I worked for this place. He really is a miserable, little man. It was the most fly- by- night place I've ever worked for. He has no prep on premise and has to outsource all cremation and preparation. He once had me call a Spanish speaker to pick up the ashes of her infant. I'm not fluent in Spanish and it made for a very awkward situation. He simply is incapable on words of praise. For a year, I toldthis man to have a good night as I left. Every night his response was, "yup." He's not a caring person. Please spend your money elsewhere. read more

I would give zero stars if that were an option. Mike Murphy is one of the most crude, cold and difficult men I've ever encountered. My younger sister had just killed herself and I was VERY specific about what needed to happen with signing papers and going over documents with my parents and the tenderness required to work with our family. After giving specific instructions, Mike barged into my parents home and demanded that the papers be signed quickly. He seemed to be in a hurry and there was little to zero compassion. After much deliberation, and while my sister's body was still at the coroner's office, my family decided to work with a different funeral home. Upon calling the Coroner's office to let them know that we were going to work with a different funeral home, I called Mike to tell him we would be working with someone else. He then proceeded to LIE to me and told me that he had already picked up my sister's body, WHICH HE HAD NOT. DO NOT WORK WITH MURPHY'S. They are HORRIBLE. read more

I can't comment on the services they provide. I can comment on the fact they aren't very committed. I called to ask about services and pricing. They told me to "hold on", and then hung up on me. I figured maybe that was by accident, so called back two times a little later, and the they wouldn't even answer the phone. I would look elsewhere. read more

Sad little mortuary. When I initially came in to Murphy's he stated that, "I believe in doing things with a handshake and trust." Took him at face value and had my dad cremated there. Never got a bill of any type. One week after his death I called to ask if I could come pickup his ashes, they said no, not until I paid. I explained that the money to cover the costs was being moved into a new trust account and the check would be sent from that account. Either families of people who have died have not paid him, or he basically doesn't trust people to pay their bills (which he doesn't send). "With a handshake and trust," I do not think so. read more

I was relieved to see it was not just me who had a horrific experience dealing with Mike. He exudes greed and arrogance in his every interaction with grieving family members. He made a difficult situation so much worse by giving incorrect information about our loved one's autopsy and fingerprints as well as his unbelievable charges which he retracted since he was unable to itemize them. Colorado has few ways to regulate funeral homes, so beware! read more

One of the worst experiences of my life as everything was botched, obituary, memorial program and picture just to name a few. Not only was Mike unprofessional he was rude to both us and our guests at the memorial, never apologizing for his incompetence. Total dirt bag only out for a buck. Stay as far away from these clowns as humanly possible. read more

Run far away from this mortuary. One of his associates presented the bill at the viewing getting down on one knee while my mother-in-law was at her dead husband's casket. They also left the final bill in plain view at the reception. Highly unprofessional, responsive and general lack of care. read more

Mike and his team went above and beyond for the service of my mother-in-law. Our situation was very unique as there were young children involved who lost their mother. Mike took consideration of every detail of our service, and the whole experience couldn't have been more perfect. In addition to providing a beautiful ceremony - Mike also orchestrated a lovely burial at St. Mary's Church in Boulder. The memories of the service and burial have been a beautiful experience for our family and friends. I highly recommend MP Murphy and Associates for all of your funeral needs - the sensitivity and love that goes into the planning and service is outstanding. read more
