At the end of the paddle board trip - see everyone is still smiling (lol!) Had a great time thank you Corey and Abby!

If you haven't went SUP on the Rio Grande with MST adventures then you don't know what your missing! It's great fun. Corey was a excellent instructor and I felt very safe with him and his crew. Thank you Corey for opening this amazing business of bringing so much happiness into so many people's lives and taking the time to teach people fun activities in and around ABQ that most people don't know anything about. The river is beautiful and peaceful !

Most amazing, beautiful experience paddle boarding on the Rio Grande with MST Adventures, loved every moment!! Pure heaven on earth views and experience!! I got to see coyotes, birds a plenty and learn new techniques to navigate the river. MST thank you for sharing your knowledge and the experience highly recommended!!

We had a great experience in our tandem kayak down the Rio grande! They were easy to book, communicate and return. We will rent again!

I would highly recommend MST Adventures if you're looking for a fun float down the Rio Grande!

I would highly recommend MST Adventures if you're looking for a fun trip down the Rio Grande! This is a family run business and they are so nice and so professional!

Screenshot from a video I took going down the Rio Grande with Corey S.

I wanted to get 1-on-1 safety training with a 2-place inflatable kayak that I got before taking my 3 year old with me down the Rio Grande. Corey was a professional, made it super comfortable to ask any and all questions, and gave me a lay of the land (literally as well as what the sport entails). I feel confident to take my family kayaking, knowing what to look for. I'm grateful for Corey and MST Adventures. Highly recommended.

The gorgeous view on my snowshoeing adventure.

I just had to let everybody know about my day tour with MST Adventures (the snowshoe edition)! I booked a snowshoe tour with MST Adventures to help me adjust to hiking in the cold and the snow, something I've never done before. I'm SO glad I did this, because I've discovered a new passion, and a great bunch of folks to help me find/take really neat trips in New Mexico. Corey was my guide on this trip and he was brilliant. He set up my tour (and promptly rescheduled it when the snow was not co-operative the first weekend), then he met me at the trail head with snowshoes, some poles, and pack full of safety gear and some snacks. We spent a few minuets in the parking lot going over the safety stuff and basic snowshoeing, until I felt comfortable heading out into the gusty, grey wilderness with Corey leading the way. We had a really nice hike that went at my beginner pace. Corey explained how to keep track of the trail, and then we chatted away about all sorts of outdoors stuff. Corey had some great suggestions for other trails I might want to try in the area and was just all around easy and fun to talk to. By the time we turned around to head back to the cars, the sun had come out and the snow was sparkling white against the purple clouds. Gorgeous! I've rented paddle boards from MST before, and I intend to do their river paddle tour during Balloon fiesta. Everyone who works there is really friendly and super knowledgeable, I highly recommend this great local company for all your outdoor adventures! **** Just an update after my SUP tour down the Rio Grande during Balloon fiesta 2018, I'm even more impressed by the friendly professional folks at MST Adventures. I had a fantastic time on my trip and one of the best views of the balloons in the whole town. I'm a very, very novice stand up Paddler, but they guys made me feel at ease and the trip was perfectly doable with my level of experience. Very highly recommended. The guys bust their butts to make sure your trip is comfortable, interesting and lots and lots of fun! They put just as much effort into trips with just one person as they do on trips with 10. Seriously, if you like the balloons/balloon fiesta, don't miss this trip!

The caveat is that the final approach to the U-Mound gets more complex and I gave up. But there's a consolation prize: the term "U-Mound" is apparently also used to refer to the general rocks in the vicinity, which are approachable via the easy trails. Given the incomplete maps online and reviews of the difficult trails around Embudo, the TL;DR take is that you should look for the 401 trail if you're into scenery but not trying to re-enact some grim 2012-era Sundance movie. There are many elevation options. While I didn't see wildflowers in April, there was a great cacti assortment. Geography note: there are buses relatively close to Copper Trailhead but the ABQ Ride schedule is not generous. As of press time there were no post-sunset buses so I took Lyft.

This area is family, friendly with a ride of different trails and pet friendly as well. Like other areas in the foothills do you have to watch out for cacti and other hazards. Still enjoying the views is worth getting out here. There's a good amount of parking and additional parking further out.

