bar and club than a restaurant, I wouldn't even call this place kid friendly (scandalous uniforms on the workers). Anyway, moving on. We were seated at a nice booth and looked over the complicated menu. I ordered a chicken pasta for $20, one of the cheaper things on the menu. The pasta itself was good, not amazing, just mediocre. The portion was pretty tiny for what you're getting. A few friends got burned burgers and non of us were satisfied. Moxie's is good for 2 things: getting expensively drunk or staring at hot girls. Perhaps they should change their name from Moxie's Grill and Bar to Moxie's Expensive Alcohol and Hot Chicks. I would not recommend this place, it's really expensive, and the food isn't that great. read more

Went with a group from work for lunch. We were promptly seated in the stunning patio and served quickly. The food was great, complete with great taste and presentation. My only critique was that the beer I ordered had an "enjoy before" date of two months ago. But clearly that minor error was nothing significant compared to the overall amazing experience here. I've been to a few Moxies and this one must be commended as the best I've experienced so far. A must-go! read more

I came to Moxies for my birthday and overall had a decent time. The food was good, not bad pricing, and it came to us really fast. I was really impressed because I had a very big group of people with me. The whole place is stunning! Even the bathrooms will blow your mind. On another note, I have never had such a rude waitress in my life. From the very start she rolled her eyes, never smiled, didn't say "thanks" or "your welcome", very harsh tone of voice, drank on the job, and talked to us like we were idiots. I didn't even know what her name was until another worker told us. My friends let her know it was my birthday and she didn't do anything about it. My friends eventually let another worker walking by know that it was my birthday and they gave me a free shot, free dessert and a free appetizer for the next time that I come in. The other workers made up for her awful job and said that she has gotten a couple complaints in the past about her attitude. I had a huge group and barely anyone tipped. This says a lot because usually my friends and I are very generous since there are so many of us to take care of. Honestly, I always tip and I didn't feel bad about not spending a dime on her. Overall I enjoyed my company with friends in the beautiful restaurant. To anyone who is looking to go for dinner with some friends I would still recommend Moxies.
