Had an electrical issue caused by the misuse of an electric hedge trimmer. Suppose to be for trimming bushes, not cutting electric cords, although it does do a fairly decent job hacking through the latter. Anyway, the fatal cut resulted in loss of power to outside and garage outlets. I checked what I could but those feeble efforts did nothing to cure the problem. A call to Josh at Mr. Sunshine brought Jesse to my home the following day. With a simple check and flip of a breaker he cured that problem. But, he went the extra mile and checked all the outlets and found a problem with one of the GFI outlets that fed the garage. He was able to fix this in short order. He then did some trouble shooting on another issue inside the house. This was done, options were discussed and I choose to leave things as they were. Total time was less than an hour. Total satisfaction was obtained. Highly recommend Mr. Sunshine for efficient, professional service. read more

They quoted requirements of the job that turned out to not be required. They quoted their price based on the extra requirements. Specifically they claimed that electrical conduit needed to be 2 feet under ground but the work they did was 6 inches under ground. They claimed that APS required the work to be done 2 feet under ground but I have since found out that the job they performed did not require under ground work at all. When confronted with this they only wanted to argue. They did not do the work they quoted that they would do. They did not quote the correct requirements of the job correctly. read more

I called 6 electricians on a Sat for an emergency and Josh at Mr. Sunshine was the only one that called me back (right away!). My power went out in my elderly dad's bedroom where he has a hospital bed and other medical equipment. I explained my situation and Josh realized right away that it was an emergency and he rearranged his other appointments to come right over. Josh is the nicest guy. He's friendly, polite, professional and did great work. He diagnosed the problem fast, got the parts right away and did meticulous work. He replaced old badly burned 40 yr old outlets in my Dad's room and now it is safe and reliable. The price was fair and very reasonable. Needed an dryer plug put in urgently and as we are doing a partial renovation there were some other things that needed to be done but I did not think I could afford them at this point in our project. When they came out they did an evaluation of our situation, gave us estimates at 3 cost points and because of the price we had work done that I thought was going to be held until later. Absolutely recommend Mr Sunshine's!! We hired this company to replace track lighting in our kitchen with recessed lighting and install under cabinet lighting. Our electrician, Josh, gave great recommendations. We basically gave him creative license to install how and where he saw fit and we are very happy with the results. I was very impressed with the service from the phone call to say they were on the way, the email introducing me to the electrician, the breakdown of the price before the job, the quick and professional way they did the job and then the clean up after. This is the second time I've used Mr Sunshine electric. Josh is very attentive to the customer's needs and does quality work. Josh's s employees Jessie and Hunter are professional, and dedicated to doing a great job. There is another electrician in Estrella Mountain Ranch, BUT if you want quality work done on time, these are the guys to use. Mr Sunshine Electric company helped me solve a Ring Door Bell issue as well (seems like that is a common problem). They are great at troubleshooting issues as they arise as well. Sorry to say our experience with Josh Males's services was far, far below what we expected. We had his company rewire our home. It was almost a complete rewire. The team he sent out here were new to his company and did not have any written information as to what we had agreed upon for the job, nor did they as yet have the tablets that were intended for use by his people. The job they did do was a sorry excuse for the job. First, one goal of the job was to properly encase junction boxes in the attic. They did not do this and had to correct it, which they did on New Year's Eve. Secondly, all of the circuit breakers in the box were to be replaced. When we attempted to use an outlet in the master bedroom it did not work. My husband removed the circuit breaker attached to that outlet only to find it cracked. They came back and fixed it. Each bathroom was supposed to have its own circuit, but they were on the same one. Josh himself came back and fixed it. When my husband opened the GFI to install another outlet in the bathroom, he found that it was not correctly grounded. My husband fixed it. They were supposed to supply wiring for a new electric water heater. They supplied a wire, but it didn't even have a box. I believe we had a handyman come and install a box. We found multiple wire nuts that were loose. We found one kitchen outlet not connected to a GFI as per code, they came out and fixed it. Josh told me he would cover a permit up to $300. He got a permit, but not for a rewire. I was forced to go to the city myself and get (and pay for) the proper permit. I did not specify which type of switches to use in the rewire, thinking that they would automatically choose the newer style larger rocker switches seeing we were attempting to modernize our wiring. Josh did not ask what we wanted and installed the old style switches. We agreed later that Josh would replace the outlets with the newer style and that I would pay for the hardware and Josh would cover the installation. He charged me $300, which is far more than the cost of the outlets. When we agreed upon the job, I requested that they run the existing coax in the cable in the wall, which they did. When we had problems with the internet, I paid for Josh to come and install a new setup in all places except the wall, which had been repaired after the rewire. We still had problems with the internet. I called and they didn't even answer my call. We did not get it fixed until this fall when we had Cox come and install. The installer told us that he found that we were using an old Direct TV outlet in the attic and he fixed it. Since then we have had no problem with the internet. In conclusion, they did a very poor job originally, got tired of fixing their own work, and did not act in good faith. I am not in the habit of writing bad reviews, but this one is well deserved. read more

We needed an electrical timer installed for some outdoor lights. After seeing Josh and his company Mr. Sunshine ranked number one on yelp I gave him a call. He promptly returned my call and scheduled the appointment on a Saturday as that was the best time for us. He arrived on time, and was very polite and knowledgeable. I needed someone to repair an on/off switch on my spa. This company was great in the way that they set up their appointments. Also, you are sent an email before the appointment that has the electrician's photo, so that you will know who to expect. Great idea! This man was very professional. He took his time assessing what needed to be done. Then gave me two options. When he was finished, everything was cleaned up. You would never know anyone had been there. Had Mr.Sunshine over to add a few electrical outlets and run some Cat6 cable to my A/V closet. His electrician was running late from a previous job (Called and updated me) and finally showed up 30 mins after a 3 hour window (but I was updated by the employee earlier in the window). So here it is, Good Friday, at 3:30pm and he shows up, gives me an estimate for the work I needed done. I was fully expecting him to reschedule but once I accepted the estimate he went to work eventually finishing up around 6:30pm. I was impressed! He could have re-scheduled but pressed on and got the job done - that's service! I whole-heartedly recommend Mr. Sunshine. Like most Electricians these days, they charge by the job not by the hour. I'd rather pay by the hour and save some money but nowadays, with Electricians and Plumbers they bid by the job, that's just the way it is. Great Company! read more

This is the first time I've ever written a review for services "NOT" rendered, but I just had to speak on the great customer service I received from Curtis at Mr. Sunshine Electric. First off, his greeting blew me away and really made me feel like he was glad I called! Secondly, when I told him what I needed, he didn't try to schedule an appointment or give me a quote, he instinctively told me the simple fix I could do myself! Josh and his crew, Ricky and Jesse, did a complete rewire of an historic condo for me as part of a remodel project. The work passed the city rough inspection the first time and the inspector even commented that is was a good job. Josh is flexible, was willing to make some changes mid course and has returned to help with a couple of minor issues. Follow up and customer service have been excellent. I feel comfortable that I have a rewired condo that is up to code, safe and was done right. I would give Mr Sunshine an excellent reference. read more
