Working with Damian and his team has been a pleasure. We emailed for a quote and he asked some questions and for some photos of the space. (Every other person we emailed for a quote did the same. None came to visit, and with COVID I was cool with that.) His quote was consistent with most of the other highly rated folk we reached out to for quotes. What set him apart was his clear emails with detailed pricing. It was clear that he knew painting was expensive, and people imagine doing everything at once and think of it as all-or-nothing. His pricing model showed it was some-at-a-time. (We did go all in though :) ) He was very responsive on email and answered questions from the mundane to the esoteric with patience and clarity. He came the day before the job was supposed to start to drop off supplies and map out everything that was should happen with me and his team. His team was great, polite, and professional. The speed and quality of the work was amazing. Everyone was happy to answer questions and explain what was happening. For me, the true test was with an accident that happened. Relatively minor, but Damian took full ownership and made it right without any discussion. That is how you do it. He gave great advice throughout the process, and respected what I needed. My building is super specific insurance requirements, and Damian got the COI taken care of quickly and right the first time. The invoice price was the same as the quote price, which sets 212 above the competition. Work was done quickly, thoroughly and satisfactorily. I was desperate. There had been massive flood damage in my dining room on top of already peeling 20-year old paint that I somehow hadn't managed to get to, and now after staring at it all day, every day, from my covid office (dining room) the building manager had finally sent a painter. It was a disaster, and I had to ask him to leave. He kept saying "I'm only paid to treat these three spots." (Three separate leaks.). Meanwhile you can be sure paint was separating and falling from the walls in more than three spots(the building is 100 years old this year!), not to mention the water damage stains were epic and he did nothing to treat them. There I was with filth everywhere and no obvious solution to the problem or end in sight, and I was desperate. I called the first number that came up in google and it went from the worst day to my lucky day, because Damian answered the phone. Damian is like the paint whisperer. There is so much more to painting than you ever thought to imagine, and he knows all of it. First thing he did was talk me down from my panic, and then he saved me. Damian sent Chris. Chris examined every surface, scraped like a maniac and then plastered like the pro that he is. He was such a perfectionist about his work, and demonstrated an amazing work ethic. My wife and I were in the process of renovating a loft space which the previous tenants had done a horrific job caring for. The space is very large for NYC standards (~1800 sq ft) and has an industrial vibe, making it less than straightforward to paint: there are 15' ceilings that are not flat or uniformly distributed. I reached out to about 10 painters I had identified on Yelp to begin vetting them for reviews and from the moment Damian stepped into the apartment, the distinction between him and the others was palpable. Whereas other painters I was getting estimates from focused on immediately trying to sell me on what a good job they would do, Damian focused first on thoroughly understanding the job, and what we were hoping to achieve with the space. He took detailed measurements before providing any estimates (which I was happy to see; after reading stories about others who had given deposits to lesser painters, only to see hidden charges emerge down the line, I wanted to ensure the estimates I received would be inclusive and accurate). After outlining the job to Damian, and hearing his plan of attack, which included a detailed strategy to eliminate oil stains that had seeped through the floor above us, Damian came back with his quote. As this job was large, the most efficient way to paint the space would be to tape the floors off and spray everything. Although his quote was a little bit higher than some of the other painters I spoke with (some of which were impossibly low and gave me a knot in my stomach anticipating the BS these guys were sure to pull down the line had they gotten the job) I chose Damian and am very happy I did. No job is straightforward, but I didn't pay a penny over what we had agreed upon and, furthermore, Damian was focused on making sure the job was a) done perfectly and b) completed to accommodate our timeline (our old lease was coming to a close, so we only had about 4 days to do everything). Damian even came back a couple days later with one of his guys to put an additional coat on one section of wall for no additional charge. The space is now beautiful and I attribute that in large part to the job Damian and his team did. I would use Damian again in a heartbeat and strongly recommend his services to anyone looking for a painter in the NY area! read more

He measured and calculated each room and explained everything to me as he was doing it. Once we agreed on price he and the crew came out the next morning and knocked out the project in half the time of the original estimate. When the project was completed Damian checked in to make sure I was happy. I didn't pay until the job was over and I was happy. Prices are reasonable, he's not the cheapest but that's a good thing. He came to my office on the same day I initially called and provided a very reasonable estimate that evening.
