I was the only person in the entire store except for the two ladies up front on their phones. Unfortunately, this is probably one of the filthiest pet stores I've ever been in and it stunk to high heaven. Definitely more geared towards fish and birds. I asked if they carried Purina Pro Plan dog food and was told that they "don't carry Purina anything" with an eye roll. Maybe a good stop for smaller animals or in a pinch? read more

You will always find the owner here. Or at least I have. He's very likable and knowledgeable on any number of pet questions. I got a Tiel from him and he's awesome. You will see all sorts of pets in here, all groomed and very well taken care of. They LOVE their animals in here. If they don't' have the item you're looking for, they will order it for you. Awesome pet store! I have a 3 year old America Staffordshire Terrier and a new lab puppy, both rescues and they were very knowledgeable about both. The owner was there and he was very friendly and helpful as was the girl that helped me find a leash, collar, and food for both of my dogs. The owner greeted me immediately and welcomed me and my puppy! He measured my pups neck for his collar size and petted him. My new favorite pet store. Will definitely be back! They also have an excellent natural food selection and lots of collars and leashes to choose from! read more

Great customer service was excellent. They had everything I needed for my Schnoodle.

Have been coming to pet stop for about 6 months now. I usually get large crickets and a mouse. Every time I go in I have to stand around and wait for the employees to help. Very rarely are you even greeted when entering the door and when you do finally get helped and you tell them you want crickets(if they even have any)they act like your a giant inconvenience.Another experience I had was when I bought a mouse from there and got it home and the box was empty. Went back and they acted like I was trying to get a free one. Even had to pay for the second. Have bought other products from them before but they are way overpriced. Also be careful buying any live animals there as they give no guarantees and there are no refunds. I fully believe in supporting small businesses and have let things slide for a while but I will be taking my money elsewhere and suggest that you do the same. When I stated I wouldn't be back and I will start ordering crickets online, she said, I don't care, and then turned to continue watching tv. I don't like to do business with pet stores stores that advertise pure bred dogs for sale on their sign, but I needed a particular kind of dog food and couldn't drive to Tallahassee. By the way, please don't think that their apparent support of breeding influenced the following review, though. I took my dog, Emma, with me to the store. Once I got to the register with a heavy bag of dog food under one arm, and a leashed dog and a coupon in the other hand, the cashier informed me that the store doesn't take coupons because "the owner has trouble getting reimbursed for them". It would have been nice if there were signage posted stating this; there were no signs anywhere. This store is already overpriced, but I understand that this pricing is the norm for many specialty stores in small towns, and enables them to stay in business. However, I wanted to be able to get the most for my money, so I (politely) stated that I needed to put the big bag back on the shelf and get a smaller bag. No one offered to help me with this. I understand the cashier not being able to leave the cash register, but the lady standing beside the register didn't offer, either. No big deal - I swapped the foods out and returned to the register. Emma was well-behaved, but like most dogs, she finds it very hard to resist un-packaged, tempting dog treats placed right at dog-mouth height. These treats were conveniently placed on lower shelves right beside the register - where customers will be standing still for a few minutes to purchase their items. Why would a pet store put treats that are not packaged right beside the register at dog height - not people height? So as my dog food and treats are being rung-up, the employee standing beside the register (just standing there the whole time) starts excitedly exclaiming "she's stealing, she's stealing!". I look down and Emma was eating a treat off the shelf. I apologized profusely and the cashier didn't hesitate to add the price of the treat to my purchases (this treat was about a dollar and some change - you'd think the store would have not charged me for it in light of refusing my coupon, providing poor customer service, and having the treats at such a pet-accessible height and location). So, as I'm finally getting ready to pay, the same thing happened again, along with the lady, once again, announcing that my dog "was stealing". Seriously??? She never once offered to help me with Emma - Emma was sitting right by my side, but so were those shelves of treats. No, Emma should not have eaten them, and I apologized again... and once again, I was charged for the treat. Fine. Whatever. We are not shop-lifters and didn't appreciate the way she phrased it. I honestly thought she was kidding around at first, but she wasn't. I spent a lot of money on the food and other treats I'd purchased, but that part of my transaction was not even acknowledged. So, no help carrying the big bag of food, no help swapping the over-priced bags out, no warning that coupons were not accepted, accused of stealing- twice, charged for poorly, and awfully conveniently, placed treats, and advertise dogs for sell (not adoption). This store was offensive on way too many levels for my taste. read more