I liked it so much that I decided to be a repeat customer. I really like to ride my bike and I use it for daily fitness purposes. The sales was no hassle, no pressure. They offered credit to finance my purchase, which I took advantage of. They also told me that a level once maintenance package was included with my bike. They encouraged me to use their app, Ride Club. I downloaded the app and was on my way. The bike is a smooth riding machine. I use two apps when I ride, the Ride Club app and Map my run. They both give slightly different information. Around November 2025, I brought my bike in for that maintenance service. Based on my miles, they suggested a level two service, and they would credit the difference of a level one that came with the bike. That worked for me. I don't recall how long they had my bike, but it wasn't more than a few days. I got her back and she was glowing. She looked brand new. I brought my bike back again in May to address a squeaky brake issue. They bled the brakes. I picked it up and then I had problems with my gears on my first ride. I brought it back to the shop. They made some adjustments, but it wasn't quite enough. I brought it back in again and they checked it in. They called me and said that some of the problem should have been discovered on a earlier visit. For that, they said they would cover the parts if I would cover the labor. I agreed. She is back to a well running machine. This has only been my bike shop since I purchased my bike. I love walking in there. I'm usually greeted and service is always on top of their business. Often, someone will open the door as I wheel my bike out. So nice, a great bunch of people.

We'd never considered taking our daughter here until she was invited by a friend and, surprise surprise, she loved it. Yes, #girlsride too. It's disturbing to think I'd never considered a bike park a good spot for her pandemic play, but there you have it. For a public resource, this little lot of dirt is pretty rad. Offering three distinct levels of riding courses -- beginner, experienced and expert -- the area is nicely maintained, with a number of good, shady trees on the north end. There's also a small balance course, also well maintained, and lots of seating for lame-o dudes like me who already cracked some ribs trying this stuff as a kid. Covered picnic tables, open dawn 'till dusk, free to the public, what's not to love? Well, the male/female ratio, actually -- it's about 90/10. Time to change that, kiddo, let's load up the bike and go.

This was an awesome experience to ride the 2nd longest tram in the world up to the top!…read more First of all, the day we rode was the 60th annual celebration of the tram. Thus, our tickets were all 50% off. We found out we'd be riding the third generation. It's been so long since I last visited the tram that I probably rode the second generation. It's roomy! Even with the 60th celebration, our wait wasn't extremely long. I believe there are about 30 people on each ride, but I didn't count. I was hoping I didn't feel crammed and it wasn't too bad. Once you're up there, it's amazing to be so far above the ground. On the way up, our 'captain' gave us a bit of trivia about the area, the tram, and our trip up. At some point, you'll pass the other tram coming down, which gives you an idea of how fast you're really going! Wow. Once at the top, it's about 10 degrees cooler. Bring a light jacket or sweatshirt. You can choose to hike a trail that begins on the back side of the restaurant. You'll see the ski lifts and options for different hikes. OR, you can grab a drink from the Ten 3 restaurant and check out the views. We put our name on the list to eat and sipped on cocktails during the wait. It was nice and relaxing up there at the top! We ate at Ten 3 (our wait was 30 minutes) then made our way down. Our guide on the way down didn't say a word, but I suppose it's the same as the way up. There's only one bench on the tram so if you have trouble standing make sure you let it be known. My mom sat going and coming. When you're back at the bottom there's another restaurant if you'd like to eat there instead. They also have a gift shop with some Sandia Tramway, and Albuquerque memorabilia. It's a cute shop. I bought a few items. It's a nice trip. I've ridden before, but it's been so long I don't even remember. Check it out.

You can purchase tickets online for a two hour window to ride the tramway up. After that you can spend as much time as you like at the peak before heading back down. We bought our tickets for the 3-5 PM window which is a popular slot as many people like to watch the sunset from the top. It is a gorgeous sight to watch the sunset from the peak and even more so as the lights turn on throughout the city below. It was also very cold in December so make sure you bundle up before taking the tram. One drawback is that the tram only runs every 15 minutes and there's a huge live to go back down after the sunset. It was almost an hour's wait to take the trip back.
