Fish tacos and sweet potato fries
    Rachel L.

It's a bit more varied than bar food, but the fish tacos that I got were just okay. There were only 2 tacos that came with the dish and your choice of sides. I chose the sweet potato fries and the chipotle sauce. Those fries were pretty good but it's just around average. The fish in the tacos did taste good however. It was cooked in a way that it tasted more like pork, and as a vegetarian, it's a nice change for my tastebuds. The toppings on the taco didn't help much with the taste though. They were average fish tacos. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, especially for a place in london (it felt more like a Toronto restaurant). It's a nice place to try, as the menu is quite expansive.

This is the best State & Main location that I have been to! Better than Etobicoke and Oakville. Too bad it's so far. Food was absolutely amazing. Service could've been better but whatever.

Decided to stop in for their "Happy Hour". Prices very reasonable for a quick drink and snack. I chose the vodka soda for a drink and tried their two taco choices a fish taco and a pork taco. Both were very tasty. For two tacos and a beverage it cost just over $10 + tip. Service was good and atmosphere was good. Kind of a modern sports bar/restaurant. May have to return their other "Happy Hour" options.

Chicken wrap with jalapeño cornbread and a Caesar salad.

I had family visiting today from out of town, and they wanted to have dinner at a nice sit down restaurant, and I suggested State and Main because I hadn't been here yet. I had called about a couple hours ahead to make reservations, and called again because I had two more people coming. My family arrived before we did and there was just a slight issue with regards to the seating because of my 90 year old grandmother, but that was sorted out by the time I got there. Small hiccup. The menu had a variety of different options, and I ended up getting the chicken club wrap. With the sandwiches and wraps you have an option of two sides, which I got the caesar salad and the jalapeño cornbread. Our meals all arrived in due time and all at once, which was amazing because I don't like having to wait for my meal or wait for someone else's before we could eat. The chicken wrap was tasty, so was the salad, a bit on the salty side, but good nonetheless. My mom had the jalapeño mac & cheese with cajun chicken, she absolutely loved it. There was enough for all of us to take home too. The servers were very attentive, making sure we always had our drinks full, and asking if there was anything else we needed, and after our meals if we wanted some coffee, tea or some dessert. The portions were very large, so I had no room for dessert, but next time I will certainly try. Food was good, company was good, prices a bit high, especially for a wrap, but overall a good experience.

Dropped in with family to celebrate a birthday. Sat out in the patio to enjoy the weather, and since no one else was around, we could be a bit noisy . The waitress looked a bit apprehensive for some reason or the other (but totally mellowed out by the time we were ready to leave ) We ordered the bang bang shrimp, and as luck would have it, it was the last day for 2for1 appetizer Tuesdays. Since we had planned to get 2 orders, we ended up with 4 plates. Yumm! Daughter had the pasta with meatballs, son had the deluxe burger, wife had the Steak and Main Steak and I had a rack of ribs. Food was succulent and tasty, though the ribs were a bit dry. Excellent potions. A great place to have a quiet meal or a celebration. Preferred the outdoor ambiance than the somewhat sterile feel of the indoors.

It's exciting to find a restaurant that serves decent meals for those who don't want/need meat. We had a gift card we'd been hanging on to for months before we decided to give State & Main a shot. Our server was polite and helped us make our choices. Food was delicious & as soon as I tasted my veggie burger I was sure I had to take a photo & post a review. Everything was tasty, nicely presented & adequate portions. Will definitely visit again.

    Sunshine State. Dangerously delicious.

After hearing good things about State and Main I finally got a chance to check it out. I forgot to take pictures of my food but rest assured it was amazing. I had the Sunshine State to drink which tasted like the beach in the summertime. It was peachy and pineappley and delicious (it was also a slushie!). For appetizers we ordered the bang bang shrimp. They were phenomenal. I really enjoyed the deep fried texture with spicy mayo (which used to be my favourite sauce, I will explain why shortly). We also had the Dragon Boat Lettuce Wraps, FYI these are not peanut free, they were good and the romaine was a heartier lettuce so you weren't dropping the filling. I probably would try something different next time, these didn't blow me away. For my main course I chose the chicken club wrap and TWO YES TWO SIDES! The avocado in the wrap was different but awesome since I rely on restaurants who know what a ripe avocado is for my fix. For my sides I opted for the Caesar salad and fries. The highlight of my entire meal was the dill dip that came with the fries which is now my new fave sauce. I cannot express how delicious this and their slightly dill seasoned fries were. I'm still thinking about it. They seriously need to bottle it for sale. I will definitely be back! Hopefully for brunch because the banana bread French toast sound too good to miss. State and Main has definitely become a new fave!

