Like PC DIY, this is one of the two places I will go to when I'm looking for cheap good tech. As mentioned, it is best that you know what you're looking for before you go in and one of the best ways to do this is to check out their price list and catalogue which is available online. Unlike most retail stores, the catalogue is just a text listing of all the things they stock so you'll have to do some research online or in other retail stores to truly get an idea of what you might be buying. That said though, if you're on a tight budget, it's well worth the time to do it if you're looking to save money. Customer service isn't bad, but it definitely is minimal. They expect you to come up to them and to tell them what it is you're looking for. Depending on who you are talking to they can recommend solutions, however do your best to know at least roughly what you're looking for. You can find parking directly outside the shop which is really convenient when you just want to quickly stop by and walk in to buy something. It definitely beats driving around the block 3 times looking for parking which is what I would usually find myself doing when they used to be located at where PC DIY currently is. Don't feel put off if you don't get the sort of attention or customer service you would get in places like JB Hi-fi or Officeworks. That's not why I go there anyway. When I go there I want to save money, I want good tech and I want it fast. They deliver in all those aspects, and for me that's what matters the most.

Bought the components to my last computer here. You need to keep a couple of things in mind to have a good experience here. The first thing is that you'll find the customer service to be minimal. The second thing is that you really need to know what you're after before you go in. Don't go unless you know exactly what you want. It's not unusual to see people go in with a highlighted price list. That said, this place is cheap. Very cheap. It's why I keep going back.

Review Highlights - MSY Technology

When I first purchase the motherboard it was a lot cheaper to get it from MSY than from anywhere else.

Save yourself a fist full of dollars by shopping at this factory outlet, as it has various…read moreelectrical items which just might be what you're after and fit the budget. And all items from the factory outlet carry a full warranty. The majority of the items here are either scratch and dent, demos or simply the previous model, not that there's anything wrong with that, check where the marks are on the item and if they're not going to be visible, then why not. With these particular items it just means the store cannot sell items which are not in peak cosmetic condition. As an example which is two years old but none the less, I done some research on which TV was going to be the best for us, good quality and had the features we wanted...so we settled on a Toshiba Regza 46". I can't remember the exact amounts paid but I can tell you the difference between buying it new from a department store and new from HV outlet was $1000, as it was the model just finished and HV was making room for the next in coming model that's the reason it was at their factory outlet. That's it...we saved $1000, got full warranty, wasn't a scratch n dent and it's still going strong, best investment. It also had alot to do with being in the right place at the right time, all the stars aligned and all that jazz. Hint: Do you research online, read blogs, get specs, etc and then look for where it is for viewing, how much it costs, take into account a small portion of what the sales people tell you as they get brownie points for sales, then add it all up in the end, because it's your money and your decision not theirs. Smart shoppers save. Note: 4 star rating for this HVFO store only!

You go in there and tell the guys what you need and they show you items that might be a bit less than perfect. The great thing is that quite often, there's the tiniest of dents or scratches which is stopping them from being sold in the normal shops. The way to shop here is to go to the regular HN stores, find something you want, look at where it is going in your house and know which surfaces are not important. For example, our fridge will be against a wall on its left side, so I could have bought one with a huge scratch on that side. I ended up getting a brand new Fisher and Paykel fridge and washing machine with a hefty discount. Also, they offer an extended warranty and delivery. The fridge has a tiny dent on the front which you can barely see and the washing machine has a scratch on the side, but as it's being built in, it won't be seen. They also have TV's, coffee machines, washing machines, cooktops and ovens, heaters, air conditioners and more. Definitely worth checking out. Also, all the items are tested to check that they still work fine.

