Kris was patient and flexible as I navigated multiple start date delays due to other work going on in my home, and his price was very reasonable. First I must state that it is the rare occasion when I will take the time to write a review, and in every one of those rare occasions where I have written a review it was because the service was so exceptional that I felt it would be unjust not to. THIS occasion, however, where I've found myself compelled to write a review is DIFFERENT and I am writing this review because my experience was so OUTRAGEOUS that I feel strongly that to not write a review would serve as a public injustice. STAY AWAY from KD Cares Painting as the owner, who identified himself as "Kris" is EXTREMELY rude and argumentative, and for No Reason!! I called KD Cares Painting and spoke with the owner Kris. In explaining my painting needs and stating that the reason I'm seeking to get my house (at least the upstairs) painted was because I needed to replace the carpet going up the stairs and throughout the upstairs of my home. I further stated that "it was my understanding" from getting carpet quotes that I should get the paint job done first which made sense to me because I could see how paint could possible get on the new carpet especially around the trim areas on the bottom of the wall where the wall meets the carpet. Upon the hearing of what "my understanding was", that the painting should be done first, Kris, again, the OWNER of KD Cares, LITERALLY went OFF! He started asking me who were these people who told me that; asking were they doctors or lawyers (which was crazy), stating in a VERY aggressive tone that he and his company represented "pebbles" while every other contractor including anyone who told me that the painting should be done before the carpeting is "bam bam". He went on to VERY aggressively state that he is "pebbles"because he does work with care which is why his painting must be done first and that ALL companies who lay carpet are "bam bams" in that they would ALL come into my home "punching and kicking walls and would be knocking up against walls with their machines and his paint job would be ruined". Every time I tried to interrupt him given the crazy nature of what he was saying and the VERY aggressive tone with which he was speaking, he wouldn't allow it, continuing to aggressively speak and talk over me. And after this literal rant Kris, in a very rude and nasty tone thanked me for calling and was clearly on his way to hanging up the phone but I just held the phone because I was in shock! Upon his realizing that I was still on the line, he stated, again, in an extremely rude and nasty tone, "thank you" and hung up the phone. I am honestly still in shock while writing this. I can tell you with 100% certainty that given what I just experienced, it is my firm belief that the positive reviews about KD cares painting and its owner Kris HAVE to be FAKE because, given the completely unprovoked, outrageously rude experience I've just encountered with Kris, as I've stated above, there's just no way. Please be advised people. And if you choose to exercise your right to use KD Cares for you painting needs, just know that you've been forewarned. Kris is unprofessional, sloppy and honestly crazy. I hired him and his company for a job...we agreed on a price for my apartment and hallway. I made him aware multiple times that the hallway was a significantly bigger job that he was anticipating and that a carpet was scheduled to be installed after he painted. Over the phone, he assured me that his verbal quotes are valid only and does need to see the job for a proper estimate, he also mentioned the the carpet needs to be installed before he started painting because in his personal opinion the company would damage the paint job because of how "Rough" they are when their work is performed. The day the work was scheduled to be performed, I sent my son to let Kris and his team in, and give him the deposit because it was scheduled as a 2 day job. He requested to be paid for the full apartment instead of the original 50%, which my son did...and he would take payment of the hallway when he came back. Now he is telling me that he doesnt not need to return because the contract was completed and was is fully paid. I now have to find another painter to do the hallway despite having an invoice from his company detailing the full scope of the original job. read more

It takes a lot for me to take the time to write a review for any company but these guys are one of the rare exceptions. From the moment I spoke to Kris the owner on the phone I knew this was the company I was going to hire. My Mother in Laws house which is 98 years old was painted in a hideous bright yellow color in every room, the walls are constructed with wood lathe and plaster. After her passing, for us to change the walls to sheet rock would entail a full gut and was not an option, the cost would be tremendous. I researched painting companies and came across KDCARES and saw pretty much perfect reviews which makes me suspicious right off the bat. I then went to YOUTUBE and saw his painting videos, that sealed the deal for me. After two other estimates for painting the entire interior of the house (3 bedrooms, front room, living room, dining room, kitchen, basement (with old wooden 70's paneling we decided to paint over) Kris came in at a reasonable price for 2 coats of paint on every wall in the house including patching holes and priming all the paneling in the basement. THE JOB: Took 4 days, his crew was in front of my house sipping coffee 30-45 mins EARLY every day until I opened my front door at 7AM (NO JOKE). From the minute they walked in the work was literally like a choreographed concert, every man had their role, my BRAND-NEW RUGS were covered with tarps as well as my furniture. Not a single drop of paint Anywhere, no taping was done, all free hand to the edges of my walls and ceilings. Every day they cleaned up, put all their supplies and paints in a section of the house and ensured all the paint cans were covered. Kris was a maniac about being clean and neat. HIS STAFF: Kris, the owner is obviously a master at his craft but so was his staff... OLDER DAN, YOUNGER DAN and Keith have been painting for many years and are also obviously master painters. They respected my house; they asked every time they used the bathroom to let me know they were going to a room where I was not present. We all had pleasant conversations, but they never stopped working during our chats. Kris kept his eye on every aspect of the process. These guys are true gentleman, no cursing or arguing they helped each other and picked out a few areas during the process that needed extra work and they just fixed it. PAYMENTS: As the Job went on and I made payments, Kris had an APP that I "finger signed" for every payment and IMMEDIATELY sent receipts to my EMAIL. WHO THE HELL DOES THIS? He required half deposit of the total at the start of the job, then it was pay-as-you-go, he also picked up all the paint in the color my wife chose. THE RESULTS: From the beginning Kris explained due to the construction of the house (Lathe and Plaster) The job would not be flawless but would look much better, boy was he not kidding!! The project came out ABSALUTLY BEAUTIFUL. The walls in this house were a train wreck, my in-laws previously hired the worst people to paint the interior years ago and they used the wrong type of paint IE used water base paint over oil base or visa versa cant remember but Kris and his crew fixed it ALL. I could not thank them enough for their outstanding work. You guys changed our house quality for the better, so nice to sit in the rooms looking clean and brand new. CONCLUSION: Whether you take my review as genuine or not hire KDCARES......NEVER HIRE A GENERAL CONTRACTOR to paint. HIRE PRO PAINTERS ONLY! One of my estimates was 18k and nowhere near Kris's estimate. I wish Kris and his crew continues success and prosperity they deserve this detailed and long-winded review. KD Cares Painting expertly painted our walls and did not leave a speck of paint on our woodwork or moldings. The paint job was perfect.
