James quickly responded to my request for the replacement of our microwave over the stove. I had…read morealready purchased the new microwave, he knew the correct questions to ask about its size relative to the existing unit and about the materials which made up the backsplash. He brought a very helpful helper and all the correct tools and showed up when he said he would. In removing the existing microwave, he was careful not to damage the glass stovetop below, strategically using pieces of the new unit's cardboard box to protect it. He and his helper, Jason, thoroughly cleaned and dusted the cabinet floor above and removed any debris that had fallen onto the granite countertop. James compared the new bracket with the existing bracket and found it to be identical. Then, like the proverbial well-oiled machine, they lifted the new unit's cardboard box onto the bracket and James very smoothly made a couple of minor adjustments, then inserted the required bolts into the microwave through the cabinet floor, thus securing it. They inserted the turntable and glass plate, removed the protective plastic and tried out the microwave, and everything worked perfectly! James and Jason removed all of the trash--box, plastic, old microwave--so that I didn't have to deal with it, and James even offered to tweak my weird front door while he was here, but I felt that I had more than gotten my money's worth. I just wish that everyone who has performed a service at our "beach" house in Rockport had been that knowledgeable, considerate, and responsible. If I had only had subcontractors and tradesmen like James throughout my almost-thirty-year career in historic preservation contracting, I might not have left the business twenty-four years ago. I look forward to calling upon him again for other tasks, because he is skilled in other aspects of repair and remodeling. Best call I've made this year.
