Was told my number was 24 and while they are calling out numbers for people orders after awhile I got suspicious that when they yell out #4 they really mean 24 so I go up and ask if the #4 order contains the items I order and it does in which I reply "oh I was told 24 to which another employee with orange in her hair snarls "it's on your receipt" which would have been a valid point had I been offered a receipt on top of that my large fries were small or medium and my friends sourdough burger was deplorable not even toasted

Starving when we stopped off here. We were worried about the bad reviews but our teens wanted Western Bacon Cheeseburgers so we gave it a shot. The staff was really nice and the restaurant was clean. Our food came out relatively quick too. Our western bacon cheeseburgers and crosscut fries were fantastic! We will stop here again on our way home.

Great place for gourmet fast food.. We ordered hamburgers and fries. All made differently. It's inside a Loves Gas station. There was a line but the staff works quickly. We had a party of 6, ordered our food and we were eating within 25 minutes. The place did have a couple of flys flying around but it didn't bother us.

Stopped in late night heading back to Texas. Sign on the window has 2 sausage egg biscuits for $2.50. Went in to order and the guy goes to his manager and then comes back to tell me that they don't have that special anymore. I look at him and say it's right on your window. You would think a manager would just do it as a courtesy, but nope. So I go back out and take a picture of it then walk back in and tell them that someone should at least go back out and pull it down so no one else gets confused. Manager actually wasn't in but the shift manager Kassandra was in. The guy at the register was a total jerk. I won't return.

$3.12 single slice cheese, dried meat.

Well... I've learned two valuable lessons today; Continue to drive through Santa Rosa and don't eat fast food at truck stops.

What can I say, it's a burger joint that's attached to Loves truck stop. The food is hot, the soda is cold, and the ice cream is perfect.

Really need to update your hours. This place is not 24 hrs... neither is McDonald's right down the road... not even drive thru.

Terribly slow to no service. Ordered 3 breakfast sandwiches. 2 minutes later, no meal and not even a heads up that it would take long.

If you're making the drive between Santa Fe and Roswell, this is realistically the only stop--and…read morehonestly, it's a pretty solid one. Penny's has that classic roadside diner charm, complete with the shiny silver exterior and that satisfying old-school diner door. It leans into nostalgia in the best way, like you accidentally pulled into a time capsule somewhere along a desert highway. Inside was clean and well-kept, and the staff were attentive and friendly without being over the top--exactly what you want when you're road-weary and hungry. Food-wise, the burger hit the spot and the tots were crispy (always a win). Simple, classic diner food done right. A couple of knocks: the bathroom was just okay, nothing terrible but not great either. And the soda... not good. It had a strange flavor, almost like the lines hadn't been changed in a while--definitely stick with water or something bottled. Overall, it's not a destination restaurant, but for where it's at, it absolutely delivers. A reliable, nostalgic pit stop that does the job well. Worth the stop? Yes. Just skip the soda.

Finding Penny's is like striking gold (note: this review applies to their Yampa, Colorado, location…read moretoo). Either stretch of road is remote and food options are few and far between. When you see the lights are on, it's a relief. From what I understand, they're able to stay open 24 hours because of a contract with Big Rail, which keeps train crews fed and honestly, the rest of us travelers benefit too. I love that the choo-choos take care of their people while providing a service to anyone passing through. It's a cozy, welcoming stop when you need it most. The kind of place that makes a long drive feel less lonely. In the instance I'm in those parts of New Mexico or Colorado, Penny's is my go-to. Five stars!

You know what, heck yeah…read more Tucumcari is sleepy. And that's okay. A burger at Blake's, however, is not. It's good. Dare I say - it's even a little rowdy. I usually wind up here just passing through and have had a hard time finding something reliable that's Not A Chain, so this fits the bill. I rolled the dice and tried the online ordering, and my food was ready a lot faster than I thought it would be. Granted, I ordered an hour before closing (sorry) so your mileage may vary. It's a little on the expensive side, but whatever. It's like a hundred dollars to step out of your house anymore. I got out of here just under twenty bucks for a double New Mexico burger, a large fry, and a shake. The patties aren't really seasoned, but they're cooked well, and if you add the chopped chiles and some bacon, you'll be just fine. The seasoned fries are tasty. The shakes are average, but sometimes that chocolate syrup predictability is exactly what you need after hours of driving. The folks working here are friendly and diligent. So, despite the fact I spend most of my time in Tucumcari asleep, this burger definitely woke me up out of the zombie haze that i40 does to people. Looking forward to my next stop here. Don't let the lights on 66 go out. :)

We ordered a burrito, fries and drinks - a Manhattan for my wife and a chocolate martini with Kettle One and crème de cacao for me. My wife's drink was to her liking, but the chocolate martini tasted like there was coffee liqueur in it. Since I didn't know when our waitress would appear again, I told the first person we saw - a young man - that I couldn't drink anything with coffee because of the caffeine, and that I needed it remade. He took it back to redo. While we were waiting, one of the pool players dropped a very loud f-bomb when he missed a shot. Then a young child began crying very loudly. The young man came back with the remade drink, and the coffee taste was gone. After it had been over 45 minutes I had to ask what looked like the manager what had happened to our burrito and fries. She went back to check, and our food finally appeared. The burritos were long on rice and short on carne asada, something we couldn't know until we started eating. At some point our original waitress came back, and my wife told her we had to send back my first drink because of the coffee ingredient. She denied any coffee-containing spirit was used, and walked away. We never saw her again. I had to ask the manager for an itemized ticket, since the ones we had were sign for a total amount only, with no itemized detail. Since the original waitress had closed out our ticket right after we ordered and had given us our check, we paid and left. No tip was left. If you want a properly-mixed drink, be prepared to explicitly request every ingredient. Better still, don't expect great drinks or food at this place - stay away. There are lots of other choices in Las Vegas NM.