This just opened up near the tanning studio I go to in London so naturally I had to come here for lunch after tanning. Also, I was craving their jalapeno mac and cheese and ice cream sandwich after looking at their photos. The jalapeno mac & cheese was super tasty and everything mac and cheese should be. The jalapenos really added some spice to it and I love jalapeno anything! The panko bread crumbs gave it texture which really balanced the dish out. The only thing I wish it was more of was the cheesiness. It was very creamy, but not cheesy enough (for me, anyways!). Then again, I'm the type of girl that thinks triple cheese pizza should be the standard amount of cheese. I got a Caesar with gin, in place of vodka. They have a $5 Caesar drink special on Fridays. It was great for a basic Caesar with just the right amount of spiciness to it. No crazy garnishes or anything- just a super simple run-of-the-mill Caesar. Unfortunately, I did not have time to try the ice cream sandwich because I had an appointment after but you can bet I will be back, hopefully soon!

Cannot get enough of this hidden gem in this plaza always a patio seat or a spot inside, not a place that you need to dress up for! A go to spot forget the line up at Jack Astors , been here at 6pm a few times an never have had to wait!! Nicest waitresses an hosts are very nice! Plus not only dinner & lunch Brunch is on the menu to for weekends !! Well done State & Main

I had eaten here for mother's day right after they had open. It turned out to be more of a sports bar than restaurant, which I wasn't really expecting. --- Food --- The food is good, definitely above average for similar places like Jack Astor's. --- Service --- Its great. The staff are amazingly helpful and polite. Probably the reason it's a 4 star rating. --- Overall --- I enjoyed it, not sure I would go again simply based on location as it is quite out of the way for me. Would definitely recommend for a weekend lunch.

State and main use to be better quality a bit maybe due to inflation around the world , but its still great for a family night out.

We were greeted and seated as soon as we entered the restaurant. Even though we had made a reservation, we were given the choice of 3 tables, which we really appreciated. We ordered two cocktails to start. I had the Flora Mexican which was amazing! it was floral, a little sweet, a little sour and just the perfect amount of yum. I loved it. My husband had the Improved Whisky Cocktail. It was also very good, with Rye, Maraschino and a nice hit of Absinthe. We decided to share some items from the crudo part of the menu. We had the salmon carpaccio which came with squid ink crackers and some lovely little pickled items. It was outstanding. We had the tuna tataki which also had lots of little pickled items and was amazing, but for me the actual tuna stole the show. The last item we ordered was the venison tartare. OMG, it was fabulous. The flavour of the venison was wonderful and the chili and capers just added so much to the dish. The cured egg yolk shaved on top gave it a subtle hint of saltiness. Everything was fantastic. The service was great and the ambience was too. We will most definitely be back when we return to London. Highly recommend this place.

I was so excited that yet another joint was popping up just a short distance from my house. A proper bar any millennial would adore. From Instagram worthy drinks to the dark, vibey decor, this is a REALLY cool spot. We only went in for drinks but the food menu made my mouth water. My boyfriend got the 'Where There's Smoke, There's Fire' which came in a smoke filled bell jar. I've seen this done before so I wasn't blown away by any means, but it is pretty cool, specially if you're doin it for the 'gram. I got the Reign in Blood which was SUPER cool and creative. This blood-red drink arrived in this beautiful chalice-like glass and the salt rim down the side looked like fangs. I felt like a true vampire and I drank that sh** up. Our drinks were great! So what gives? It all came down to service. I'm not sure if our waiter was having a rough go of it or what, but he was Kurt. No...sorry, his name wasn't Kurt...he WAS curt. We tried to joke with him but nothing was landing. He was swift to pull the menu from my hands as we finished ordering. Something about the whole experience was just...off. What could have been a great night out was sadly tainted. Regardless of this experience, I really do encourage you to make a visit to Company Bar. Please, enjoy the delicious libations that await you there. I will definitely be giving this spot another chance...and hopefully Kurt will be more than happy to take our order. :)
