    Nail through wall
    Steven K.

After some damage to our siding from a recent storm, we decided to replace all of our siding. We obtained several bids, and Mr. Roof had good reviews, used quality materials, gave a competitive bid and could start within several weeks. Project was scheduled. We were then contacted; project was pushed back "due to weather", and in all fairness we had had a lot of rain. Project rescheduled. Contacted again to push back project. Contact person confided that they had counted on an additional crew, that did not materialize. So, I took this to mean that too many jobs got booked. Rescheduled for the third time. Finally started 2 months late. Day 1: started at 11:30 AM. Day 2: started at 09:50AM, day 3: 10:35AM and day 4: 10:00AM. Originally told that it would take three days, but now, longer. Most projects we have done have 0800 starts. Now for the bad part. Came home from dinner to find multiple nails through the bedroom wall, that they were working on as we left for dinner. I spoke with project manager Kevin and his manager, Justin and I asked "just to be clear, nails through the walls are acceptable?" and both stated that per the contract, that is acceptable damage that they are not responsible for. They did offer to patch with drywall mud. Buyer beware. I will check with company policy, but workers smoked (on the job, not just on breaks) frequently. Poor cleanup on some days, with nails and cigarette butts on our back patio: yard was supposed to be cleaned daily. Gate to backyard was left open first 2 days, until we had to remind them to close it. We have a dog and we found this a real issue. Just had house painted and lots of dirty smudges on trim. Also, there was no consideration for our landscaping. Scrap thrown over plants and one Japanese maple was destroyed. Silicone caulk on multiple places on patio that required professional cleaning. I understand weather delays. Simple courtesy issues, and cleanup as promised, should not have to be addressed by the customer. In short, I would never use again! Photos enclosed.

I called Mr. Roof to get an estimate for repair/replace siding that came loose. They gave me an estimate of $950. I called another roofing company, they gave me an estimate of $225. I went with the other company and the work took about 30 min. I was very disappointed in Mr. Roof's pricing. I strongly suggest you get a couple of estimates, and consider smaller companies.

had my roof replaced by MrRoof around 7years ago told me my 30 year old roof deck needed replaced so we went ahead and done it mind you it was a 10 thousand added to our 20 thousand dollar re shingle job but it had to be done had some leaking going on. now 7 years later we had some shingles blow off from the wind so filled claim with insurance and called Mr Roof to do the work got an estimate and a few days before it was going to get started there project manager at the time informed me he was going to do it on the side through his new roofing company he stated that he wouldn't use Mr Roof because they would be way higher than the ins company approved to pay so hired a different company because sounded a little weird and I wanted a warranty. the new company removed shingles and discovered the sheathing wasn't installed properly they didn't follow code and use h clips so caused decking to buckle and warp so bad they couldn't shingle back over it without having issues contacted Mr Roof thinking they would make it right oh how wrong I was all I wanted them to do was cover the 3k I spent sense the crew they subcontracted didn't go by building code and cut corners so they could hurry to the next job sad because I have used them for windows,Roof and gutters and refered 2 people in our neighborhood who also used them for roof replacement I pray they didn't cut corners on any of my other projects or the others peoples. so if you want work done quickly and not by code or a taillight warranty call Mr roof.

You might think that seems like a fishy tactic to lure in customers for shoddy work. Definitely not the case here! Scheduling the appointment was a breeze and the technician let me know when he was on the way. My issue was a dead circuit board in my 20 year old garage door opener. The tech went over the replacement options along with clear and upfront pricing. Once I decided, he was able to do the install right away! While he was there he went ahead and gave my other garage a tune-up as well. Both doors are quieter and smoother than they have ever been. It's actually kind of amazing how much better they are now. I highly recommend them for anything to do with your garage doors. Thanks!

Lonnie took my call, answered all my questions, and quoted me a fair price based on what other such installations have cost. A month later I called them and scheduled the installation. (Needed to get some electrical work done first.) When Adam arrived he did some quick measurements based on how the garage doors opened and informed me that the track for the belt drive openers wouldn't fit since I had such a low ceiling. He took photos and discussed it with Nick, the Service Manager. After some serious discussions a solution was found and thanks to the exceptional team of Adam, Nick, and Lonnie I now have excellent garage door openers and an answer why previous owners never installed them. Great problem solvers!

