Cristina has been my barber since day one, and she consistently delivers an amazing cut every single time. She's incredibly sweet, great to talk to, and always very accommodating -- truly someone who makes the whole experience feel comfortable and personalized. The shop recently celebrated their 10th anniversary, and it's easy to see why they've been thriving for so long. The whole team is always friendly, welcoming, and on top of things. Even when the place is busy (which is often!), it's always clean and well-run. I love that they offer complimentary water, their service prices are very reasonable, and they even have some cute merch available. One of my favorite conveniences is that you can book appointments through the Vagaro app, which makes scheduling super easy and flexible with my own calendar. Since I needed a haircut and had to stop by Whole Foods in Yorba Linda to return an Amazon item, I searched for a local barber and discovered Mr. Barber. The barber shop specializes in modern men's cuts. [Price]: $38 for classic cut with complementary hair wash (upon request) and/or hot towel included. $55 for haircut & beard trim with complementary hair wash (upon request) and/or hot towel included. They use Square so credit cards are accepted. [Appointment]: I was able to schedule a same-day appointment through their website (vagaro.com), but customers are required to create an account. I received a text message confirmation and the staff asked if I had an appointment upon arrival. [Process]: The shop had a TV playing a sports game during my haircut. I had Anita and she was both friendly and efficient. I requested a low taper fade and showed her a reference photo on my phone. She completed the cut in less than 20 minutes and honestly I was pleased with the result. However, I later noticed the price listing on the wall which mentioned that the haircut includes a complimentary hair wash ... upon request. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of this or informed at the time so I didn't receive the complimentary shampoo during my visit. [Conclusion]: Personally, this barber shop is a bit out of the way for me and I find $38 slightly pricey for a classic haircut without the shampoo. I've been getting my hair cut at this barbershop for 10 years, and let me be honest--I only stayed because of Cristina. When my original barber left, I thought that was my cue to bounce too... but then I sat in her chair. Best decision I've made for my hair. She's got serious skills--crispy lines, clean fades, and somehow she always knows exactly what I want even without explaining it. I get a haircut every 10 days so a haircut means a lot to me. She makes me at ease and relaxed instead of being tense during a cut. But what really sets her apart is her candor, humor, and big heart. She cares about her craft, she cares about her clients, and she'll have you laughing while looking better than you walked in. The whole staff is amazing by the way...I wouldn't have stayed here if I didn't feel that way. She's one of the best to ever do it. This particular review is just for this one experience, other than that it's normally a 5. I was looking forward to getting my hair cut as I was having an interview the next day. My neighbor was over and as I was about to leave, she had asked me about which barbershop I go to and if it's the one that our other friends go to. I stated "No, I go to Mr.Barber. They're really good and my hair has always looked great even though I've gotten a new stylist every time." I then proceeded to knock on wood and she laughed. Whenever I find a great stylist who understands my style and my hair; I stick to that stylist. Coming to Mr Barber is the only time I've been so trusting to let a new person cut my hair each time. Today was finally the day where that perfect streak ended. I was early for my appointment, but ended up waiting well past my appointment time before being seated. This guy was new and I've never seen him before but I felt like not only was he new to the shop, he was rookie barber. I knew this was gonna be bad but I decided to set my instincts aside and give him a chance. I explained to him what I was after and may have not used the correct terminology, but I showed him photos of the style I'm going for. I could see the look on his face was that of nervousness and I should've canceled or requested another stylist but I'm sure they were all busy and besides, I needed a cut to look sharp for my interview......I was better off just leaving my hair long. I warned him about my head having a flat spot/dip and to not run the clippers against it. Drop fade & square it up. No need to touch the top just texture it if anything. He does the opposite of what I asked except for not touching the top but he didn't texture it. Doesn't matter, it's not like it would've saved this cut. He asked how high I wanted the fade and I was thinking mid or at least low to leave length towards the top of my head to allow for some length in order to give the appearance of the back of my head being more round and masking that dip. He started way too high on the sides, ran the clipper against my head going into the dip & because of it, it looks weird if he didn't blend it and asks to do so. At this point I knew it didn't matter because he messed up from the start so I told him sure. Blend it. He goes in then says "See? it doesn't look bad." I couldn't really see as he was holding the mirror directly behind my head and so in the reflection I can't see what he's trying to show me ‍ So I'm having to move the mirror to the side so that I can see. At this point, it was FUBAR. He then asked about the top and I said yeah no need to touch it unless a texture it needed. I don't think he wanted to do anymore so he left it but using a comb and clipper went along the sides at the top and it came out so uneven. I know he knows he messed up and me being nice I was like "Yeah looks great!" I just wanted to get out of there and salvage what I could as it takes a while for my hair on top to get to a long enough length. This experience wasn't great but all my previous ones were. I'm upset and disappointed with my hair but it's okay. I now just have to deal with my hair being messed up while it grows back which for the back section will take a few months. I just hope that this barber is engaged in listening to his clients from this point on. I will continue to come back to MrBarber..... but to see the other stylists instead; all of which have been great. read more

Today is my boyfriends 3rd visit to Mr.Barber and he always leaves very happy with his haircut. He has a scar on the back of his head and Luanne really takes the time to make it a good hair cut while not reveling too much of the scar. She's very friendly and makes great conversation. She proceeded to do absolutely nothing that I requested in the span of barely 10 minutes to get me out of her chair quickly for another customer.
