I thought it might be easier to use the bank that held my mortgage loan to refinance so I contacted citizens and Inquired about refinancing, they told me it would be about 60-90 days to close and the rate I was quoted for. I thought 60-90 days was a bit ridiculous, and the loan officer told me they do rate match if I have an approval in writting from another company. I immediately asked myself what I was doing? This is ridiculous, rate match? Why wouldn't citizens give ne the best rate i was qualified for? This is a joke! I contacted msa which I should have originally done but I figured I would save time and money working with the bank that held my loan ready, NOPE! So I went back to MSA and began working with Rob Deeb. Not only did I get the exceptional service I have gotten in the past, they where considerably less costly than citizen, they closed my loan in a third of the time citizens was going to need, and they gave me the best rate that I was qualified for which was .25% less than citizen! I literally cannot say enough good things about Jason. When I first started my home buying process, I was stubborn and insisted on going with my personal bank - they held my previous mortgage, my car loan, and all of my major banking. Even when my coworker recommended I use Jason, it fell on deaf ears. That was my biggest mistake ever. Fast forward to the day after I signed my P&S, when my financing with my bank fell apart because it was contingent on another deal. We found Jason Deeb (with MSA Mortgage) through a recommendation of our realtor, and I am so very glad we ended up working with him as our lender! Before starting the process, he explained every little thing you would need to know about home buying. He sent us estimates for various mortgage loans available, he would notify us whenever documents were needed (and he was very specific of what he needed which helped out a lot). He was responsive (which is important when you don't know what's happening sometimes), and always let us know what the next step would be. My husband and I were completely dissatisfied with MSA and Fariba. We were very clear about our criteria and hurdles recently faced with other lenders. We also informed MSA and Fariba that we had a tight deadline to meet and that if they were unable to meet it (which was fine) we would move on to another lender. Fariba assured us that both our timeline and criteria were not a problem and that she would undoubtedly be able to provide us with a loan with no hurdles or surprises. Two weeks before our schedule closing date, Fariba informed us that we needed to take other measures to complete the loan process, measures we stated in the beginning were impossible. We ended up having to work with our Redfin real estate agent to quickly find a lender, who worked miracles and got our loan done in record timing. We feel that MSA and Fariba used dishonest tactics to secure our business and strongly recommend not using them. read more