I have followed up more than they have. If I spend 4 hours having someone come out to my house, I expect a quote. Also during the their presentation, the sales man said "do you need me to go slower for you" and then they laughed? Super condescending and weird, but hey that's sales guys for you. If you're trying to land a 70k job, shouldn't customer service be at your forefront? (I understood everything perfectly, by the way) They "ballparked" 70k, which is 50,000 more than another official quote I received. The guys at Schottenstein gave me a similar presentation at a quarter of the cost. I'd completely pass this company up if you're getting bids.

What was supposed to be a 3-4 day project according to the contract ended up taking about a month, mainly due to poor communication, delays, and lack of project management. Our gutters and downspouts were removed and left sitting in our yard for three weeks, and our home went over a month without gutters, which led to water intrusion during storms--something we had never experienced before. The initial soffit and fascia work was also done poorly and required multiple follow-ups before it was finally corrected. Throughout the entire process, communication was extremely poor. We repeatedly had to contact the company ourselves just to get updates or have issues addressed. Promised callbacks from management never happened, and at one point we were even told our bill might be sent to collections while we were still waiting for the company to return our calls regarding unresolved concerns. There were also basic professionalism issues, including trash left in our yard by the crew, including fast-food bags that my dogs got into. The only reason this review is not even worse is because Robert, the replacement project manager, eventually corrected the installation issues, and Phil later took the time to listen to our concerns and offer a partial discount. Unfortunately, that only happened after weeks of frustration and repeated attempts to get someone to respond. Overall, the experience showed serious issues with communication, scheduling, and project oversight. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this company

This is only reviewing the cost & sales pitch of Champion Windows in regard to replacement windows…read more If you're in need of a good laugh for some absolute ABSURDITY...welcome! I began researching and contacting local window replacement companies in the greater Cincinnati area as I need five vinyl windows replaced. Prior to Champion coming out, I had one other company, Windows Plus, come out. Windows Plus quoted just over $6000.00, triple-paned, double-hung, lifetime warranty. Champion arrived at my home, a male sales rep & another male sales rep-in-training. Explained what I needed due to current state of windows, then we got down to the nitty gritty. Sales rep goes back outside to get his bag of tricks and then we got going. This is my favorite part... Do you know how a window works? Do you know the purpose windows should serve? (I rather think that most average people have the basics down. If not, at least Google the general properties of a window.) Sales rep proceeds to show me what Champion windows are made of, Virgin vinyl vs Recycled vinyl, what makes them better than other companies, then explains the novel idea that windows serve the purpose of keeping cold air out/heat inside in winter and vice versa in summer. Gosh...who knew??? Don't forget the binder showing how other well-known companies pale in comparison... Then he proceeds to bust out the cold compressed air can with a temperature gauge from the bag of tricks to show me the purpose windows serve...you know, keeping the cold air outside. Groundbreaking stuff. Now let's get to the pricing, because this was the best part. For five windows, rectangular, nothing unique: Initial quote: just over $22, 000.00. BUT, I called at just the right time, for the great deal of BUY TWO GET TWO FREE. With that timely miracle, it is now just over $13,000.00. (insert my astonishment and laughter here) To be followed by the line essentially asking if Champion can sign me up for this fantastic deal right now, because if I sign right now, I can get another 10% off. My steadfast reply: "I will not be making any decisions today". So as the sales rep is packing up, he then proceeds to ask if he makes a phone call, if he can get it down to around $9,000.00, would I be willing to sign up today? My reply is the same as before, "I will not be making any decisions today". This gives the same vibes as a car salesman, trying to make a deal, trying to get this thing done today, and it's very off-putting. While I get this is how someone makes their living, the ridiculousness of that initial quote is actually insulting. Inflating costs to make it seem as if the "deal" you are presenting, the buy 2 get 2 free, is a fantastic deal, is 100% a joke. To so easily go from over $22,000.00 to offering around $9,000.00, you must think most people are suckers. Which maybe some people aren't good with face-to-face interactions, or standing their ground, and if you're not, then have a friend with a backbone with you so that you don't get bamboozled. I did also make it a point to explain to the sales rep that the windows in my kitchen had been replaced with vinyl windows in 2011, and those cost a whopping $330.00 a window, totaling around $1000.00 (a retired contractor friend). Even given "INFLATION", which is a favorite word of sales reps to throw around to justify increasing costs, which has actually gone up around 43-45% from 2011-2025, even if inflation doubled the cost of those windows, that is nowhere near the price he was trying to sell me on. Champion sales reps may try to explain away the exorbitant costs by emphasizing how they make their windows in-house, virgin vinyl is better than recycled vinyl (which is true but not unique to Champion), their lifetime warranty that can be transferred to the next homeowner (also not unique to Champion), the felt-lined bottom of the window (also not unique as my current vinyl windows have that). It is all a curated sales pitch that they follow, along with asking you questions such as "What was your favorite part of what I have told you so far about Champion?"...though this question is posed before you are given the price. Well my favorite part was when I got to go into work the next day and have all my coworkers (a few of whom are also looking at getting windows replaced) guess the quote I got from Champion. And this is why I am getting in touch with contractors instead of these "big name" companies who try to pull a fast one or think potential customers are really that gullible. At the very least, save yourself the headache of getting a quote from Champion.

