They say that Angels walk among us here on Earth. Making miracles happen every day of our lives…read more I found those Angels in Phil and Annette of Animal Friends of the Valleys. I was so impressed with the passion they expressed in caring for the souls of their shelter that I found myself adopting a female German Shepherd called Nix, now renamed Cali. Cali has been a miracle in and of itself. Thanks Phil, Annette and their trainer Glenn for such a smooth transition in getting Cali all the way over to Florida and thank you for making miracles come true here on Earth. Much love and respect from an Orange County Deputy!

The volunteer staff at check-in were nice but very uninformed, we did not know where to go or how the process worked and had to wait until the nice lady working the accessory store saw us and helped us out. As far as meet and greets go, it was a little tough finding someone who could help, though it was simply due to the fact that everyone was busy and running around. After a couple visits to the shelter we were finally ready to make an adoption, however the lady at the desk was very rude and unhelpful. We felt as if we were inconveniencing her with wanted to adopt a dog. We came back another day and were helped by much nicer people and the process went great! Overall this place is amazing and I can't thank them enough for what they do as well as helping us find our new family member :)

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed not just as guests, but as people in need of a safe, supportive space to breathe and regroup. The team at Jacob's House extended kindness that felt so genuine--it was as though they wrapped our family in a warm hug during a very heavy time. The home itself is peaceful and thoughtfully maintained, with every detail clearly designed to bring a sense of calm to families like ours. But beyond the physical comforts, what meant the most was the human kindness. The staff checked in on us, offered encouraging words, and created a space where we didn't feel so alone in our grief and uncertainty. It's rare to find a place that truly lives out its mission, but Jacob's House does just that. Their presence made a heartbreaking chapter in our lives just a little bit lighter, and we will always carry gratitude for the compassion they showed us.
