It may not look like much on the outside but rest assured there's plenty to appreciate. That's high praise for a place not named Buc'ees. There is so much to process here. There is most of the basic things that come with rest stops with snacks, drinks, and (fairly clean) bathrooms. However, there's so much more: full fledged hot food restaurant serving legit Cajun specialties, souvenirs galore, multiple gas station pumps, and Tesla superchargers. The restaurant has boudin balls and cracklins like much of the surrounding area, but they've also got a few fabulous items worth getting. They close in the early evening and are not open on Sundays. During the late night hours, the hot foods become super limited with junk food pizza and hot dogs. And best of all? They're open 24 hours.

There is a little gift shop that sells a lot of Louisiana memorabilia at good prices. The ladies behind the counter are extremely friendly and helpful. They have a guest book to sign. They'll give you a free Map if you ask. This is a nice stop as the official rest area isn't open yet. So it's about 20-25 miles from the Texas/Louisiana border, but it's a nice stop with friendly people. Stop if you get a chance. You won't regret it. It also features local art and lots of gators! The one in the main door scared my mom walking in.