I was surprised however that I had to contract for my own flooring, but it was/is fine. How wonderful to sit outside without BUGS. It is a four season room and I love it. I also got small windows at the bottom for my little dog and he loves it too. I highly recommend this company. Champion absolutely stands behind their products. While the "sunroom guys" were here they fixed a problem I was having with my storm door, which had been Champion installed in 2021. There are probably other companies that would be less expensive, but if you want the BEST and a company that stands behind their products, always choose Champion. Even though I am rapidly approaching 80, I love that this Champion Sunroom will be passed down for generations! I am a very happy and returning customer!

If they ever contact me about this I have the photos to prove it. The person in the photo risked his life to put some caulk on some windows on two front second story windows they previously installed. No safety man. No Safety harness. Nothing....... So this company gets nothing. I pray NO ONE gets injured installing their windows. I take "Yelp" seriously. I am glad to be able to offer my perspective on a few places I go to. But there is nothing worth your life. Yes. It is THAT SERIOUS. Two man teams ( minimum )... The proper use of safety equipment ( if not at all ) is a must. If I was a supervisor for this company I would have dismissed the employee for cause... failure to use proper and required safety equipment and policies to prevent serious injury or death.... Now most of you may not think this is important... Look at it this way: You want to buy some windows. But there will be a difference paying ( for example .. ), $$350 for a 18" X 36" window instead of $189 because that former has to pay higher insurance premiums in addition to his already high overhead and O&M expenses because people are applying for Short or Long Term Disability because their people are getting hurt. ...and who pays for that...? That's right... YOU DO..! Class Dismissed....KIRK OUT...! Like I said.... It's THAT serious.

Our kitchen door feels like it is locked often, but it's not, it also was poorly installed so you have to turn the knob and feel the grinding and crunching of metal as you open the door. However, the real issue is with the storm door with retractable screens on top and bottom Window pane. We have dogs and do not use the bottom screen in an effort to prevent damage from dog scratching. However, our HVAC stopped working over the weekend therefore I was excited to use the bottom screen feature so I could place a box fan in front of it as soon as I lift it up the bottom of glass, a black device with a metal tracking guide popped out. I have no idea what it is, but it is certainly strong because when I touched it it coiled and almost ripped my finger off. Matty told me over and over again how proud he was of this Door in the quality and my dogs will never be able to scratch the glass but if they ever do, they will replace it because it's a lifetime warranty on their products. Today Matty said oh well that was everything except for storm doors. With the amount of problems we've had with not only damage to our walls which they did not offer to repair, these have never worked to their full potential. I also forgot they didn't put a storm door chain on our door and had to come back like a third or fourth time to do that. This company is incompetent. Their communication sucks and the quality of their products. I'm just not seeing the hype. We've regretted using this company since the day they came to install Which leads me to our tiny bathroom window they smartly add a sticker that says do not press against the screen. It's probably because it's set with a cheap glue. Our screen has never been attached to the windows since the day they installed it we corrected this on our own because we were sick and tired of dealing with this company and their crap. The storm door was not capped off, nor were we given a bag of inserts to cap off our door and outside bugs crawled up in there and could come in my house through the strike plate on the door frame. I could not believe this. ???? The varnish is also coming off....What is happening?? This is not normal and I refuse to believe otherwise. These doors were EXPENSIVE, honey. I am also married to a man who Preaches quality over quantity. He was happy to spend lots of money on these doors to have good ones. These aren't it. There are too many other options out there to be spending this kind of money and be dealing with this many issues. We are now doing a whole home remodel and we are going to be spending some serious money but the best part is it will not be with Meyer windows and doors . I've taken a long time to write this review as I didn't want to make it out of anger. I've had multiple chances but held back.
