I recently took my Boykin Spaniel to this groomer, providing clear instructions for a traditional cut, including a natural spike down the center--a common and well-known style for Boykins. Unfortunately, upon pickup, I was extremely disappointed to find that my dog's coat had been cut unevenly, with patches of hair taken down to a very thin layer. The signature center spike was not properly executed, instead appearing as a blocky, short strip, completely different from what was requested. Upon addressing my concerns with the staff and speaking with both the manager and owner, it became clear that customer service was not a priority. The manager lacked authority to resolve the issue, and the owner, in my opinion, was indifferent and dismissive. This wasn't about the cost--it was about principle and professionalism. Mistakes happen, but how a business responds is what defines its credibility. For anyone considering this grooming service, I strongly recommend overcommunicating your expectations, as what they deem "professional" may not align with your request. Had I known, I would have done the grooming myself and likely achieved better results. A more engaged and solution-oriented approach from management would have gone a long way in rectifying the situation, but unfortunately, that did not happen. It is a good thing Rolex can't understand what people are saying or he would have a big head! He is so beautiful after visiting Ms Maria's yesterday! He left home looking like a dirty white carpet and came back looking so white and so beautiful! With his triple layers of hair and his size, he is extremely hard for me to properly groom. It takes me at least 3 hours to wash him then dry and brush him out. He just can't be left to dry on his own - he truly EXPECTS to be blow dried after his shower. Then there is the bathroom clean up - fur is EVERYWHERE!! I am so thankful for everyone at Ms Maria's! He happily bounces into their business so he enjoys visiting. read more
