NEVER GO HERE!!! This is the worst place to take something…read moreyou would like to get altered in Jacksonville! I heard about them from a men's suit alteration place. I had to get my 100% silk wedding dress altered. All it needed was to be taken in and brought up a little. When I got there the older woman was rude and snagged my dress after putting the first pin it in. I asked her about it immediately and she said that she would fix it and that it was no big deal. I was told to pick it up in 2 weeks. I was so upset that she snagged it that I started talking to more people in the area about it, while looking for a new wedding dress. When I went to pick it up the nag was not fixed and there were more snags/pilling on the dress. The woman who owns it, I'm assuming it's Estela, and the older woman who sewed it were very rude and pushy with me when I brought it to their attention. They were saying, in Spanish to each other, that I brought it in that way and that they didn't snag it. They said they would fix the one snag and that I would have to come back in another week to pick it up. When I went back the third time, with my mother in law, they said that they still had to fix the snag and insisted that it was brought in this way. They also clained that the dress was not taken in on the sides and that all they did was pull up the straps. and the cleaners damaged it before I brought it to them. That was a bold face lie! I came back a few days later and picked up the dress knowing that I had to get another dress and that they probably didn't fix anything...they didn't and made me pay $45 for the crappy alteration that they did do! I think I may file a claim to the BBB because this kind of practice is not lawful! Stay away!

I was recommended to Estela's Alterations when I bought my dress from classics. I have now…read morerealised, after looking through yelp that she is not even considered a bridal alterations store. She mainly hems pants for the military. She is a very nice person, but does not listen to what the customer has to say, and does not take good care of the dresses when you leave them in her care. She will also use other customers in the store to gang up on you. My main grievances are that they hem unevenly, will not listen to customer's concerns, blame customer's whenever they make a mistake, and will lie to your face. Oh, and they will damage wedding gowns and just keep pretending like they don't hear you whenever you ask about it. They also do not have the skill to make a bustle that looks like anything other than a huge, visible hook that is holding a wad of uneven fabric. If you must go here, make her write her plan for your dress down in detail, and have her sign it. My wedding dress was ruined, and I had to buy a new one which means I had to cancel the hairstylists for my wedding and cut back on many other aspects. I really want a refund, but I have no idea about how to go about getting one from her.