Retail will never be dead, especially when there are people like my partner and I who look at all the reviews online, found the product and the price we wanted to pay and then still have to go in store for the final touch and feel. Good Guys guarantee best price and price match up to 30 days after purchase. They don't do free delivery and they only offer 12 months interest free but the product range for white goods is top of the range. Don't be in a rush when shopping here on the weekends. If an attendant comes up to you and you're not ready to buy I would still recommend latching onto them and making small talk like, "that washing machine sure is white" and "it weighs 20kg you say?" until you make a decision because you won't find another one for a good 15 to 20 minutes. Despite the painfully long waits, and the fact you have to stand in your department to wait, or someone else will jump in line, the staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and straight up about quality and value for money. Don't try asking the fridge guy about televisions though, he'll tell you he doesn't know about that "new-age" stuff. It'd be great if they had a ticket system like at the butcher shop so you could continue to browse and end up buying more stuff while you wait. But I guess they have their reasons for encouraging you to mill around like a lost sheep until someone serves you... Every appliance or white good we have bought from here in the past comes in a box/is pre-packaged and it certainly hasn't fallen off the back of a truck. So get down there and haggle! No, hang on, just pay cash and they'll give you about $20-50 off.

It works, trust me, it is just really lazy! After a couple of months I decided to invest in a 'u-bute' 42inch LCD with picture in picture and all of the trimmings......I still sat on the floor and rested my feet on it, well, on the base! I don't think I would be treating my tele like that if it was one of the pretty screens from Dennis White though! Dennis White is as close to 'top end' that we get in the Hi-Tech super metropolis that is Adelaide. They are very selective of brands they stock and charge accordingly. Apparently they are cheap for the products they stock, but they could double what they had on the sticker price and I would still have no idea! Word to the wise though, if you are looking to invest in one of their all consuming Hi-Fi systems make sure you don't live in a block of appartments, unless you have some damn understanding neighbours, because those things really crank out the Kenny G!

I will share my horror stories in a hope people are warned! First started, when I bought a…read moreNAD375BEE from Denis and asked for a good price. I was given a great price and made a point of asking if unit was ex-display, ex demo etc. Was assured!! it was 'brand new'. Was happy, only to find when I got home and un-packed it, the Amp had clearly been opened and badly re-packed. I was worried and soon had good reason. I immediately started hearing 'crackling' through my speakers every time I adjusted the volume. It spent six weeks being fixed under warranty, with a faulty volume control motor. I believe this was a return and was simply re-sold for that 'great price', knowing it to be faulty! SOLD amp after that and lost money. NAD375BEE is a good Amp, just don't get it from this guy!!! Giving the benefit of the doubt, I purchased a Rega RP40 Turntable, some time later and made a point at asking once again if this item was 'brand new, in sealed box'. When item arrived, the box was not sealed, without any tape at all, it just opened, which I find hard to believe would have been sent like that from England! I opened the box and immediately noticed broken foam packaging and lots of foam pieces in box. I unpacked it, then to find it had indeed been opened and found the counterweight outside of its plastic bag and just sitting loosely inside the turntable. This is quite heavy and was not in its secure foam insert and the plastic bag it was supposed to be sitting in was pushed into the foam recess where the counterweight was supposed to sit at the side of the packaging. This counterweight was just left to sit and slide around on the face of the turntable platter causing scratches. I took the turntable to Denis White and he and one of his staff, immediately became defensive, rude, extremely aggressive, swearing and would not discuss it, after I mentioned the NAD story and this is now the second time, this has conveniently happened. This guy is a shonk and has no integrity. He is rude, aggressive, belligerent and is not to be trusted, especially if you want a good price!!! I have spent $30,000 on a Hi-Fi System and still buying! BUT NOT FROM DENIS WHITE!!!!!!

Their ridiculous automated phone system invites you to [Press 1] for technical support. As a naive consumer who dropped off a faulty unit I thought that seemed a reasonable option...FAIL...after pressing one you are greeted with " we do not offer technical support, please contact Apple directly". [why ask the bl**dy question then] So back to the automated call options and [Press 3] for general enquiries....to be cut off. Try again...cut off. Try a 3rd time....cut off. Finally I had to make a special trip and drive to their store in Glenunga to discover my 10yr old son's iPod has been sitting in a plastic envelope for the past 7 weeks and so now finally having parted with some more cash the indications are that it will be sent back to Apple for a replacement. It shouldn't be this hard in an economic environment where retailers are complaining about weak consumer spending. On this occasion I am only spending a couple of hundred dollars on a replacement iPod but I am in the market for a new iMac. I wonder where I'll choose to spend my $2,000?

Unlike many businesses, they don't look for reasons to avoid doing warranty repairs (perhaps because Apple pays them for the repair work). They have a good selection of accessories.
