I usually wait to buy my supplies before winter hits. I have a very hard time finding the Chinese sausage the Kam Yen Jan brand, not sure why it's hit and miss at stores, but it is, not sure if it just not popular in the east coast as much as it is in the west coast where I could buy it at any Asian market. Thought and suggestions on where I could purchase, would be greatly appreciated, because when I do find it, I usually buy about 10 packages. I found a wide variety of fresh produce, including unique Asian vegetables and fruits. The quality of the produce and other products was excellent. Everything looked fresh and well-maintained. You can see employees prepping and bagging/wrapping fresh produce. The meat and seafood counters were well-stocked. There was also a traditional chinese BBQ counter with things like Char Siu and crispy roasted pork which was a great and welcomed suprise to me. The aisles were filled with a good range of spices, sauces, noodles, and other pantry staples from different asian cultures that I stocked up on. You can tell the store was a little older and gives your traditional Asian supermarket vibes so if that holds you back, I would say give them a chance anyway as it is clean, well-organized, and reminds me of my childhood stores. I found the prices to be very competitive.

On multiple occasions, I've been greeted by staff upon entering the store. As with most Trader Joe's stores, it is a small grocery store, but there is always some treasure to be discovered. As much as I've tried to deny it, it has been a place to get some essentials and convenience items at a pretty good price. They always come out with some unique, seasonal items and I'm typically upset when they are sold out for the season. However, that's the fun of going to Trader Joe's! If you've read my previous reviews of other Trader Joe's stores, I usually have some sort of complaint about the parking lot. You can't tell me that Trader Joe's doesn't pick the worst section of the parking lot to place their stores. With that being said, the parking lot at this particular Trader Joe's is actually somewhat okay. It is at the end of a strip mall/shopping center, so it's on a corner, but not terrible. Just be sure to pay attention to the signs saying you can't turn in certain directions.

So I ask one of the TJ awesome staff if they have any and they said no, But to call Middletown, so I have yet another Dr's appt close by, I call, and low and behold they have plenty... Mom saves the lunch crises once again. NOW, if you have not had these dumplings, you need to buy them, 6 cute little light, airy dumplings that you can steam them in the packaging in your microwave OR in steamer, but MINI-Me takes these to work and pops them in the micro, adds soy sauce, and chili crisp and she is happy. I bought the vegetable and pork, I prefer the pork and chicken flavored dumplings. They are absolutely easy to cook, work in a pinch and are very filling for lunch and they break up the old sandwich / salad crisis, just grab it out of your freezer and take to work. Most people go in there for lottery and extensive selection of scratch offs. There always friendly and parking is available. It's the same mall as a liquor store and la villa pizza. Definitely has its convenient items unfortunately at a higher price. There's even a selection of greeting cards. A small selection of cigarettes and cigars etc. Hard to compete with wawa in next mall but this place does okay I suppose. I do believe the lottery is there bread n butter. They have selection of beverages and milk with a few odds and ends thrown in. It's usually always busy best time to go is early. They are closed by 8pm. So if your a scratch off fanatic or just wanna play the lottery this is the place to check out.

I always 'bump' into nice fun people I know while I'm there, and I always see good things that I didn't think of and weren't on 'my shopping list' that I end up very happy I walked out with. My prediction is that this store is going to keep getting better and better over time. These are obviously very hard working people who are committed to providing their customers with a quality experience.

I started asking one of the attendants about the ingredients when she gestured to get someone else to help in English. The lady that came over was so friendly, patiently explained any dishes I had questions about, gave me samples to make decisions, and gave me candid recommendations on the entrees and desserts. She spent a total of 15-20 minutes with me just to plan a small gathering for three: three types of salad, Hungarian chicken, lamb samsa, and two types of deserts, which rang up to $70. The salads were instant home runs, so fresh and tasty, and everyone raved about it. Most customers speak Russian with the attendants, and it looks like most attendants can provide at least minimal assistance in English. I see myself coming back regularly to try other goodies.

Although there is no store brand, all of their name brand products are even cheaper than those in competing stores. The layout is easy to figure out since it is in the smaller side for a super market. The only thing that isn't great is the amount of variety available but there is enough of each type of product. I'm sure it is because they are in there first couple of weeks from being open but there is not an excessive amount of staff. The ones that were there though we very friendly! A great first experience overall and plan to return soon!!
