I would say this was one of the best places (fast food wise) that we stopped at while on our trip. Ordered a Santa Fe Chili Chicken sammie and enjoyed it. Person behind me ordered something that was posted on the windows as a special. When they went to pay I overheard an argument about the pricing as I was filling my soda. Well with all the bad reviews I was skeptical to eat here. Being a truck driver we are already limited on what and where we can eat. My hopes were not high! BUT..... my hopes were restored! The cashier was pleasant! BUSY.... but pleasant. The cook asked me what I wanted so he could get it going so I didn't have to wait any long her than I already had. It was just them 2 working! And they weren't slammed. But they were busy for just 2 staff members. The cook had my entire order ready for me by the time the cashier took my order! Great job sir! As I was getting my drink my order was waiting for me... the cook did the same thing for the 2 gentleman after me! The food was hot and fresh! Taste was great just as I was hoping for too! Great place for gourmet fast food.. We ordered hamburgers and fries. All made differently. It's inside a Loves Gas station. There was a line but the staff works quickly. We had a party of 6, ordered our food and we were eating within 25 minutes. The place did have a couple of flys flying around but it didn't bother us. read more

When it comes to fast food, we loved Carl's Jr. It is usually our reliable go to, albeit a bit expensive for the fast food category. The one located at this Love's Travel Stop in Santa Rosa was a total disappointment. We got there a bit after lunch time along with everyone else, so there was a huge line. We decided to wait and it actually did not take as long as I had expected. The man taking our order took a while and I seemed to go too fast and had to repeat myself several times and re-ask for several items he forgot (milk instead of soda for kids meal, and the ranch for the chicken nuggets). Their sodas were very flat and they were out of the sweet tea that my mother-in-law was wanting. We got our food to go and ate it on the road. It seemed to be fine until my mother-in-law found a hair in her zucchini. She was hoping that it had just fallen in at the end and just that those things happen sometimes. She then was eating her burger and found a long one right in the patty and condiments! Needless to say, that was a wasted $25!! All of us could not really eat any of the food left after that. Stopped in late night heading back to Texas. Sign on the window has 2 sausage egg biscuits for $2.50. Went in to order and the guy goes to his manager and then comes back to tell me that they don't have that special anymore. I look at him and say it's right on your window. You would think a manager would just do it as a courtesy, but nope. So I go back out and take a picture of it then walk back in and tell them that someone should at least go back out and pull it down so no one else gets confused. An amazingly surreal experience in which it took me 45 minutes to get my (completely wrong) order after the cashier cried about it. I finally limped out of there holding a bag of cold, soggy 'fries' and being thankful I don't live in Santa Rosa. I will say that I wanted to give this place two stars because the lady that took my order was super nice and was even patient with the guest in front of me that had some dietary restrictions and was try hard to accommodate him at 11:30 at night with nothing else to choose from. But that's where the niceness ended. She went in the back to do whatever and all I got was one one the cooks from that point on. I watched another cook slap our burgers together which made it difficult to eat I ordered two #8's both with waffle fries. I got in the car and noticed a fry was missing strike #1. Turned around went back in and told the same guy that he forgot a fry. At which point he informed me that I was only charged for 1. Strike #2. I told him that I order 2 of the same thing at which point he check the order screen and said no again. Strike #3. I went to the trash got my receipt out that I had just put there 3 minutes earlier and showed him where I had ordered two of the same thing. Only then did he go back and start cooking more fries. Because I had to wait I can only presume that he didn't want to drop another batch of fries. Now my hamburger is cold. I can only think of one reason why he would deny me three times which translates to the appearance that he was more willing to cheat me on my order that I had paid for then go through the motions to fulfill my order completely. We ordered for a family of four people. The receipt total was over $30 for our meal. The Sante Fe chicken sandwich had a rubbery texture so did not eat it. I just sat quietly until my daughter told me her bacon cheeseburger had cold bacon. We opened it up and found the bacon to be nearly raw. I told the cashier and she called the manager up front. The manager told us that was the way she liked the bacon, so that is the way the bacon is going to be. The manager here is very rude and unfriendly.
