JOB: Paint livingroom & foyer, remove old baseboard & window moldings install new. Install 3 new doors. Run wires for TV, install wall mount & TV. Skim coat & paint bathroom. Tile over existing tile floor & reglaze tiles. Issues: Painting/molding- 1. Painting around light switch rather than removing as a professional would. (picture attached) 2. Incorrect paint finish used on bathroom walls which led to cracking & now has to be redone (picture attached) 3. Fail to sand bathroom door frame (picture) 4. Sloppy seams and excessive chalk used on new baseboard moldings (pictures) 5. Used cut baseboard molding for window molding rather than using what I showed him matching what was in my bedroom. TV- 1. Unaware of what wires to pull which lead me running to spectrum to find out. a. If a contractor accepts a job, it's reasonable to expect them to know how to fully complete not ask me in the middle of doing it. 2. Wanting to plaster around pulled HDMI cable after pulling it. What does one do if wire needs to be replaced break the wall? a. There are switch plates for this, I am a female who works in finance - how do I know this and not a professional contractor? 3. Multiple attempts to hang TV mount with no attempt to repair holes left. (picture) 4. Nail Damaged spectrum wire. After job was complete, had to have spectrum rerun a new wire. I removed old wire, repaired holes and painted. Damage to home- 1. Numerous scratches left on my wood floor (pictures) 2. Someone/ thing slammed into foyer light breaking inner light bulb, nearly got glass in my face when I removed it to clean. I find no joy in leaving a negative review however would not want someone else going thru what I did. **Updated in response to company** I had no intention on responding but my review was 100% honest, I can't say the same for the response. This is 100% a lie... "In regards to plastering around an hdmi cable, we simply asked if we should do so, so that there isn't a large plate on the wall or if they would like a plate installed. This has been done both ways and is simply a matter of preference. As shown in the picture, with holes behind the tv bracket, would love the opportunity to correct if allowed." You did not ask! I asked you and if I didnt you would have plastered around the wire. There was no option given you did not even have the plate to use. I had to run to Home Depot to get your crew the plate. Additionally you were given the opportunity to correct the holes as you were made aware prior to final day; you made the concious choice not to. This is a lie as well " The following day, the scratch was brought to our attention. Of course, this was very distressing and immediately offered to have the floors refinished." Per text On Friday 1/6 at 10:07am you advised " I can come back with golden oak and blend it in. It will still be slightly noticeable but not to someone not looking for it" I responded back on Friday 1/6 10:14am. I did not hear back until Monday at 10:57am but this time I had already went to home depot and made the best of situation left. To my knowledge golden oak and refinishing floors are not the same, moot point. I am sure you are capable of fanatastic work but that isn't what was provided to me. As you are aware there were other issues, missed paint spots that I had to touch up. The picture of molding is just one spot there were many. Wanting to tile around the toliet bowl. And of course there's plenty of room to customize and apply the design to your specific space from there during your consultation, but all the "heavy lifting" has been done for you. A complete nightmare of a hire! Minar comes off as nice and knowledgeable at first, until the…read morework starts, then the nightmare begins. Minar prefers to deal in cash (red flag), and he tries to avoid actual contracts. He will try to change the price on you and leave things off contract so they can be added in/upcharged later. Classic slimy contractor move. Although we did not pay in cash, and did have a contract, he still tried to cut corners and the workers had to be watched closely to make sure they did what was contracted. The problem here is Minar drops his team off in the morning and leaves them to do whatever, no supervision at all. Although nice, they barely spoke any English and it was very difficult to communicate any issues with them. Work had to be stopped consistently to ensure they were doing what they were supposed to be doing. Scope of work: We had RH repair exterior balconies, replace stucco bottoms and install tiles on top. Work was supposed to be completed in two weeks, and it took TWO MONTHS, and they still hadn't finished by that point. Besides the absolute mess they left daily, they consistently damaged things as they went along. A few highlights: - Damaged an interior door handle/lock - Clogged a roof trough gutter with a cloth they threw into it that resulted in a leak in the building/one of the apartments during heavy rainfall, damaging the interior walls as well as some furniture - One of the workers spilled an entire 5 gallon bucket of grout water from the top floor hallway/stairwell and it leaked down two floors below leaving grout residue on the tile floors - Didn't protect the exterior of the building while doing cement work and cement ended up everywhere, facade, windows etc. They tried scrubbing it off but it just smeared everywhere We ended up firing them 3/4 of the way through the job and not paying the full amount bc they clearly were not capable of doing the work contracted. We had them pull up tile twice because they had no idea how to properly install it. We eventually hired tilers who knew what they were doing, and felt such relief that it was done properly. We're not at all happy with how the balconies turned out. We truly regret hiring RH Construction and would highly recommend anyone look elsewhere for any construction needs.

I hired Minar for my Brooklyn apartment's gut renovation - after firing the first contractor who…read moreslipped both in work quality and timing. To pick up where someone else left off is always more challenging. Minar has many years of expertise so he was (thankfully) up for this challenge. He recognized the technical aspects of working in an older building - how the bathroom walls needed to be built out, the tile formats, how the plumbing worked, how the apartment walls could be refinished to look modern, installing custom size entry and closet doors etc. He maintained a good working relationship so I was happy to run all my ideas by him. He brings a good sense of design so it was complementary to my taste as well. He gave me a timeline and delivered on time and within budget. After much frustration owing to the snafu with the first contractor, I really enjoyed working with Minar and more importantly, I was always up to date on the progress. I highly recommend Minar's company for your next renovation project. He will get it done and do it really well.
