Well, As we were…read moredriving home for Gulf Shores Alabama, we stopped for some subway in Baton Rouge. Anyway, about 30-40 minutes later a member of our car informed me, they really gotta go. And pulling over on the side of the highway wasn't gonna work ( unless you had a trash bag and 5 gallon bucket) - if you know what I mean. Anyway, this was the first Gas station we could get to in order to avoid an accident. Anyway, upon pulling up, I felt bad. Because on the outside it looked like they'd have to deal with dirty "facilities". After sometime, waiting... you know... they walk out the door all smiles and relieved. Not that they stomach didn't still bother them, but that 1) no accidents. 2) the "facilities" were super clean and they had high quality TP in charmin ultra! Anyway, folks inside were nice and it was connected to a small casino. Moral of the story, don't judge a book my the cover and if you need clean restroom outside Texas where buc'ees isn't available, well this is worth a shot.

Instead, I searched ahead on Google Maps and found that B&W Grocery had a lunch menu with a shrimp poboy. It was very affordable ($9 for poboy with fries) and was exactly what I was craving. The staff here was very friendly and the store is stocked with the bare essentials which includes lots of ice cold beer as well as a number of fuel islands that seems to be popular with the local fishermen. Market Basket was the 1st & I'm pretty sure will be the last to refuse my current, unexpired state drivers license. I left & went to a Brookshire Brothers to handle my business where the workers were extremely kind & treated me like a human being. I was planning to shop there that day as I have at this location hundreds of times over the years. I will never shop at Market Basket or do business with them again & you shouldn't either if you want to be treated fairly.

Ohhhh you're not familiar with Boudin- The term "boudin" in the Acadiana cultural region of Louisiana is commonly understood to refer only to boudin blanc and not to other variants. Boudin blanc is the staple boudin of this region and is the one most widely consumed. Also popular is seafood boudin consisting of crab, shrimp, and rice. Boudin is also referred to as rice sausage outside of Louisiana of course, containing lots of green onions, red pepper and other Cajun spices, pork and liver all ground and cooked then mixed with rice prior to stuffing it inside a natural or synthetic casing - it can be smoked or eaten as is, it's often eaten alongside saltine crackers and Louisiana Hot Sauce.
