I'm stubborn and continue to order Bloody Caesars although they recently have brought a major disappointment. The cocktail is consistent, but when I had it for the first time last year there was a beef jerky in it. This summer for whatever reason the jerky is gone from the cocktail, it is still supposed to be there according to the menu, but nowhere to be found in my drink. This is why a star is removed, sorry, I'm picky about the Caesars. Cobra is definitely kind of hip place to be looking at the crowd gathering there on Friday night. I really enjoy the 80s memorabilia, the movies shown on an old TV using VHS system, the list of drinks has been now transferred into a VHS boxes, funny, but difficult to read. The music choices have been always awesome. The service may be spotty. Even on an evening when sitting on the little patio and there were only few customers we had to wave persistently to get another drink or just the check. Drink wise Cobra delivers, they will surprise you with local beers that you would need to search hard for in Montreal as the the amazing Milkshake IPA of Jukebox or the old fashioned Laurentide of Molsson. Thursday and Saturday nights are for karaoke and it becomes a different place all together - packed to the brim full of karaoke aficionados aged 18 to 85. The staff claims to have the largest karaoke selection available in the city and the karaoke book is almost three inches thick -filled with song choices in French and English. The atmosphere is loud and jovial which is entirely suiting for karaoke fun. If you love karaoke, and if you love a good dive bar, I would strongly recommend La Remise. Get there before 10 PM if you want to ensure a spot as often on Saturdays there is a line-up to get in.

Booze is normal price at $6 for mixed drinks. Everyone is easy going and the music is pretty good and loud (rock, punk, psychobilly,etc). The selection depends on whose the bartender that night since there is no juke box. The only thing significant I noticed is it doesnt pickup till about 10PM till 1030 PM. If you show up before that dont be surprise if it seems dead. But come the "magic" hour the place will fill up in like 10-15 minutes. Pretty impressive. Its off the Mont Royal Metro stop if your riding the subway.
